  • Let K be an imaginary quadratic field other than ℚ(${\sqrt{-1}}$) and ℚ(${\sqrt{-3}}$), and let 𝒪K be its ring of integers. Let N be a positive integer such that N = 5 or N ≥ 7. In this paper, we generate the ray class field modulo N𝒪K over K by using a single x-coordinate of an elliptic curve with complex multiplication by 𝒪K.

  • This paper deals with the scheduling problems which are the most important subtask in High-Level Synthesis. Especially, we have concentrated our attentions on the data-path scheduling which can get the structural informations from the behavioral algorithm as a first step in synthesis procedure. Suggest Forward scheduling methode is executed the ASAP and ALAP scheduling to use the fifth – order elliptic wave filter of a standard benchmark model, and then it is drawing up T.N matrix table by the number of resource and control-step, using the table extract of the simple than down-limit value of the control-step for the number of given resource to use this table. All of existing list scheduling techniques determine the priority functions first, and then do the operation scheduling, But, the suggested forward scheduling technique does the schedule first, and determines the priority functions if needed in scheduling process.

  • We consider the system $$\{{{-{\Delta}_pu\;=\;{\lambda}f(\upsilon),\;\;\;x\;{\in}\;{\Omega}, \atop -{\Delta}_q{\upsilon}\;=\;{\mu}g(u),\;\;\;x\;{\in}\;{\Omega},} \atop u\;=\;\upsilon\;=\;0,\;\;\;x\;{\in}\;{\partial\Omega},}$$ where ${\Delta}_pu\;=\;div(|{\nabla}_u|^{p-2}{\nabla}_u)$, ${\Delta}_{q{\upsilon}}\;=\;div(|{\nabla}_{\upsilon}|^{q-2}{\nabla}_{\upsilon})$, p, $q\;{\geq}\;2$, $\Omega$ is a ball in $\mathbf{R}^N$ with a smooth boundary $\partial\Omega$, $N\;{\geq}\;1$, $\lambda$, $\mu$ are positive parameters, and f, g are smooth functions that are negative at the origin and f(x) ~ $x^m$ g(x) ~ $x^n$ for x large for some m, $n\;{\geq}\;0$ with mn < (p - 1)(q - 1). We establish the existence and uniqueness of positive radial solutions when the parameters $\lambda$ and $\mu$ are large.

  • This study concerns the existence of positive solution for the following nonlinear system $$\{-div(|x|^{-ap}|{\nabla}u|^{p-2}{\nabla}u)=|x|^{-(a+1)p+c_1}({\alpha}_1f(v)+{\beta}_1h(u)),x{\in}{\Omega},\\-div(|x|^{-bq}|{\nabla}v|q^{-2}{\nabla}v)=|x|^{-(b+1)q+c_2}({\alpha}_2g(u)+{\beta}_2k(v)),x{\in}{\Omega},\\u=v=0,x{\in}{\partial}{\Omega}$$, where ${\Omega}$ is a bounded smooth domain of $\mathbb{R}^N$ with $0{\in}{\Omega}$, 1 < $p,q$ < N, $0{{\leq}}a<\frac{N-p}{p}$, $0{{\leq}}b<\frac{N-q}{q}$ and $c_1$, $c_2$, ${\alpha}_1$, ${\alpha}_2$, ${\beta}_1$, ${\beta}_2$ are positive parameters. Here $f,g,h,k$ : $[0,{\infty}){\rightarrow}[0,{\infty})$ are nondecresing continuous functions and $$\lim_{s{\rightarrow}{\infty}}\frac{f(Ag(s)^{\frac{1}{q-1}})}{s^{p-1}}=0$$ for every A > 0. We discuss the existence of positive solution when $f,g,h$ and $k$ satisfy certain additional conditions. We use the method of sub-super solutions to establish our results.

