This study aims to analyze the multicultural content of the Korean Elementary School Textbook revised in 2015. This study abstracted the framework of multicultural factors for analysis of multicultural contents from the research on "Revision Guidelines by Analysis of Multicultural Factors in Secondary Curriculum and Textbook". The analyzed textbook is the integrated winter textbooks for both the first and second grades revised curriculum in 2015. Several findings were represented as follows: first, the frequency of multicultural content displayed five times in first grade and nineteen times in second grade respectively. Second, the analyzed textbooks did not include contents directly associated with multiculturalism. Activities and experience is important in the acceptance of unfamiliar cultures Thus, multicultural contents' frequency of within textbooks is very crucial. Finally, the revised curriculum focused on activities and experiences about the theme and content in the textbook and was developed around block chassis. For teaching the textbook content, teachers must perfectly understand textbooks through teacher training. The textbooks of reflecting right values on multiculturalismIn. this respect, elementary school curriculum and textbook content should be improved by supplementary revision fitting for the growth of humanity in the multicultural era.

The purpose of this study was to confirm achievement of goals in science curriculum. The questionnaires related to 'solution' chapter of 5th grade were developed. The subjects were 69 sixth grade elementary school students and four elementary school teachers. 5 students were selected for deep interviews. Each interview was progressed separately, and all the contents of the interviews were recorded. As results, it is revealed that most of the students could not understand basic concepts of 'solution' chapter. The teachers and the students recognized that explanations in the textbook were insufficient. Many inquiry activities were introduced in textbooks, but the students could not acquire inquiry abilities, especially data interpretation and generalization abilities. Inadequate pictures in the textbook also disturbed the students' learning of inquiry ability. Using materials of real life in textbook could not attract the elementary school students' interests effectively.

This study aimed to analysis of concepts and inquiry activities related to the 'Earth Science' area in the South Korean elementary school textbooks to the current and to seek the improvement of future textbook. For the study, we were collected South Korean elementary school textbooks to the current. After the collection had been made, we were analyzed related to the 'Earth' area in the South Korean elementary school textbooks and were extracted central concepts and inquiry activities. The result of this study: First, there were 'A change in the land', 'Strata and Fossil', 'Volcanoes and Earthquakes', 'Earth and Moon', 'The weather', 'The Solar system and the Star', and 'Seasonal Change' in the central concepts related to the 'Earth' area in the South Korean elementary school textbooks to the current. Second, central concepts were almost the same but the curriculum was changed. Third, inquiry activities also were confirmed to be maintained with little change. This result was believed that it can provide a variety of suggestions at this point in changing the curriculum.

본 연구에서는 초등학교 수학 교과서에서 수 개념 학습과 관련하여 수직선이 어떻게 활용되고 있는지 살펴보고, 현재 교과서의 수직선 활용과 관련된 문제점을 자연수와 유리수(분수, 소수)의 개념 학습을 중심으로 분석하였다. 초등학교 수학 교과서에서 수직선의 도입 시기, 도입 내용, 활용 방법에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 수직선 활용 방안과 관련한 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to analyse the content of health-textbooks in elementary school in order to offer the basic data required for development or revision of health-textbook for elementary school. Methods: This study was methodological study of the content of health-textbooks. The study sample consisted of 10 health-textbooks of elementary school which were edited in 2009~2010. The components of contents divides into holistic analysis and specific areas. Results: One textbook was no introductory remarks and 2 textbooks were no preface. The health-textbooks consisted of 7 areas and were comprehensive for school education. The proportion of each was different in 10 textbooks. Sexuality and health was accounted for the largest portion of the seven areas in both the fifth and sixth grade. However, given that the mortality rate for the child's safety accidents is higher than in developed countries, the proportion of accident prevention and first aid can be relatively weak area. Conclusion: It is essential that health-textbooks empower schoolers to make healthy decisions through the promotion of useful life skills that provide a more integrated concept of health. Therefore, there is a need for approaches to health textbook to integrate more values of health.

