근로시간에 따른 근로자들의 직무스트레스 (The Relationship between working Time and Job Stress)

  • Purpose: This study analyzed the amount of stress and the different effects according to the working times(hours) of a week in two groups: more than 40 hours a week and less than 40 hours a week. Method: The study was conducted from November 1st 2005 to December 15th 2005. The purpose of the study has already been explained in the experiment objectives. 20 copies of evaluation forms were sent by mail to 50 different health sections of participating work sites. A total of 1,000 copies were sent out and 870 were sent back. Within the forms, sent back 120 copies had insufficient data, so 750 copies of evaluation forms were analyzed. Result: Working stress for under 40 hours of working time showed a total of 46.10 points and 47.18 for over 40 hours of working time. For over 40 hours, job demand and occupational climate was high and under 40 hours showed a high rate of job control. For under 40 hours of working time, the factors that caused stress were female, irregular diet habit, age of 30's, nonmanufacturing, and single. For over 40 hours of working time, the factors that causes stress were age of over 40, when the number of employees is 500~999, high rate of fatigue, when the position of the employee is higher then section chief, and when the work amount is high. Conclusion: The stress rate showed significantly higher in over 40 hours of working time. Therefore, adequate working hour distribution and health promotion programs are needed. The factors that cause stress in both under and over 40 hours of working time differed. Therefore, a distinguished program to control work stress for additional working time is needed.

흡연, 음주, 운동과 건강생활양식 (The health lifestyle of adults related to smoking, drinking and exercise)

  • This study is a descriptive survey to explore the health lifestyle of adults. The study subjects are teachers of elementary. middle and high school. and staffs of research institutes located in Chungchung Province and Daejon city. The data was collected from Jan. to march 1997 through self reporte for structured questionnaire. Fantastic check list of Wilson and Ciliska for Health Lifestyle Assessment and DSM-III-R for somatic symptom were used as tools. Data was analysed by frequency, $X^2_test$, t-test and Anova using SAS program. The results are as follows: 1. There were statistically significant differences In drinking(t=7.75, P=.000), exercise(t=-2.99, P=.003)and interpersonal relationship(t=2.22, P=.027) among 10 health lifestyle between smoking group and non-smoking group, in drinking(t=17.98, P=.000), exercise(-4.71. P=.000), and job satisfaction(t=2.22, P=.027) between drinking group and non-drinking group, and in eating habit(t=-2.00, P=.045), drinking (t=4.47, P=000), exercise (t= -16.49, P=000), keeping traffic law(t= -2.68, P=.007), personality (t= -2.05, P=.040) and anxiety/depression(t=-3.47, P=.000) between exercise group and non-exercise group. 2. There was statistically significant difference in cardiovascular symptom(F=4.22, P=.0l) among somatic symptoms of subjects according to exercise level. 3. There was statistically significance difference in lifestyle according to smoking level(F=, 3.33, P=.011), drinking level(F=9.17, P=.0001) and exercise level(F=11.93, P=.000l), and in somatic symptom according to sex(t=-3.93, P=.0001), weight(F=3.83, P=.022), exercise level (F=3.29, P=.03) among general characteristics. 4. There was statistically significant difference between sex in general (t= -3.64, P=.0001), gastrointestinal(t=-2.21, P=.02), musculoskeletal(t=-3.92, P=.001), and total symptom (t= -3.92, P=.0001). 5. There was statistically very highly signigicant difference In weight according to smoking($x^2=25.18,\; P=.001)$ and exercise$(x^2=16.46,\; P=001)$. 6. There was statistically significant difference in frequency between smoking group, drinking group and exercise group$(x^2=24.52,\;P=.001)$. Among a number of habit, smoking, drinking and exercise are important factors of human health to prevent related disease morbidity and death. It is essential for industrial health nurse to committ in this subject considering the influence of those factors and lifestyle on health. There is also a relationship of weight with smoking and exercise, the frequency of overweight/obesiy in smoking/ no-exercise group were high. It is quite necessary for the people having cardiovascular symptom to exercise to lower morbidity and mortality. The industrial health nurse has to keep In mind on this point and consider of time and facilities of fitness of employee. It needs to explore the cause by further research on somatic symptom of women. This research shows that concerning the relationship between smoking, drinking, and exercise, health care provider must take not only management of disease, but health behaviors and lifestyle into consideration.