  • To define ice as a solid material, mathematical and physical characteristics and their application examples are investigated for several materials' yield functions which include isotropic elastic, isotropic elastic-plastic, classical Drucker-Prager, Drucker-Prager Cap, Heinonen's elliptic, Derradji-Aouat's elliptic, and crushable foam models. Taking into account brittle failure mode of ice subject to high loading rate or extremely low temperature, isotropic elastic model can be better practicable than isotropic elastic-plastic model. If a failure criterion can be properly determined, the elastic model will provide relatively practicable impact force history from ice-hull interactions. On the other hand, it is thought that the soil models can better predict the ice spalling mechanism, since they contain both terms of shear stress-induced and hydrostatic stress-induced failures in the yield function.

  • An improved formulation of thin-wailed curved beams with variable curvatures based on displacement field considering the second order terms of finite semitangential rotations is presented. From linearized virtual work principle by Vlasov's assumptions, the total potential energy is derived and all displacement parameters and the warping functions are defined at cendtroid axis. In developing the thin-walled curved beam element having eight degrees of freedom per a node, the cubic Hermitian polynomials are used as shape functions. In order to verify the accuracy and practical usefulness of this study, free vibrations and buckling analyses of parabolic and elliptic arche shapes with mono-symmetric sections are carried out and compared with the results analyzed by ABAQUS' shell element.

  • This paper analyzed the magnetic field produced by the cylindrical stator coils of permanent magnet spherical motor (PMSM). The elliptic equations about the vector magnetic potential were given. Given that the eddy current effects are neglected, the magnet field of the PMSM is regarded as irrotational field, which can be calculated by scalar magnetic potential. The current density of cylindrical stator coil was proposed based on the definition of current density. The expression of current density of stator coil was obtained according to the double Fourier series decomposition and spherical harmonic functions. Then the magnetic flux density for scalar magnetic potential was derived. Further, the influence of different parameters on radial flux density was also analyzed. Finally, the results by the analytical method in this paper were validated by finite element analysis (FEA).

  • In this paper, we analyze theoritically the propagation and radiation characteristics for elliptical corrugated waveguides. The solutions of wave equations in an elliptic cylinder system are obtained in terms of Mathieu functions of 1st and 2nd kind. The electromagnetic fields in the elliptical corrugated waveguide can be represented by series and products of angular and radial Mathieu functions. By using impedence matching at the boundary between the inner region and the slot region, characteristic equations are derived. Then the characteristic equation is solved for $HE_{11}$ mode which is dominant mode in the elliptical corrugated waveguide and the fields in the aperture is calculated. And the propagation pattern for the elliptical corrugated waveguides is calculated through the field equivalence principle.

  • In this paper, we investigate a priori error estimates and superconvergence of varitional discretization for nonlinear parabolic optimal control problems with control constraints. The time discretization is based on the backward Euler method. The state and the adjoint state are approximated by piecewise linear functions and the control is not directly discretized. We derive a priori error estimates for the control and superconvergence between the numerical solution and elliptic projection for the state and the adjoint state and present a numerical example for illustrating our theoretical results.

  • In this paper, we are concerned with the nonlinear elliptic equations of the p(x)-Laplace type $$\{\begin{array}{lll}-div(a(x,{\nabla}u))+{\mid}u{\mid}^{p(x)-2}u={\lambda}f(x,u) && in\;{\Omega}\\(a(x,{\nabla}u)\frac{{\partial}u}{{\partial}n}={\lambda}{\theta}g(x,u) && on\;{\partial}{\Omega},\end{array}$$ which is subject to nonlinear Neumann boundary condition. Here the function a(x, v) is of type${\mid}v{\mid}^{p(x)-2}v$ with continuous function $p:{\bar{\Omega}}{\rightarrow}(1,{\infty})$ and the functions f, g satisfy a $Carath{\acute{e}}odory$ condition. The main purpose of this paper is to establish the existence of at least three solutions for the above problem by applying three critical points theory due to Ricceri. Furthermore, we localize three critical points interval for the given problem as applications of the theorem introduced by Arcoya and Carmona.
