The Vacancies-in-Solid Model Applied to Sublimation Pressure, Enthalpies and Entropies of Sublimation, and Enthalpies and Entropies of Solid Krypton and Xenon

  • Thermodynamic properties such as sublimation pressures, enthalpies and entropies of sublimation, enthalpies and entropies of solid krypton and xenon are calculated from $0{\circ}K$ to the triple point, using the vacancies-in-solid model. The Mie-Lennard-Jones 12,6 potential in uniform potential field is used. The results are compared with the calorimetric and sublimation pressure values, and are in a good agreement with the available calorimetric and sublimation pressure values.

  • Some inequalities for quantum f-divergence of matrices are obtained. It is shown that for normalised convex functions it is nonnegative. Some upper bounds for quantum f-divergence in terms of variational and ${\chi}^2-distance$ are provided. Applications for some classes of divergence measures such as Umegaki and Tsallis relative entropies are also given.

  • For a switched system with constraint on switching sequences, which is also called a subshift action, on a metric space not necessarily compact, two kinds of topological entropies, average topological entropy and maximal topological entropy, are introduced. Then we give some properties of those topological entropies and estimate the bounds of them for some special systems, such as subshift actions generated by finite smooth maps on p-dimensional Riemannian manifold and by a family of surjective endomorphisms on a compact metrizable group. In particular, for linear switched systems on ${\mathbb{R}}^p$, we obtain a better upper bound, by joint spectral radius, which is sharper than that by Wang et al. in [42,43].

Transmuted new generalized Weibull distribution for lifetime modeling

  • The Weibull family of lifetime distributions play a fundamental role in reliability engineering and life testing problems. This paper investigates the potential usefulness of transmuted new generalized Weibull (TNGW) distribution for modeling lifetime data. This distribution is an important competitive model that contains twenty-three lifetime distributions as special cases. We can obtain the TNGW distribution using the quadratic rank transmutation map (QRTM) technique. We derive the analytical shapes of the density and hazard functions for graphical illustrations. In addition, we explore some mathematical properties of the TNGW model including expressions for the quantile function, moments, entropies, mean deviation, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves and the moments of order statistics. The method of maximum likelihood is used to estimate the model parameters. Finally the applicability of the TNGW model is presented using nicotine in cigarettes data for illustration.

  • 반경험적 분자궤도함수법인 MINDO/3방법을 사용하여 수소원자 전달반응인$ RNH_2+CH_3{\to} RNH+CH_4$(여기서 R=H, $CH_3$)에 관해 연구하였다. 그결과 $CH_3$$NH_3$간에 안정한 착물의 존재가 예상되었다. 또한 이들 반응들에 대한 활성화엔트로피를 포함해서 활성화파라메타를 결정하였으며 그 결과 절대엔트로피와 활성화 엔트로피의 경우에 비교가 가능한 곳에는 ab initio 및 실험결과와 잘 일치하였다.

한글 음절의 초성, 중성, 종성 단위의 발생확률, 엔트로피 및 평균상호정보량 (Entropy and Average Mutual Information for a 'Choseong', a 'Jungseong', and a 'Jongseong' of a Korean Syllable)

  • A Korean syllable is regarded as a random variable according to its probabilistic property in occurrence. A Korean syllable is divided into a 'choseong', a 'jungseong', and a 'jongseong' which are regarded as random variables. From the cumulative freaquency of a Korean syllable all possible joint probabilities and conditional probabilities are computed for the three ramdom variables. From the joint probabilities and the conditional probabilities all possible joint entropies and conditional entropies are computed for the three random varibles. Also all possible average mutual informations are calculated for the three random variables. Average mutual informatin between two random variables hss its biggest value between choseong and jungseong. Average mutual information between a random variable and other two random variables has its biggest value between jungseong and choseong-jongseong.

  • C.E.Shannon에 의하여 정보이론의 기초가 확립된 이래 각국언어에 대한 많은 연구가 발표되고 있다. 마찬가지로 한글 element(요소)를 정보공학에 적용하기 위해서는 한글 정보원을 구성하는 모든 element(요소)에 대한 확률이 적용되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 그간 누락된 Space(공백소)가 포함되었을 때의 엔트로피(entropy)와 리던던시(redundancy)를 고려하였다. 따라서 본 결과는 기존 각종 한글 정보처리장치의 재평가 및 새로운 정보장치의 코-드(code)화에 있어서 수요한 자료로서 사용될 것이다.

ONLINE TEST BASED ON MUTUAL INFORMATION FOR TRUE RANDOM NUMBER GENERATORS

  • Shannon entropy is one of the widely used randomness measures especially for cryptographic applications. However, the conventional entropy tests are less sensitive to the inter-bit dependency in random samples. In this paper, we propose new online randomness test schemes for true random number generators (TRNGs) based on the mutual information between consecutive ${\kappa}$-bit output blocks for testing of inter-bit dependency in random samples. By estimating the block entropies of distinct lengths at the same time, it is possible to measure the mutual information, which is closely related to the amount of the statistical dependency between two consecutive data blocks. In addition, we propose a new estimation method for entropies, which accumulates intermediate values of the number of frequencies. The proposed method can estimate entropy with less samples than Maurer-Coron type entropy test can. By numerical simulations, it is shown that the new proposed scheme can be used as a reliable online entropy estimator for TRNGs used by cryptographic modules.

  • 자유에너지는 물질의 상대적인 안정도를 나타낸다. 수용액에 존재하는 이온의 종류는 다양하고 실험조건이 광범위하므로 열역학 자료가 부족하다. 이온의 표준생성엔탈피와 엔트로피로부터 표준수화엔탈피와 표준수화엔트로피의 절대값과 상대값을 구하는 방법을 설명하였다. 또한 대응원리를 이용하여 고온에서 열역학 자료를 추산하는 방법을 설명하였다.

Calculation of Data Reliability with Entropy for Fuzzy Sets

  • Measuring uncertainty for fuzzy sets has been carried out by calculating fuzzy entropy. Fuzzy entropy of fuzzy set is derived with the help of distance measure. The distance proportional value between the fuzzy set and the corresponding crisp set is designed as the fuzzy entropy. The usefulness is verified by proving the proposed entropy. Generally, fuzzy entropy contains the complementary characteristics that the fuzzy entropies of fuzzy set and complementary fuzzy set have the same entropies. Discrepancy that low fuzzy entropy did not guarantee the data certainty was overcome by modifying fuzzy entropy formulation. Obtained fuzzy entropy is analyzed and discussed through simple example.