근로자의 건강상태 추이 분석 -고혈압, 간장질환 환자대조군 연구- (Analysis of the Trend of Employee's Health Status -Case Control Study for Hypertensive, Liver Diseased Employees-)

  • The periodic health examination have been shown the important role on early detection, early treatment and prevention of disease. Until now, there have been many studies that showed the effectiveness of the periodic health examination on the early detection and early treatment of disease to some extent. But there are few studies about primary prevention before health problem arise. In this case-control study, 29 newly detected hypertensive cases, 31 liver disease cases and 65 controls which are all available for 6-year data in the periodic health examination of a occupational field were compared to investigate the significant increase trend of health status between the groups. The results will be used for the occupational health nurses to provide appropriate primary prevention to the employees. The hypertensive and liver disease cases were divided observation-needed group and treatment-needed group. The data on systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, Body Mass Index and Broca Index in hypertensive cases and SGOT, SGPT, Body Mass Index and Broca Index in liver disease cases were analyzed by t-test and ANOVA. The specific findings are summarized as follows. 1. In the comparison between the hypertensive cases and controls, SBP and DBP of the observation-needed group and the treatment-needed group were significantly higher than the data of the controls for past 6 years. It was 2-3 years ago showing increase over 140/90mmHg of blood pressure in the hypertensive cases before they are categorized as hypertensive cases. In the observation-needed group and the treatment-needed group, the trend of the blood pressure for 6 years were significantly higher than the one of the controls. 2. In the comparison between the liver disease cases and controls, SGOT and SGPT of the observation-needed group and the treatment-needed group were significantly higher than the data of the controls for past 6 years. It was 2 years ago showing increase within upper normal limit of SGOT and 5 years ago of SGPT in the liver disease cases before they are categorized as liver disease cases. In the observation-needed group and the treatment-needed group, the trend of the liver enzyme for 6 years were significantly higher than the one of the controls. With these results, the author proposed that intervention for the primary prevention such as continuous follow-up, health education and weight control to the population who has over 140/90mmHg of blood pressure and upper normal limit of AST and ALT.

중소기업의 사업환경 인식, 기업 역량, 경영자 역량이 사업중단의도에 미치는 영향: 사업자신감의 매개효과 (Effect of SMEs' Business Environment Perception, Corporate Competency, and Managerial Competency on Intention to Discontinue Business of CEOs: Mediating Effect of Business Confidence)

  • 2020년 초부터 전세계에 확산된 코로나 팬데믹, 4차 산업혁명의 가속화, 미중 갈등과 우크라이나 사태로 촉발된 공급망관리 리스크 등 최근에 체감하는 기업경기는 과거 어느 때보다 심각한 편이다. 중소기업을 창업하여 경영하고 있는 CEO들은 이러한 현실속에서 기업의 지속성에 대하여 어느 때보다 고민하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 중소기업 CEO의 사업중단의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 실증적인 연구는 거의 없는 편이다. 본 연구에서는 중소기업의 사업환경(주력 사업분야의 경쟁강도, 인력수급 및 관리의 난이도) 인식, 기업 역량(직원역량, 기업의 제품 혹은 서비스 경쟁력, 공급망 및 수요자 관계, 디지털 역량 및 기술전문성), 경영자 역량(직원들과 경영자간 신뢰, 경영자의 관리역량, 경영자의 인지된 건강상태)이 CEO의 사업중단의도에 미치는 영향에 관하여 중소기업 CEO 260명을 대상으로 실증적으로 논의하였다. 연구 결과, 주력사업분야의 경쟁강도, 인력 수급 및 관리의 난이도가 사업중단의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤고, 직원역량, 제품(서비스) 경쟁력, 기업의 디지털 역량 및 기술전문성, CEO의 건강상태가 사업중단의도에 부(-)의 영향을 미쳤다. 이들의 영향 관계는 CEO의 건강상태, 제품(서비스) 경쟁력, 직원역량, 디지털역량 및 기술전문성, 주력사업의 경쟁강도, 인력의 수급 및 관리 난이도 순으로 나타났다. 공급망 및 수요자 관계, 직원과 CEO간 신뢰, 경영자의 관리역량은 사업중단의도에 유의미한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 한편, 사업자신감은 주력사업분야의 경쟁강도, 인력 수급 및 관리의 난이도, 제품(서비스) 경쟁력, 디지털 역량 및 기술전문성, CEO와 직원간 신뢰, 경영자의 관리 역량과 사업중단의도 간 매개효과가 있는 것으로 검정되었다. 본 연구는 중소기업 CEO들을 대상으로 사업중단의도에 관한 요인들을 실증적으로 분석하였다는 점에서 학술적인 의의가 있다. 실무적으로는 사업환경 인식, 기업 역량, 경영자 역량, 사업자신감이 사업중단의도에 영향을 미치는 요인임이 밝혀짐에 따라 이 부분을 보강할 수 있는 실행 아이디를 찾을 수 있다면 중소기업이 지속성장하거나 의미있는 출구를 찾는데 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.

