제3의 어업 : 즐기는 어업 (The Third Fishery: Enjoyable Fishery)

  • While the life in the fishing villages in old days was characterized by accepting the sea as destiny by birth, it became an industrial one nowadays with industry - scale fisheries as the mainstream. It is expected, however, that nature - friendly life will be prevailing in the fishing villages in the future In these days, the status of fishing village is on a very terrible situation due to the decrease in population, low income, environment destruction, and so on. However, the fishing village should be revitalized because of its public benefits at least. Recently, a kind of affirmative appearance in fishing village is that people who are willing to visit fishing village are increasing. The fishermen are supposed to use this opportunity for its economic and social interests. This paper suggests a kind of way, enjoyable fishery after catching and farming fishery, to use it. Enjoyable fishery consists of watching (learning by observation) fishery and doing (experience) fishery. The example of watching fishery is inspecting the fixed net fishery, doing fishery is experience of small dragnet fishery. The activation devices of the enjoyable fishery are suggested as follows; 1) fixing the identification of regional tourism 2) the development of regional enjoyable 3) opening of one day's fisherman school. 4) networking with fishing village amenity improvement 5) driving sisterhood system with urban area.

Student Experiences in a Multimodal Composition Class

  • Despite the social turn in literacy studies, few empirical studies have investigated the practical applications and learning experiences of multimodal composition pedagogy. Using a qualitative research approach, this study examines undergraduates' experiences in producing multimodal texts. Findings report that students' experiences in a multimodal composition class epitomize enjoyable learning. Students enjoyed their learning process because (a) the multimodal literacy curriculum filled the pedagogical gap between the conventional school-sponsored alphabetic literacy pedagogy and widespread out-of-school multimodal literacy practices and (b) the usefulness of the curriculum helped students enhance their intrinsic motivation to learn and compose. By questioning fundamental assumptions about what counts as knowledge in the current ecology of literacies, the authors argue for a dynamic view of literacy into practice.

청소년을 위한 '이동과학교실' 사례연구를 통한 재미있는 과학의 특성 연구 (Young People's Enjoyment of Science through the 'Mobile Science Lab' Program)

  • The 'Mobile Science Lab' is a public program designed to bring teenagers to be engaged in the activities of science and technology. In this study, we attended to elementary school students' participating actions in the program and intended to understand their enjoyment of science from sociocultural and practical perspectives. By drawing on case materials culled from our database, we articulated the features of the enjoyable science activities in the form of two major claims. First, students had rich opportunities to communicate emotionality, which therefore grounds emerging actions on the positive emotional valence. Second, ongoing actions opened up new action possibilities not only to the actors themselves, but also to other community members. The results of this study constitute theoretical frameworks for understanding enjoyment without dichotomizing emotion and cognition, and thereby contribute to designing enjoyable activities of learning science.

와세다대학교-강원대학교 원격수업을 위한 의사소통 중심의 영어수업 모형개발 (The role of CCDL in the EFL classroom)

  • This study explains a cooperative project between Kangwon National University (KNU) and Waseda University(WU), so called CCDLP (Cross-Cultural Distance Learning Project). The purpose of this project is to enhance the English proficiency of students at both universities by making their learning environments enjoyable and fruitful. The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the role of CCDL in the EFL classroom by discussing (1) how to create the situations where students at both universities get to know and understand each other through modern technologies, (2) how to encourage the students to work closely together VC (Video Conferencing), TeleMeet, chat systems, and e-mail, and (3) how to provide a new style of learning and teaching L2. The results from a questionnaire and a grammaticality judgment test show that students have a sense of satisfaction and achievement in the English proficiency at the end of the project. The result of this project will be of great importance for future works in the use of communication systems in L2 learning and teaching.

The Learning of Mathematical Algorithms and Formulas without Understanding or Flair

  • School children in Brunei Darussalam, as elsewhere, learn how to apply a lot of algorithms and formulas in mathematics. These include methods of finding the lowest common multiple and highest common multiple of numbers and methods of factorizing quadratics. Investigations and experience have shown that both able and less able students learn to do these mechanically and unimaginatively and in a way that is reliable when answering examination questions. Most of them do not, however, learn these algorithms and methods so as to develop a deeper insight of what they learn and thereby perform even more effectively in examinations. Yet it is possible to teach these and other methods for understanding in ways that are enjoyable and enable students to use them effectively and with flair.

