The number of environment-related technologies has increased remarkably over the past two decades, as has the public's interest in effective resource use and ways to reduce the effects of global warming. Industries that are based on environment-related technologies are thus growing rapidly. Previous studies revealed that externalities derived from the population concentration in urban areas positively affect agglomerations of high-tech industries. Such externalities have been named the "knowledge spillover effect". The purposes of the present paper are to (1) give a thumbnail sketch of the locations of environment-related industries around the world, using the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development environment-related patent statistics, and (2) explicate the effects of the Marshall-Arrow-Romer (MAR) and Jacobs externalities, which result from population concentrations in urban areas, on the agglomeration of environment-related industries in Sweden. The analysis revealed that environment-related industries are located chiefly in urban areas across the globe, and that only the MAR externalities influenced positively on the agglomeration of these industries in Sweden.

The purpose of this study was to develop the computer assisted instruction program in multimedia environment, to examine the relative effects of two types of multimedia learning on science achievement and attitude towards science learning and to investigate the effects of treatment and students' learning ability. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1. On science achievement; The multimedia learnings were more effective than the traditional one. Difference between multimedia learning I (through individualistic learning) and multimedia learning II(through peer interaction) was not significant. There was not interaction effect of treatment and students' learning ability. 2. On attitude towards science learning; The multimedia learnings were more effective than the traditional one. The multimedia learning I (through individualistic learning) was more effective than the multimedia learning II (through peer interaction). There was no interaction of treatment and students' learning ability. 3. On students' perceptions on multimedia learning; The students in the multimedia classes showed the multimedia learning were good in causing interest. making students absorbed in studies, and giving many learning materials, but not good in a couple of points such as making students bored and not explaining in detail.

Modern concepts of management of construction production systems require solving the problems of harmonization of the distribution of structural elements on the way to overcoming global destabilization processes. An effective ratio of functional subsystems of production in an environment of mutual influence create sustainable opportunities for production management and contribute to the logical development of the system as a whole in achieving the main goal of harmonious management. The purpose of the study is to develop the concept of effective management of production systems in construction with the harmonious formation of organizational structures. The results of the study allowed to reveal the harmonization approach in improving the interaction of structural elements of production and accelerating their functional sensitivity to changes in the environment. Harmonious production system more effectively adapts to the diversity of interests, goals and actions at all levels of management of different subsystems in any environment.

The quality of marine sediments from the industrialized coastal areas of Korea (Ulsan Bay, Masan Bay, and artificial Lake Shihwa) was investigated using a bacterial bioluminescence toxicity test. Sediment toxicity results were compared with the levels of chemical contamination (trace metals, organic wastewater markers, acid volatile sulfides, total organic carbon). Effective concentration 50% (EC50) of sediments ranged from 0.014 to 1.126 mg/mL, which is comparable to or lower than values in contaminated lakes, rivers, and marine sediments of other countries. Sediment reference index (SRI) ranged from 13 to 1044, based on the EC50 of the negative control sample. Mean average SRI values in Masan Bay and Lake Shihwa were approximately 8 and 9 times as high as that in Ulsan Bay, indicating higher sediment toxicity and greater contamination in the two former regions. Sediment toxicity were strongly associated with the concentrations of some chemicals, suggesting that this test may be useful for determining potential chemical contamination in sediments.

The amount of Sea Casualty is increased by heavy sea traffic, increasing sea-borne cargoes, and superannuated vessels. This study analyzed the circumstance of ship salvage in Korean Salvage Units and management of Salvage Divers in Korea and other countries in order to make establishment of Ship Salvage Divers. This paper reputed the object, the necessity and the character of Ship Salvage Divers. For the purpose of study two parts are considered in order to analyze the environment of salvage divers(the circumstance of Sea Casulties and Ship Salvage). Under the present circumstance in Korea this development planning study may be restricted, but the effective planning to activate Korean Ship Salvage Diver is abstracted as follows; First, the political assistance of concerned government authority is needed. Second, establishment of new course, grade, certificate and licence for Salvage Diver is a Pre-requisite factor for the successful enactment. Third, establishment of Korean Ship Salvage Diving Center or School is strongly required.

The objective of this study is to develop the building integrated PV application method for apartment building.

In this article, I'd like to suggest the u-Campus which is very suitable to the user's environment which had used application of mobile. In u-Campus, various techniques are adopted and applied along with development of info-communication related technidques. Especially, the new type of campus which is constructed by adopting the ubiquitous computing net-work technique to the campus of university is the u-Campus. In this article, by suggesting u-Yuhan designing methods, more effective and advanced school activities of students to make possible.

This study aims at choosing indicators to measure the effect of utilizing biotop map, and analyzing its effect by an indicator from the perspective of performer. The Primary performance indicators are made through specialist survey using SMART. As a result, three indicators are chosen: "Discussion of the period of an environmental effects evaluation(reduced effect)", "Plan and execution of environment and ecology plan in an urban development site", "Minimizing ecological damage in an urban development." The result in each indicator is as follows. The indicator of discussion of the period of an environmental effects evaluation(reduced effect), the average reduction rate in statistically meaningful level reduced 6.08% and 11.64% respectively in 2004-2005. In this period, environment information system was established and the reduction effect is shown in this period by reinforcing environment effect estimation using biotop map. As to the indicator of utilizing biotop map in an urban development site, the Seongnam P site case shows that biotop map was used when they set up an development plan. In case of minimizing ecological damage in an urban development, the Gwangjingu G-dong case shows that it was used to appoint preservation sit, and mediate development restrict area. Accordingly, the biotop map utilizing effect is confirmed through core performance indicators and verification of the indicators using SMART. The further research is encouraged to find evaluate indicators and verify the effect quantitatively to increase the use of biotop map.

With the wide spread use of multimedia device, the demand for the image processing engineers are increasing in various fields. However there are few engineers who can develop practical applications in the image processing area. To teach practical image processing techniques, we need a visual programming environment which can efficiently present the image processing theories and, at the same time, provide interactive experiments for the theory presented. In this paper, we propose a visual programming environment of the integrated environment for image processing. It consists of the theory presentation systems and experiment systems based on the visual programming environment. The theory presentation systems support multimedia data, web documents and powerpoint files. The proposed system provides an integrated environment for application development as well as education. The proposed system accumulates the teaching materials and exercise data and it manages, an ideal image processing education and research environment to students and instructors.
