Today, it is imperative to educate students on how to best prepare themselves for the new data driven era of the future. Undergraduate education plays an important role in providing students with more Data Science opportunities and expanding the supply of Data Science talent. This paper surveys and analyzes the curricula of Data Science-related bachelor's degree programs in the United States. The 'required' and 'elective' courses in a curriculum for obtaining a B.S. degree were evaluated by course weight to indicate its necessity. As a result, it was possible to find out which courses were important in Data Science programs and which areas were emphasized for B.S. degrees in Data Science. We found that courses belong to the Data Science area, such as data management, data visualization, and data modeling, were more required for Data Science B.S. degrees in the United States.

Considering the rapid change of modern nursing knowledge, it is necessary to make changes in the curriculum of nursing education periodically according to the patient-nursing needs and the students' needs. This means that nursing education has to provide opportunities for the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Also, as the students of the RN-BSN program being all registered nurses, the education program for them is planned differently from the general undergraduate program. This study was conducted to establish the scope of educational contents of pediatric nursing in RN-BSN program. The contents of the pediatric nursing curriculum and its necessity was identified and reviewed. From June 5 to June 30 2000, data were collected from 309 RN-BSN students in 5 nursing schools. The questionnaire used for this study was developed by their researchers and the Korean Nursing Association and consisted of items according to the curriculum contents of pediatric nursing. The data were analyzed through frequency and percentages and was analyzed using SPSSWIN 10.0 programs. The results were as follows: 1.In the section surveying on the credits of pediatric theory and clinical practice, 3 out of 5 schools had 2 credits in theory (60.0%), and 2 credits for clinical practice in 2 schools, and 2 credits were given to the elective practice in 2 other schools. 2. In analyzing the degree of demand for lecture and clinical practice, 52.1% of students preferred lectures to be given by professors and 53.7% preferred their level of undergraduate knowledge updated and finally most of the students (81.9%) didn't want to do the clinical practice. 3.The students weighted the importance of current curriculum contents as follows : sex education of adolescence(60.8%), high-risk infant(59.5%), sex education of school age children(59.2%), the handicapped children (55.7%), health assessment(52.4%), children with pneumonia(51.5%), children with asthma (47.1%), children with burns(41.1%). In conclusion, there is a need for research to measure the degree of education satisfaction and needs in RN-BSN students and to improve the curriculum contents in pediatric nursing.
Due to a lack of teachers and available classrooms, high school students are not able to take the elective courses of their choice. In order to solve this problem with online instruction, I have used the following methods: First, I conducted a literature study to examine the concepts and models of online instruction. Second, I compared the number of students who took the CSAT subject tests with the number of students who enrolled in optional courses through KEDI's Education Statistics Services. Using the data gathered from this comparison, I could predict the demand for each optional course. Finally, I proposed amending the Elementary and Secondary Education Act; the Enforcement Decree of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act; the General Statement Curriculum of High Schools; and the Guidelines for Recording School through the expert interviews for on-line instruction in order to establish online instruction for high school students.
As media become diversified, animation fields are being expanded. Various types of animations which were not seen in the past have appeared and the fields which did not have a suffix of "animation" now use the words of animation like motion graphic-animation or interactive-animation. This thesis is a comparative analysis study of U.S. animation education. This study collected and reviewed respective curricula of total 5 universities such as Academy of Art University, California Art of Institute), Ringling College of Art and Design, Rhode Island School of Design, and School of Visual Arts which have led U.S. animation education since animation education was first introduced in 1961. Based on the result drawn from the analysis on the classification of animation curricula into a required subject, an elective subject, liberal arts, a theory subject and a practical subject, it intends to consider improvements of Korean animation curriculum.

