전문직 정체성 형성을 위한 의학교육 현장의 과제 (The Tasks of Medical Education to Support the Formation of Medical Professional Identity)

  • Building professional identity is the most basic purpose of medical education. Students who enter medical schools do not have an identity rooted in the medical profession, and universities should therefore take steps to help students form their identity as doctors, attitudes, beliefs, and values through the curriculum. However, while medical knowledge and clinical skills are fully reflected in basic medical education, issues persist regarding education on values, attitudes, and beliefs that are important for professional identity. Regarding the process of professional identity formation, it is important to keep in mind that rapid changes in modern society lead to corresponding changes in socio-cultural expectations and demands related to professional identity, resulting in discrepancies between the reality of medical education and the actual field of medicine. Medical schools need to prepare students for these discrepancies, and in-depth discussions should address what is important and what should be solved first at medical education sites. However, it is difficult to generalize the tasks of professional identity formation in the field of medical education because each medical school may have unique circumstances. This article discusses the tasks that medical education should solve for professional identity formation education in terms of five aspects: establishing learning outcomes, training educational experts, introducing transformative learning, utilizing self-directed learning, and developing evaluation methods.

  • Reviewing the outcomes of studies on contemporary information science during some periods and identifying the research area exposed in its studies are essential processes to develop the research and theories of information science and to establish the academic identity of information science. This study seeks to provide the some useful methodological approaches for establishing the research area of information science. The methodological approaches to research area of information science are as follows : (1) normative approach by concepts, definitions, and principles of information science, (2) content analysis of text books, (3) content analysis of curricula of graduate courses, (4) content analysis of graduate disserations or treatises, (5) IIS(Institute of Information Scientists)'s criteria for information science, (6) professors' need assessment, (7) interdisciplinary approach, etc. These are the representative types of methodological approach and have an enough validity and effectiveness in their own way. Therefore I think of that those should be integrately applied to establishing the academic identity of information science.

간호대학생의 학업적 자기효능감 및 임상실습 만족도가 전문직 정체성에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Academic Self-efficacy and Clinical Practice Satisfaction on Professional Identity among Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: Establishing a professional identity is important for nurses in providing quality nursing care and adapting to changing roles in various clinical settings. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of nursing students' academic self-efficacy and clinical practice satisfaction on their professional identity. Methods: A total of 180 nursing students were recruited using convenience sampling from a university in G city in July, 2021. Results: The professional identity scores were higher than the average, and differed significantly according to nurses' academic grade, department satisfaction, interpersonal relations, and subjective health status. Professional identity showed a significant positive correlation with academic self-efficacy (r=.69, p<.001), major satisfaction (r=.72, p<.001), and clinical practice satisfaction (r=.71, p<.001). The factors affecting professional identity were clinical practice satisfaction (ß=.42, p<.001) and academic self-efficacy (ß=.38, p<.001). Conclusion: Our finding suggest that nursing students should be encouraged to develop their professional identity by improving clinical practice satisfaction and academic self-efficacy. Therefore, it is necessary to provide nursing education programs that increase their pride as nurses and establish their professionalism in nursing.

녹색관광마을의 이미지 차별화를 위한 CI통합계획 (Integrated CI Planning and Design of Green Tourism Village for Image Distinction)

  • Integrated CI (country identity, community identity) planning is necessary for establishing identity and a distinct image as well as for managing green tourism villages. In addition, CI planning will be helpful for improving and advertising a village's image, capitalizing on its specialties and attracting many visitors to the village. Therefore, this study mainly intended to plan and design integrated CI for a green tourism village. For this purpose, this study selected Hari village in Hongsung-Kun, Chungnam province, which the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry designated as a green tourism village in 2003. Twenty CI alternatives were developed, and a vote was conducted with 143 visitors and rural residents attending a village festival in 2004. This study resulted in a new brand-name, 'Hanuri,' and developed symbols, logotypes, distinctive colors, signature system as a basic system and name cards, packaging materials, and signs for use. Above all, this study led the residents to pursue a village identity, village image and community spirit, which can be an effective management strategy to create a distinct image in a green tourism village.

전통성을 활용한 기숙사의 외관색채 아이덴티티에 관한 연구 (A study on an identity of international students' dormitory based on traditional color)

  • A purpose of this study is to suggest color palette of outdoor environment of international students' dormitory in Yonsei university in order to improve the residents' satisfaction with the physical and mental factors. With the advent of the age of International and Global, more and more international students are coming to Korea studying Korean, so each university makes an effort to enhance the level of the university and establishing the internal boarding for the comfort of foreigners. This study draws problems of the color which lack to show internal boarding's identity and communicate with environment around the dorm both. The results of the study show, firstly, dominant color which is used on this project is based on Korean traditional color used in the International students' dormitory are harmonized with environment color and, next, accent color can reveal the identity of the dorm in Yonsei university.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the current theory education system and students'awareness about Korean identity by analysing four-year curricula of Interior design programs in domestic universities and questionnaires of 468 junior and senior students who have taken the history of interior design. This study is the first step of continuous research for establishing new model of education related to Korean tradition. Following three issues - $\circled1$degree of knowledge and awareness of Korean university students majoring interior design about Korean identity, $\circled2$extent of the coverage of theoretical education for korean tradition in curricula of interior programs, $\circled3$extent of the application of Korean identity as a design theme in studio classes - were mainly analysed.