직장인 음주와 직무수행과의 관계 (Employee Drinking and Work Performance)

  • 지금까지 우리나라의 직장인 음주 연구들은 '근무시간 외 음주'에 초점을 두었기 때문에 '근무시간 중 음주'와 직무수행과의 관계는 잘 알려지지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 직장인 음주에 '근무시간 외 음주' 뿐만 아니라 '근무시간 중 음주'에도 주목하고 직무수행과의 관계를 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상자는 서울 N구의 보건복지 관련기관 종사자 577명이다. 연구결과, 지난 한 달 동안 근무시간 중에 음주를 한 경험이 있다고 응답한 경우는 전체 대상자의 49.3%였고, 대부분(48.2%)이 음주회식을 한 것으로 나타났다. '근무시간 중 음주'와 '근무시간 외 음주'와 직무수행 간의 관계를 살펴본 결과, '근무시간 중 음주'는 '결근하였다'와 '직장에서 몸을 다쳤다'는 문항을 제외한 모든 직무수행 문제와 유의미한 관계를 보인 반면 '근무시간 외 음주'는 직무수행 문제들 중에서 '일을 잘 하지 못했다'라는 문항하고만 관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 인구사회학적 요인, '근무시간 중 음주', '근무시간 외 음주' 모두를 함께 독립변수로 투입하여 회귀분석을 한 결과, 남성과 건강상태, 직무기간, '근무시간 중 음주'가 직무수행과 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 직장인 음주에서 특히 '근무시간 중 음주'가 직무수행에 부정적인 영향을 미치고 있으며 '근무시간 중 음주'의 대부분을 차지하는 음주회식에 대한 보다 면밀한 관심이 필요함을 보여준다.

PSR 모델을 적용한 근로환경조사 지표 개발 (A Study on Health-related PSR Model using Korean Working Conditions Survey Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 업종에 따른 다양한 근로환경 요인들을 파악하고 관련 분야의 산업안전보건 정책을 판단할 수 있도록 근로환경조사 기초자료를 분석하여 사회요인을 고려한 지수 및 지표 개발을 목표로 하였다. 지표개발을 위해 OECD에서 제시하는 지표개발 가이드라인과 해외의 지표개발 사례들을 벤치마킹하여 수행되었다. OECD의 압력-상태-대응 모형을 벤치마킹하여 건강과 관련 있는 지표들을 제시하였다. 근로환경조사의 압력-상태 건강관련 지표는 압력은 물리적 위험환경, 노동시간, 업무환경, 사회 환경으로 구성되었고, 이에 따른 상태 항목은 건강관련 항목으로 정신건강, 신체건강, 건강문제로 인한 결근, 업무 만족으로 구성되었다. 그 결과 임금근로자, 상용근로자, 관리자, 사무종사자, 전문가 및 관련 종사자, 50세 미만 근로자의 압력-상태 지표가 상대적으로 양호하였다. 반대로, 50세 이상, 자영업자, 일용 직, 농림어업 숙련직, 단순노무, 장치 기계 조립 근로자의 압력-상태 지표가 상대적으로 취약한 것으로 나타났다.

