  • Main functions of Generator Circuit Breaker(GCB) is cut the generator off from the main transformers and the aux. transformers when plant trip or startup. In this paper, the design requirements For GCB of nuclear power plant is examined. NRC presented the area of review, acceptance criteria and review procedures of GCB in the SRP(Standard Review Plan). In Korea, APR1400 adapted the GCB in main power system.

  • This paper concerns a three-phase self-excited induction generator used for autonomous power generation. It presents a robust control strategy which makes it possible to maintain the frequency quasi constant during the voltage regulation without any control loop on this variable. This strategy, which also prevents the machine disengagement, uses as power converter a simple dimmer. The obtained theoretical and/or numerical results are validated on a laboratory test bench that allows the analysis of this control law effectiveness.

  • PURPOSES : An conventional method for electric power generation is converting thermal energy into mechanical energy then to electrical energy. Due to environmental issues such as global warming related with $CO_2$ emission etc., were the limiting factor for the energy resources which resulting in extensive research and novel technologies are required to generate electric power. Thermal energy harvesting using thermoelectric generator is one of energy harvesting technologies due to diverse advantages for new green technology. This paper presents a possibility of application of the thermoelectric generator's application in the direct exchange of waste solar energy into electrical power in road space. METHODS : To measure generated electric power of the thermoelectric generator, data logger was adopted as function of experimental factors such as using cooling sink, connection methods etc. Also, the thermoelectric generator、s behavior at low ambient temperature was investigated as measurement of output voltage vs. elapsed times. RESULTS : A few temperature difference between top an bottom of the thermoelectric generator is generated electric voltage. Components of an electrical circuit can be connected in various ways. The two simplest of these are called series and parallel and occur so open. Series shows slightly better performance in this study. An installation of cooling sink in the thermoelectric generator system was enhanced the output of power voltage. CONCLUSIONS : In this paper, a basic concepts of thermoelectric power generation is presented and applications of the thermoelectric generator to waste solar energy in road is estimated for green energy harvesting technology. The possibility of usage of thermoelectric technology for road facilities was found under the ambient thermal gradient between two surfaces of the thermoelectric module. An experiment results provide a testimony of the feasibility of the proposed environmental energy harvesting technology on the road facilities.

  • 본 논문에서는 교량의 건전도 감시용 계측 유닛에 사용되는 충전시스템을 위한 교량의 상시진동을 이용한 자립형 진동발전기에 대하여 연구하였다. 본 연구에서는 전기자 반작용의 영향을 최소화한 진동발전기를 제안하고, 기계적 및 전기적인 설계식을 유도한 다음, 시험용 진동발전기를 제작하였다. 아울러, 실내 자유진동 실험을 수행하였고, 축전시스템에 대한 실험 결과, 정류기에 사용된 다이오드 특성이 충전과정에서 지배적임을 확인하였다. 또한, 남해대교의 진동 데이터를 Pilot 발전기에 적용하여 시뮬레이션 한 결과 진동발전기의 적용성과 효용성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • A shorted-turn test was performed at the Pyungtaek combined cycle power plant on gas. turbine generator #4. The test was conducted using a permanent flux probe and digital oscilloscope. The flux probe installed in the generator air gap, senses the field winding slot leakage flux and produces a voltage proportional to the rate of change of the flux. This pattern of flux variation is a signature unique to each field winding. We have also applied a waveform analysis technique that can identify the pole location, slot number, and number of shorted-Turns with each slot.

  • There are three main devices such as boiler producing steam, turbine driving generator and generator producing electricity. An electrical generator in power plant is driven and maintained its speed at rated by steam turbine which is coupled into generator directly. Therefore after the steam turbine reaches its rated speed and the generator gets into parallel operation with power grid, the electrical power can be increased by turbine controller or governor. The first governor was invented by James Watts for the steam engine to be maintained at a constant speed. The first governor by him was mechanical type with fly balls. The electrical type governor was created due to the progress of electronic devices such as operational amplifiers or integrated circuits. and Today digital electronic type of governor is being widely used in most prime movers.

축-토크법을 이용한 새로운 발전기 효율시험 방법의 제안 (Proposal of A Novel Generator Efficiency Test Using The Shaft-Torque Method)

  • An efficiency test for generators is generally required in case of construction of a new power plant or replacement of an existing generator. Generally, the efficiency of generator is measured by the input-output ratio under any given condition. Therefore, the best way is to directly measure the value of input and output power of a generator and calculate the efficiency values. However, it is difficult to measure a generator's input values accurately, especially for large systems. So, we are usually measuring the losses of the generator. But for measuring these values, there are several constraints for test such as preparing additional power generator and releasing the protection relay for manual operation of auxiliary equipments. Therefore, this study suggests that a novel generator efficient test method using the shaft-torque method which can be carried out while the generator is normally operating. The reliability of the result value was verified by comparing with the efficiency test results of the conventional retardation method on IEEE Std 115-1995.

  • 의료용 X-선 고전압발생장치는 작동 시 높은 용량의 입력전원이 필요하며, 만약 전원환경이 적합하지 않을 경우 X-선 고전압발생장치를 사용하지 못하거나 불안정한 작동으로 인해 원활한 작동이 불가능해 진다. 전원환경에 따라 제품이 불안정 할 경우 환자 진료에 지장이 생길 수 있는 것을 감안하여 상용전원을 사용하지 않고 의료용 X-선 고전압발생장치를 작동 할 수 있는 전원장치를 배터리를 활용하도록 하였다. 전원회로를 설계한 후 시제품을 제작하여 본 논문에 제시된 방법에 따라 상용전원과 배터리 전원을 각각 비교하여 의료용 X-선 고전압발생장치가 입력전원방식에 따라 어떤 특성과 효율을 가지고 있는지 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 자동차가 노면을 주행 시 발생되는 진동에너지를 수집하여 차량의 배터리를 자가 충전할 수 있는 현가장치에 적용 가능한 공진형 선형 발전시스템을 설계하였다. 논문에서 제안된 선형 발전기는 기존의 발전기들과는 달리, 비교적 작은 에너지 원천인 노면의 진동에 더욱 효과적으로 대응하기 위해 공진 현상을 최대한 활용하는 설계를 지향했으며, 한정된 공간인 차량 현가장치에서의 선형 발전기의 발전 효과 검증 및 향후 연구 진행의 가능성을 판단하기 위해 수치해석적 방법을 활용하여 시스템의 동적 해석을 위한 기본 입력 속도를 도출하고 시스템의 목표인 발전 기능에 대한 예측을 위해 전자기 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 정상적인 발전 기능의 가능성을 확인한 공진형 선형 발전 시스템이 최근 자동차 산업의 큰 주축을 이루고 있는 하이브리드형 자동차 및 전기 자동차에 적용된다면, 각종 전장장치 및 배터리의 구동 및 성능유지에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

  • The steam gererator which produces thermal energy from coal or gas is a very important device in power plants, including the turbine driving synchronous generator which transforms kinetic energy into electrical energy. The turbine and the generator are driven by many kinds of media according to the types of which power plants are classified into steam turbine generator, gas turbine generator, water turbine generator and so on. This paper introduces the overspeed protection as well as the various speed and load control methods of some types of turbines.
