  • Korean brahman bells toll magnificent sound that would be a great vehicle which brings all beings to the sutras without lecturing mat and can lead them to the Land of Purity -Nirvana. The rating processes and their results of sound quality of the most beautiful Korean Brahman Bells of Sangwonsa, Bongduksa and Boshinkak have been presented in detail. This evaluation scheme is also a very effective measure in determining the beauty of sound not only of bells but also of any music.

  • The task, development of the exemplary patterns for the application of passive solar systems in residential buildings, is very crucial regarding government policies toward energy conservation. So various measurements, evaluation, and feasibility studies are performed in addition to their architectural design and detailed drawings. In conclusion, passive solar systems are effective and economical when they are applied to residential buildings for heating systems.

  • The real strength evvelope for soils without cemetation goes through the origin and is curved. The Mohr -Coulomb failure criterion with the strength parameters c' and ø' from conventional tests overestimates the shear strength available at low normal stresses. The results of laboratory tests interpreted in terms of the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion are not appropriate for evaluation of surficial slope stability , because the range of effective normal stresses in the field are not used in the laboratory tests.

  • In this study, the qualitative prediction and evaluation of clean room being utilized for mass production of electrronic components have been performed with the help of flow simulation. Compared to the experimental analysis based on measurements of the number of particles, concentration of contaminants and flow characteristics, the numerical analysis used in this study is much cost-effective.

  • Train crashes involve complex interaction between deformable bodies in multiple collisions. The purpose of this study is to suggest the effective analytical procedure using finite element model for the crashworthiness of motorized trailer of high speed train. Various types of crash events are investigated and the conditions for numerical simulation are defined. Finally korean high speed train which consists of aluminum members can be analyzed and designed by the numerical simulation.

  • Due to contaminated environment many concrete structures are carbonated. It causes the corrosion of rebar and induces the cracks of concrete, eventually. This study investigates the mechanism and properties of the alkali recovery agents(ARA) which are currently applied for repairing concrete structures on sites. The results indicate that the ARAs are not sufficiently effective to the realkalization of concrete structures.

  • A real time simulation is an effective tool for use in design, performance evaluation, and testing of the vehicle dynamic system. An alternate approach is to use a computer system designed specifically to provide an integrated simulation environment in which all aspects of hardware-in-the-loop simulation task have been taken into account.