The interest in artificial intelligence is due to an increase in influence on companies, organizations, daily lives and society. The purpose of this study is to analyze the key elements in the teaching subjects of artificial intelligence-related subjects of Korean universities based on the intelligent system area of Computer Science 2013 in terms of human resources development. According to the analysis, there are five out of nine universities that run the required courses. Based on the 12 detailed knowledge domains of intelligent systems, the compulsory subjects of universities are distributed in the field of basic search theory, basic knowledge expression and reasoning, and inference based on uncertainty. The elective courses of each university covered topics in five to eight areas of the total knowledge area of the intelligent system, with 69.9 percent of universities with the highest average ratio of areas involving the subject of teaching subjects and 46.3 percent of universities with the lowest. This study has implications for the fact that prior to entering an artificial intelligence graduate school, we were able to grasp the level of knowledge about artificial intelligence at the undergraduate level.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the curriculum implementation of 「Food Safety and Health」, a Home Economics elective course, for high school students. Accordingly, several units of the 「Food Safety and Health」curriculum were piloted in six high schools in Chungbuk, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, and Sejong, and 1,199 questionnaires collected from students who participated in the classes were analyzed. The results are as follows. The 「Food Safety and Health」class had a significant effect on improving the total score of 'food safety and health' knowledge of high school students and scores for sub-dimensional area. Compared to the pre-test, the overall rate of correct answers for the post-test has increased by 7.99%p, and schools that implemented the relevant unit class relatively more had higher improvement scores. In addition, the 「Food Safety and Health」class has positively changed the eating behavior of high school students, and had a significant effect on having a habit of eating a variety of foods evenly. High school students who participated in the 「Food Safety and Health」class evaluated their classes very positively (4.27 out of 5 points), and responded that the content of the class was interesting, easy to understand, and helpful for their diet in daily life. According to the responses to the open-ended questions, students responded that the class was helpful in acquiring food-related knowledge in their real lives, while there were so many limitations for experiencing lab class and group activities due to COVID 19. In preparation for the high school credit system, this study is meaningful that it has expanded the elective courses in home economics area, as well as the right to choose subjects for high school students.
The purpose of this study was to investigate pre-service physics teachers' perceptions on the physics education major curriculum. We surveyed 15 junior, and 13 senior college students of physics education major in an university in southern part of Korea. Among them, 24 participants(86 %) took the physics 1 course in high school and 22 participants(79 %) chose the physics 1 in their Korea Scholastic Aptitude Test. The responses showed that the most necessary part in pre-service students' learning was the understanding of high school level physics(36 %), and the understanding of introductory level physics(29 %). In the wish list of courses to be open, high school level physics course was ranked first among seven options by 61 % of respondents. Also, there was some concurrence among respondents in opinion of the necessity for understanding introductory physics. Students felt difficulties in understanding it especially owing to the lack of problem solving skill and comprehension. They added that the sufficient explanation of core concepts should be the first action in the innovative plan. Most participants of pre-service physics teachers hoped to have the revised major curriculum which could help their understanding of high school level or introductory level of physics. However, there was a gap of opinions between the group of students with completion of the high school physics 1 & 2 course and those with non-completion of them. The approach of changing major curriculum with consideration of learners' needs was recommended because the number of students with completion of the high school physics course would probably be decreasing rapidly under these circumstances such as the application of new national curriculum, the reduction of the number of the elective courses in Korea Scholastic Aptitude Test and so on.
The goal of this study is to examine the Integrated Science and Science Laboratory Experiments of the 2015 revised curriculum applied since 2018, and to explore ways to improve these two subjects in preparation for the 2022 revised curriculum. A survey was conducted by randomly sampling high schools across the country, with a total of 192 science teachers participating. In addition, 12 high school science teachers were selected as focus group, and in-depth interviews were conducted to investigate ways to restructure common science courses for the next curriculum. Main research results include that most schools were operated in 6~8 units for Integrated Science, and the teachers in charge of Integrated Science per class averaged 2~3 over the three years. For Science Laboratory Experiments, it has operated for a total of two semesters, one unit per semester, and it was found that several science teachers are in charge of Science Laboratory Experiments to fill the insufficient number of hours regardless of major. In the in-depth interview, science teachers argued that Integrated Science should be reduced and restructured by strengthening key competencies in preparation for the high school credit system. Based on the research results, ways to reorganize Integrated Science focused on big ideas, ways to construct common science courses based on fundamental science concepts that can guide elective courses, the necessity of career guidance through common science courses, and the necessity of strengthening teacher professionalism for teaching interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary subjects were suggested.
With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the liberal arts education of universities has been called for fundamental innovation in its content and methods. H university has continuously made efforts to improve its general education curriculum with the goal of satisfying students' needs as well as the demands of the times. Its efforts can be summarized as the harmonization of competency-based education and the traditional liberal arts education. In more detail, it has tried to meet the demands of Ministry of Education which requests each university to establish its general education system focusing on key competencies. Simultaneously, it also radically changed its education system based on the guidelines of the Korea National Institute for General Education(KONIGE). The starting point of those changes was the basic consulting by KONIGE in 2017. According to the consulting report, H university introduced comprehensive and overall revision of its liberal arts education curriculum, increasing its liberal arts credit requirements from 22 to 28 credits in 2019. It has also reorganized and reclassified its liberal arts courses by introducing distributive elective classes. In 2020, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, H university altered its curriculum once more in order to establish a competency-based general education curriculum. Under the new curriculum, all requirement subjects are completely matched with key competencies of H university. It also includes newly opened courses and subject areas such as "Social Service" and "Global Citizenship." Through these changes, H university hopes that its general education contributes to fostering students equipped with key competencies, who can face actively this challenging period.

The results of this study were summarized as follows : 1. In the field of general subjects, the compulsory courses are composed of 10 courses(14.3%) in 9 subjects and show only one course in one subject in Korea, while those in Japan are composed of 11-12 courses(18.3-20.0%) in 8 subjects and present each level course of primary and deepening in course. 2. In the field of general subjects, the elective courses are composed of 60 courses(85.7%) in 12 subjects in Korea, while those in Japan are composed of 48-49 courses in 8 subjects. 3. In the field of specialized subjects, the compulsory courses for streams have 3 courses(10.7%) in Korea, while those in Japan have 4 courses (16.7%) 4. In the field of specialized subjects, the compulsory courses for departments are composed of 2-4 courses in Korea, while specialized courses for departments are composed of 4 courses in Japan. 5. In the field of general subjects, unit allotment of the compulsory courses requires the completion of 70 units (37.2%) out of total 188 units(excluding extracurricular activites) in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of 70-90 units(38.9-50.0%) out of total 180 units (excluding extracurricular activites). 6. In the field of general subjects, unit allotment of the elective courses requires the completion of 12-36 units(6.4-19.2%) out of total 188 units in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of30-50 units(16.7-27.8%) out of total 180 units. 7. In the field of specialized subjects, unit allotment of the major courses requires the completion of more thar 82 units in Korea, while that in Japan requires the completion of more than 60 units, so that the units of the complusory courses for stresms of both of the countries tend to show many differences and diversity in both zone and school. Based on these results, the research concluded that the Fisheries High Schools in the two countries make up nearly similar curricula, while in Japan general subjects carry more extensive choice of courses and higher unit allotment is provided for general subjects than in Korea. It was also concluded that the curriculum for vocational education in Japan intends to develop spontaneous, creative, and soft personalities for job. This study suggests that Fisheries High School curriculum in Korea needs to be improved to give students more opportunities for course selection and to help students adapt themselves to various kinds of job groups.
