Exact Confidence Intervals on the Regression Coeffcients in Multiple Regression Model with Nested Error Structure

  • In regression model with nested error structure interval estimations on regression coefficients in different stages are proposed. Ordinary least square estimators and generalized least square estimators of the regression coefficients in this model are derived for between and within group model. The confidence intervals are dervied by using independent idstributional properties between regression coefficient estimators and quadratic froms obtained from the model.

  • In this study, the several control laws and switching planes are considered to eliminate the steady state error and to obtain the rapid response for variable structure control systems. An elimination algorithm is achieved by combination with each other control law, and the type of control law having the most rapid response is shown through some simulations.

  • Digital Variable Structure Controller(DVSC) is proposed to control variable speed recirculating pump for hot-water heating control system. In this study, nonlinear sliding line is used beyond output error boundary layer and PID sliding line is used within the layer. For long dead time compensation, constraint is added to Smith predictor algorithm. Steady state error is eliminated by using the proposed sliding line in spite of heating load change. By decreasing sampling time, good sliding motion is yielded but system output noise bv flow dynamics is amplified.

  • Those who are interested in making inferences concerning linear combination of variance components in a simple linear regression model with unbalanced nested error structure can use the confidence intervals proposed in this paper. Two approximate confidence intervals for the sum of two variance components in the model are proposed. Simulation study is peformed to compare the methods.

  • A new speed controller based on the fuzzy algorithm with hierarchical structure is presented. The input variables of the controller are speed error and its derivative(change of error), where the output variable is the change of torque current command. Several comparisons were performed with conventional PI (proportional plus integral) controller and proposed controller. These controllers are applied to the laboratory model drive system with 2.2kW induction motor. Some simulation and experimental results show that the speed controller using fuzzy algorithm is more robust than the conventional PI controller.

  • The scanning type XY stage is frequently used these days as precision positioning system in equipment for semiconductor or display element. It is requested higher velocity and more precise accuracy for higher productivity and measuring performance. The position accuracy of general stage is primarily affected by the geometric errors caused by parasitic motion of stage, misalignments such as perpendicular error, and thermal expansion of structure. In the case of scanning type stage, H type frame is usually used as base stage which is driven by two actuators such as linear motor. In the point view of scanning process, the stage is used in moving motion. Therefore, dynamic variation is added as significant position error source with other parasitic motion error. Because the scanning axis is driven by two actuators with two position detectors, 2 dimensional position errors have different characteristic compared to general tacked type XY stage. In this study 2D position error of scanning stage is analyzed by 1D heterodyne interferometer calibrator, which can measure 1D linear position error, straightness error, yaw error and pitch error, and perpendicular error. The 2D position error is evaluated by diagonal measurement (ISO230-6). The yaw error and perpendicular error are compensated on the base stage of scanning axis. And, the horizontal straightness error is compensated by cross axis compensation. And, dynamic motion error in scanning motion is analyzed.

5MW급 해상풍력발전기 모노파일 기초의 수직도 오차에 따른 거동 분석 (Behavior Analysis by Verticality Error of Monopile Foundation for 5MW Offshore Wind Turbine)

  • 일반적으로 해양 말뚝기초의 경우 해양 환경적 영향 및 시공상의 오차로 인해 수직도 오차가 필연적으로 발생한다. 해양구조물의 경우 수평하중이 아닌 수직하중에 의해 설계가 지배적이나, 해상풍력발전기 기초의 경우 수평하중이 지배적이며, 블레이드 회전에 의한 동적인 운동을 하는 구조형식으로 수직도 오차가 구조적으로 중요한 영향을 끼칠 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 5MW급 해상풍력발전기 모노파일 기초의 수직도 오차에 따른 기초와 지반의 구조응답 특성을 분석하였다. 해양환경하중은 ISO 기준에 의해 산정하였으며, 수직도 오차 범위는 $L/{\infty}$(=0), L/300, L/200 및 L/100로 선정하였다. 해석결과 수직도 오차가 없는 모노파일에 비해 L/100 오차를 갖는 지반의 부재력 최대 값이 약 7.2%정도 더 증가되는 것으로 분석되었다.

공작기계 오차 모델링과 보정에 관한 연구 (On Error Modeling and Compensation of Machine Tools)

  • The use of composite hyperpatch model is proposed to predict a machine tool positional error over the entire work space. This is an appropriate representation of the distorted work space. This model is valid for any configuration of 3-axis machine tool. Tool position, which is given NC data or CL data, contains error vector in actual work space. In this study, off-line compensation scheme was investigated for tool position error due to inaccuracy in machine tool structure. The error vector in actual work space is corrected by the error model using Newton-Raphson method. The proposed error compensation method shows the possibility of improving machine accuracy at a low cost.

국내 철도사고 및 운행장애의 인적오류 유형 분석 (Human Error Analysis on the Domestic Railway Accident and Incident)

  • Human error is one of the major contributors to the railway accidents or incidents. In order to develop an effective countermeasure to remove or reduce human errors, a systematic analysis should be preferentially performed to identify their causes, characteristics, and types of human error induced in accidents or incidents. This paper introduces a case study for human error analysis of the railway accidents and incidents. For the case study, more than 1,000 domestic railway accidents or incidents that happened during the year of 2004 have been investigated and a detailed error analysis was performed on the selected 90 cases, which were obviously caused by human error. This paper presents a classification structure for human error analysis, and summarizes the analysis results such as causes of the events, error modes and types, related worker, and task type.

단일 구동 3축 MEMS자이로스코프의 구적 오차 저감을 위한 설계 기법에 관한 연구 (A study on Quadrature error Reduction of Design Methodology in a Single Drive 3-Axis MEMS Gyroscope)

  • In this paper, we have studied the quadrature error reduction for the single drive 3-axis MEMS Gyroscope. There was a limitation of the previous study which is the z-axis quadrature error was large. To reduce this value, design methodologies were presented. And the methodologies included a different mesh application, z-rate spring structure change, and mass compensation for balancing of the structure. We conducted the modal analysis, drive mode analysis and sense mode analysis using COMSOL Multiphysics. As a result, a drive resonant frequency was 26003 Hz, with the x-sense, y-sense, z-sense being 26749 Hz, 26858 Hz, 26920 Hz, respectively. And the Mechanical sensitivity was computed at 2000 degrees per second(dps) input angular rate while the sensitivity for roll, pitch, and yaw was computed 0.011, 0.012, and 0.011 nm/dps respectively. And z-axis quadrature error was successfully improved, 2.78 nm to 0.95 nm, which the improvement rate was about 66 %.