임상실습이 치위생 전공학생의 전문직 정체성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of clinical practice of dental hygiene students on professional identity)

  • Objectives : This study aimed to get the data necessary for dental hygiene students to perceive the need for establishing a professional identity as dental hygienists and developing a program which reinforce pride as a preliminary professional. Methods : The subjects were 695 dental hygiene students in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Chungcheong areas. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Results : 1. The professional identity of dental hygiene students was 3.02 points, and the satisfaction with institutes for practice was 2.96 points. 2. The higher the satisfaction with the major was, the higher the identity was. Also, the identity was high when the frequency of clinical practice was 1 (3.11 points) and when they selected their major which corresponds with his aptitude (3.20 points). 3. The satisfaction with clinical practice was high when they didn't have any experience in dental clinic before clinical practice and when the satisfaction with the major was high. 4. Regarding the correlation between the professional identity and the satisfaction with clinical practice, the higher the satisfaction with clinical practice, the higher the professional identity. 5. The effective variables regarding the professional identity were satisfaction with a major, satisfaction with clinical practice, and frequency of clinical practice. Conclusions : The professional identity of students may be established through school education involving clinical practice. The identity of students may affect the occupational satisfaction, the identity and the work efficiency of dental hygienists in the future. Thus, it is deemed necessary to have a continued collaborative relationship between a school and an institute for clinical practice so that students may establish their correct views and identity.

  • 국내 아웃도어 시장에서 브랜드들 간의 경쟁이 점점 더 심화되고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 브랜드간의 차별화된 이미지와 아이덴티티의 확립은 매우 중요하다. 본 사례는 국내 토종브랜드인 블랙야크의 브랜드아이덴티티 강화전략과정과 그 성과에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. 블랙야크는 정통 등산아웃도어 이미지를 유지하면서 다양한 사회공헌활동을 전개함으로써 대중성을 높이는 전략을 실행하고 있다. 사회공헌활동이나 대의명분 마케팅을 통한 브랜드 강화전략은 매우 효과적인 것으로 분석된다.

Is Sorting Hat in Harry Potter Identity Identifier for Adolescents?

  • This study analyzes the role of the Sorting Hat in structuring the identity of the characters in the Harry Potter series written by J. K. Rowling. In the different stages of adolescence, one explores and re-establishes one's identity. One's sense of identity is determined by the commitments made regarding personal and social traits. However, it is difficult to establish a concrete identity formation process theory that is communicable to adolescents. In Harry Potter, the characters' identities are reflected upon the Sorting Hat and are continuously molded throughout the book. The Sorting Hat provides nurturing experiences based on temperament. Based primarily on their temperament, it sorts the students into four houses, each with their own distinct characteristics. Once sorted, the houses become the living and learning communities in which the students share the same dormitory and classes until their graduation. Within the community, the students seek connections, supportive relationships, and understanding within the group. The taking on of the group identity is an explanatory variable in the formation of individual identity. The Sorting Hat provides the students with stability and a safe boundary. After being sorted based on their temperament, the inexperienced and immature adolescents can explore different options under the guidance of the Hat before making a definite commitment. By presenting them with an appropriate environment (such as a mentor, friend, or family member), the Hat further shapes their identity and integrates the identity elements ascribed in the beginning. By providing experiences and interactions based on their unique temperament and environment, the Sorting Hat plays a crucial role in establishing the students' identities. The Sorting Hat can be an ideal model for finding one's identity during adolescence.

An Efficient Anonymous Authentication Scheme with Secure Communication in Intelligent Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks

  • Vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) have become increasingly significant in intelligent transportation systems, they play a great role in improving traffic safety and efficiency. In the deployment of intelligent VANETs, intelligent vehicles can efficiently exchange important or urgent traffic information and make driving decisions. Meanwhile, secure data communication and vehicle's identity privacy have been highlighted. To cope with these security issues, in this paper, we construct an efficient anonymous authentication scheme with secure communication in intelligent VANETs. Combing the ElGamal encryption technique with a modified Schnorr signature technique, the proposed scheme provides secure anonymous authentication process for encrypted message in the vehicle-to-infrastructure communication model, and achieves identity privacy, forward security, and reply attack resistance simultaneously. Moreover, except the trusted authority (TA), any outside entity cannot trace the real identity of an intelligent vehicle. The proposed scheme is designed on an identity-based system, which can remove the costs of establishing public key infrastructure (PKI) and certificates management. Compared with existing authentication schemes, the proposed scheme is much more practical in intelligent VANETs.