노인의료 복지시설 영양사의 업무활동 및 요구도 분석 (Analysis of the Job Activities and Demand of Dietitian in the Elderly Health-care Facilities)

  • This study was objectively performed to identify dietitians' job in the elderly health-care facilities, to assess facilities and dietitian's demographic characteristics, and to determine performance and importance of dietitian's job including the demand of therapeutic diet development. Survey was conducted by mail and samples were the dietitians working in 376 facilities which capacity is over 50 members from nationwide 583 the elderly health-care facilities. Returned questionnaire was 102 and used for statistic analysis. The distributions of the elderly health-care facilities showed 39 the elderly nursing facilities(38.2%), 32 skilled nursing facilities (32.4%), 13 geriatrics hospital facilities(12.7%) and 9 the elderly cost nursing facilities(8.8%). 60.0 percent of the samples showed its menu price as 1,000 to 1,500 won. A cycle-menu program was in-use at the 79.0% facilities, but only 7.1% facilities have been introduced a selected menu system. 92.9% facilities employed only one dietitian. In the demographic characteristics of dietitian only 14.7% dietitian had a clinical dietitian license and 51.5% of respondents answered at least 1 to 3 months internship program is needed. Job activities of the dietitian in the elderly health-care foodservice were identified as 45 activities with 9 dimensions. Job performance score evaluated dietitian oneself was 4.71 of 7 points. The average importance score that the dietitian evaluated their own job was 5.66 points of 7. The job activities shown higher importance but lower performance were therapeutic diet development for in-patients, menu development suitable for taste of the elderly, and leadership. Job performance score by characteristics of dietitian and their elderly health-care facilities was significantly associated with experience of dietitian in elderly health-care (F=4.480, p<0.05), education of dietitian(F=2.659, p<0.01), number of dietitian(F=2.245, p<0.05), and number of employee in foodservice(F=2.607, p<0.05). Most common diseases of the aged was proved as hypertension(81.7%), diabetes mellitus(71.4%), and dementia(65.0%). The therapeutic diets frequently provided were diabetes mellitus diet, dysphagia diet, low sodium diet, high fiber diet, and high protein diet, in order. For those reasons, dietitian in the elderly health care emphasized that the information about therapeutic diet development such as diabetes mellitus diet, dysphagia diet, low sodium diet and hypertension diet must be continuously developed and provided. The result from this study can be applicable to enlarge and enrich job activities of dietitian in elderly health-care foodservice.

2020년 충남지역 집단급식소에서 발생한 대형 식중독의 사례 보고 (Case Report for a Large-Scale Food Poisoning Outbreak that Occurred in a Group Food Service Center in Chungnam, Korea)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to identify the epidemiological features of a food poisoning outbreak in a company cafeteria located in Chungcheongnam-do Province, Korea in June of 2020 and to suggest preventive measures for a similar incidence. Methods: A total of 84 patients with acute gastroenteritis were examined. Environmental samples were obtained from 16 food handlers, six food utensils, 135 preserved foods served over three days and nine menus, and six drinking water samples. These are analyzed to detect viruses and bacteria. Results: Ninety-four out of the 402 people who were served meals (23.4%) predominantly showed symptoms of diarrhea, and the number was over 3 times. Among the 84 patients under investigation, 17 cases (20.2%) were positive for Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) and 18 cases were positive for Clostridium (C.) perfringens (21.4%). Based on the investigation, it was concluded that the main pathogens were EPEC and C. perfringens. For EPEC, it was detected in three of the food service employees and in the preserved food and curry rice. The results of pulsed field gel electrophoresis indicate that all EPEC cases are closely related except for one food service employee. Assuming that isolated EPEC originated from the preserved food, the incubation period is about 25 hours. The origin of the C. perfringens was not determined as it was not detected in the food service employees or environmental samples. Conclusions: This case suggests that food provided in group food service centers must be thoroughly managed. In addition, identifying the pathogens in preserved food is very important for tracing the causes of food poisoning, so food must be preserved in an appropriate condition. To prevent similar food poisoning cases, analyzing cases based on epidemiological investigation and sharing the results is needed.