  • 본 연구에서는 초등학교 5학년 학생들을 대상으로 구조중심 협동학습을 적용한 문제 만들기 학습이 수학학업성취도 및 수학적 성향에 어떠한 효과가 있는지를 분석하여 초등학교 학습지도에 도움을 줄 수 있는 교수-학습 방법을 제공하기 위한 것이다. 여기서 활용한 문제 만들기 학습 유형은 송민정(2004)의 내용을 참고로 하였으며, 협동학습 구조를 수업 시에 적절히 활용함으로써 학생들에게 수학에 대한 관심과 흥미를 유발시켜서 학업성취도 및 수학적 성향에 긍정적인 영향이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

초등영어에서 인형극을 활용한 듣기.말하기 능력 향상방안 (Developing English listening and speaking skills by using puppetry in elementary schools)

  • This paper is to help the students in elementary schools develop and improve their English listening and speaking skills by presenting effective teaching and learning techniques using puppetry. It is absolutely obvious that listening and speaking are very important skills for most EFL students. Using puppets in the classroom is a creative English teaching technique which can involve authentic, communicative language situations. Moreover, puppets appeal to children and can aid in lowering affective filters thereby creating a more comfortable learning environment. The study clearly showed that using puppets is feasible and enjoyable in elementary English classes. However, caution must be exercised in drawing and generalizing conclusions from this experience. The results of the experiment are as follows: First, using puppetry in the English class was found to have positive influence on students' affective domains (interst, attitude). Second, using puppets in the English classes was found to be efficient for improving students' English listening and speaking skills. Third, appropriate materials should be selected and well thought-out plans should be made to be successful English class using puppetry. Perhaps the most interesting line of future research is to use qualitative research to examine the effect of this technique on the teacher variable. Further research is recommended, especially on using puppetry for speaking proficiency and creating affectively comfortable learning atmospheres.

종합설계과목의 협동학습에서 셀프 리더십과 팀웍간의 관계 (Relationship between Self-leadership and Teamwork in Cooperative Learning of Capstone Design)

  • 본 연구는 팀 중심의 과제 수행이 요구되는 종합설계과목의 협동학습에서 스스로에게 영향력을 행사함으로써 자율성과 책임감을 강조하는 셀프 리더십이 팀웍과 어떤 관계를 갖고 있는지를 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 그 결과, 셀프 리더십은 팀웍과 유의미한 상관관계를 나타냈고, 셀프 리더십이 높은 학생들의 팀웍이 셀프 리더십이 낮은 학생들의 팀웍보다 더 높았다. 또한 셀프 리더십의 여러 전략들 중에서 특히 인지적 전략(자연보상을 주는 활동을 일에 도입하기, 일의 좋은 면에 초점 맞추기, 자연보상의 분별)이 팀웍에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 종합해볼 때, 공학교육과정에 셀프 리더십의 인지적 전략들을 학습할 수 있는 프로그램을 도입하는 것이 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다.

사회복무요원 직무교육 재미요인과 학습만족, 몰입 간 관계 분석 (Analysis of the Relationships among Fun, the Learning Satisfaction, and the Flow in Social Service Personnel Job Training Education)

  • 재미는 누구나 느끼고 싶어 하는 인간의 기본적 욕구이지만, 교육과 재미를 접목시킨 연구는 스포츠와 게임 분야를 제외하고는 극히 제한적이었다. 따라서 본 연구는 실제 교육 현장에서 나타난 재미에 초점을 두고, 이를 통해 학습효과를 높일 수 있다는 전제 하에서 출발하였다. 특히, 본인의 의사와 상관없이 의무교육으로 이루어지는 교육에서 재미가 더 필요할 것으로 판단하고, 의무적으로 2주간의 직무교육을 받고 있는 사회복무요원을 연구 대상으로 선정하였다. 실제 사회복무요원 직무교육에서 나타난 재미요인이 학습효과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 파악하기 위해 몰입, 학습만족 간의 인과관계를 구조방정식 모형을 통해 증명하였다. 이를 통해 재미와 교육의 접합점을 찾고 재밌는 교육이 학습 효과와 실제 관련이 있는지, 나아가 사회복무요원에 한정하지 않고 모든 비자발적 성향을 지닌 학습자에게 재밌는 교육의 필요성을 강조할 수 있는 기회가 될 것이다.

프로젝트기반학습을 적용한 간호학개론 수업 사례연구: 성찰일지 내용분석 (A Case Study on application of Project-Based Learning in Introduction to Nursing Science Class: by Contents Analysis of the Reflection Journals)

  • 본 연구는 프로젝트기반 간호학개론 수업을 설계하고 이를 적용한 후 학생들의 경험과 의미를 분석하고자 시행된 사례연구이다. 연구대상은 S시 소재 G대학교 간호학과 학생 중 2021년과 2022년에 간호학개론 교과목을 수강한 총 95명의 학생이었다. 자료수집은 2021년 9월부터 2022년 12월까지 이루어졌고 자료분석은 간호학개론 수업 프로젝트 활동이 종료된 후 학생들이 제출한 성찰일지를 내용분석법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 4개의 범주, 9개의 주제가 도출되었고, 4개의 범주는 「어려운 공부도 쉽게」, 「신기하고 재미있는 학습 경험」, 「단단해진 팀워크」, 「제한된 발표의 아쉬움」이었다. 프로젝트기반 학습법은 간호학개론 교육에 효과적이며 적용 가능한 학습법이었으며, 더 나아가 학생들의 태도 및 학습에 긍정적인 효과가 있음이 확인되었다. 그러나 일개 대학교 학생에게 적용한 결과인 만큼 향후 반복적인 연구와 간호학과 다른 교과목 교육에서도 적용하여 그 효과를 검증할 것을 제언한다.