현재 초등학교 학생들은 도형 영역을 어려워하고 있으며, 학교 수학에서 배운 도형 관련 지식을 실제 생활에 잘 적용시키지 못하고 있다. 도형의 성질을 제대로 알지 못하거나 도형 사이의 포함관계를 이해하지 못하며, 전형적인 예에서 조금만 벗어나면 무슨 도형인지 알아채지 못하는 학생들이 많이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 학생들이 수학의 기하적 개념들을 쉽고 재미있게 학습할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 van Hiele의 이론을 바탕으로 하여 GSP를 활용할 수 있도록 교과서를 재구성하였다. 또한 재구성한 교과서가 실제 학생들의 van Hiele 수준 상승에 어떤 효과가 있는지 살펴보고, 초등학교 도형 학습에 GSP가 활발히 활용될 수 있는 계기를 마련하는데 목적이 있다.

본 논문에서는 초등학교 교과서 말뭉치를 구축하고, 초등교과서에서 나타나는 어휘들에 대하여 통계분석을 실시하였다. 또한 초등 교과서가 일반생활에서 사용하는 어휘와 얼마나 유사한지를 살펴보기 위하여 스피어만 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과로 초등교과서의 말뭉치 구축 모습과 실제 예시를 보였고, 상관관계 분석을 통하여 초등교과서와 일반 말뭉치와의 상관관계를 수치적으로 보였다.

We have examined the perception of teachers and students in elementary schools toward the frontier science and analyzed corresponding contents in science textbooks in Korea and the U. S. in order to promote a good guidance for the frontier science education. We prepared separate questionnaires for teachers and children, respectively, and analyzed the responses obtained from 244 teachers and 1,000 students in five elementary schools. For the analysis of how to introduce the frontier science, we investigated textbooks such as Science, Society and Practical Arts of Korean elementary school, and an American science textbook published by Scott Foresman. This study revealed that teachers are well aware of the importance of the frontier science, however, they are inactive in conducting the subject in class rooms because of their insufficient scientific knowledge and poor environment for teaching. It has been found that children had strong interest in the frontier science, however, opportunities to learn the topic are not properly provided. The frontier science m the American science textbook turned out to be more systematically introduced than that in Korean ones.

To develop tailored elementary, middle, and high school textbooks suitable for understanding the nuclear energy and radiation, quantitative and qualitative research was carried out in parallel, which included nine steps to ensure the validity of content and structure. The elementary, middle, and high school students wanted to acquire information used in their daily lives, including the definition of nuclear energy and radiation, principles and status of nuclear power generation, and information about irradiated food, medical radiation, and radiation in life. In the evaluation of the effects of textbook contents according to the educational requirements of each school level, high suitability frequencies (>80%) were shown for the human character, education goals, curriculum goals, evaluation method, and education time. At some levels, the high suitability frequencies (>70%) were shown for the education grade, education type, and textbook type.

정보통신기술의 발달과 함께 학교 현장에서는 새로운 교육 패러다임을 현실화시킬 교재로서 디지털교과서를 주목하고 있다. 본 연구는 초등학생들의 디지털교과서 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 가정, 교사, 학교 요인으로 선정하여 만족도 차이를 분석하고, 이들 요인이 디지털교과서에 미치는 영향 정도를 분석하기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 충남 지역 초등학생과 학부모 각각 201명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하고, 결과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 가정 내 인터넷 이용환경, 디바이스 보유 환경, 학습 및 정보수집 용도 인터넷 활용 유무 및 활용 시간, 교사 사용 디바이스 종류, 디지털교과서 수업 시수 및 시간 비율 등의 요인에 대해 디지털교과서 만족도는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 둘째, 각 변인들의 영향력을 분석한 결과, 가정 요인의 디지털교과서에 대한 학부모의 인식이 디지털교과서 관련 만족도에 가장 많은 영향을 미치고 있었다. 본 연구는 디지털교과서 사용을 위해 어떤 노력이 필요한 지에 대한 시사점을 제공했다는 데 의의가 있다.