일부 산업장에서의 건강증진 활동 실태 (Frequency of Workplace Health Promotion Activites)

  • 본 연구는 일부 산업장을 대상으로 근로자의 건강증진을 위한 제반 활동의 내용과 수준을 구체적으로 파악하고자 시도되었다. 연구방법은 산업안전교육원 교육 프로그램에 참여했던 안전관리자, 보건관리자등을 임의로 선정하여 648개 산업장에 관하여 설문조사하였다. 자료분석은 산업장 특성별 빈도와 백분율, 각 활동의 업종 및 규모별 실시율, 평균활동수 등을 산출하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 근로자의 건강증진과 관련된 써클활동이나 교육활동을 지원하고 있는 산업장은 전체의 66.2%를 차지하였고, 업종별로는 제조업과 운수창고업이 높았으며 규모가 클수록 지원율이 높은 경향을 보였다. 그러나, 금연, 스트레스관리, 영양지도, 여성건강관리를 위한 각종 활동에 대한 지원은 매우 적은 것으로 나타났다. 지원내용에 있어서는 주로 운영비를 지원하고, 장소 및 시설을 마련해주는 수준임을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 작업장내에서는 금연을 하도록 하는 정책을 갖고 있는 산업장이 전체의 24.9%였고, 회사 전체에서 금연한도록 하는 경우는 48.3%를 차지하였다. 업종별로는 작업 장내 금연의 경우 제조업, 광업/건설업, 금융보험/서어비스업에서 비교적 높았고, 회사 전체 금연의 경우는 제조업과 운수창고업에서 높았다. 세째, 산업장 내에 근로자를 위하여 운동시설 및 기구를 마련해 두고 있는 산업장은 전체의 98.6%였고, 운동 시설의 평균 수는 $2.96({\pm}1.85)$개였다. 규모에 따라, 업종에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다(p=.0000, p=.0000). 회사가 지원하는 운동모임의 수는 전체 평균 $3.60({\pm}2.09)$개였으며, 규모와 업종에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다(p=.0000, p=.0000) 네째, 근로자를 위하여 식사를 제공하는 산업장은 점심식사의 경우 85.8%였고, 저녁식사 37.1%였으며 아침식사, 간식, 야식을 제공하는 산업장의 비율은 비슷한 수준이었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 우리나라에서 산업장 건강증진 프로그램 개발을 위한 정책과 관련된 제언을 할 수 있었다.

Knowledge, Attitude and Practices of Technicians Working at Hospitals Towards Testicular Cancer and Self-examination of Testicles in Turkey

  • Background: The present study was conducted to determine knowledge level of technicians working in hospitals about testicular cancer (TC) and self-examination of testicles (TSE) and to determine levels of consciousness and implementation status about TSE. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with technicians working in hospitals (n=243) between $2^{nd}$ January-$31^{st}$ May 2012 at private and governmental hospitals in urban Kayseri. Healthy control subjects (n=235) who were similar to technicians in terms of age, education level and income status were also included to the study. Chi-square test was used in comparison of categorical variables. Results: Technicians were significantly more aware of TC than controls, but the latter were found to have significantly more information about TSE. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of knowing how to do TSE and 80% of both groups were unaware this exam. Of technicians, 19.8% and of controls, 25.5% did TSE, the difference being statistically insignificant. First reason for not doing TSE was "not-knowing" among technicians (48.1%) while it was "ignorance" among controls (66.8%). Of technicians doing TSE, 37.5% did as it came to their mind while 51.7% of controls performed TSE several times in the previous year. Technicians were significantly more afraid of getting TC than controls (p=0.037). Conclusions: It was determined in the present study that rates of TSE were similar between technicians and controls. However compliance with the recommended frequency and right method was low. Consequently, public health education should be planned and applied in order to increase the knowledge of TC and TSE.
