  • The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development is propelling the establishment project of IBSLIS, Internet-based School library Information System for prepares a foundation of resource sharing and inter-school library loan, to improvement of DB construction's efficiency and to reduces a maintenance's burden of local information system. There is a necessity which it will evaluate demonstrative operating IBSLIS system for maximize to educational effect and to establish efficiently. Thus. this study is prepares to improvement devices of school library informationization as evaluation an operational status and functions of IBSLIS system which are established in 2001 year.

  • Aims of subject specialist librarian's education is an improvement of their professionalism which could reinforce librarians' ability to achieve their speciality. The curriculum should be competency based one which could gain knowledge and skills to accomplish subject librarian services. The study aims to suggest competency based curriculum that is needed for specialist librarian's work. The study proposes six educational courses and fifteen subjects. Six courses are as followings: resource development, information services, library marketing, user education, subject research, and library administration.

The Effects of Emotional Labor and Job Involvement on Turnover Intention of Nurses in Long-term Care Hospitals (요양병원 간호사의 감정노동과 직무몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influencing factors on turnover intention of nurses in long-term care hospitals. Methods: Data were collected from 210 nurses in 11 long-term care hospitals in B city. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Stepwise multiple regression. Results: Turnover intention was significantly correlated with emotional labor(r=.35, p<.001) and job involvement (r=-.38, p<.001). In a multiple regression, emotional labor (${\beta}=.31$, p<.001), age (${\beta}=-.27$, p<.001), job satisfaction (${\beta}=.24$, p<.001), job involvement (${\beta}=-.23$, p<.001), and number of patients assigned(${\beta}=.14$, p=.009) were associated with turnover intention. These factors attributed to 41.2% of the total variance in turnover intention. Conclusion: Considering the results of this study, proactive educational and/or human resource management interventions need to be developed especially for those younger nurses in order to reduce emotional labor as well as to promote job satisfaction and job involvement of nurses in long-term care hospitals.

Psychosocial Risks: Is Risk Management Strategic Enough in Business and Policy Making?

  • Background: In times of continuous change and volatile markets, organizations are increasingly characterized by downsizing, work intensification, and resource rationalization. This has resulted in diversification, and the emergence of newrisks within the field of occupational health and safety, with an important impact. This paper focuses on one such type of risk in the modern workplace-psychosocial risks. The current study aimed to explore stakeholder perspectives, regarding the extent to which psychosocial risks are incorporated into strategic risk management practices, at both the business and policy level. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 14 professionals, representing employer, expert, policy maker, and trade union stakeholder perspectives. Results: It was found that the majority of organizations do not sufficiently, if at all, understand and incorporate psychosocial risks into strategic decision making, whereby the key barrier related to practical difficulties of not knowing how to manage psychosocial risks adequately. Conclusion: The study found that there is a need to close the gap between policy and practice on a number of levels. Future recommendations comprise a policy framework and infrastructure underpinned by educational initiatives, partnerships, and networks to drive a shift in attitudes toward recognizing the duality of the concept of risk (including both potential negative and positive outcomes) and moving beyond simple regulatory compliance.

Perspective of Energy Education: Comparison between the Management Group and the Teaching Group (에너지교육에 대한 학교 조직 내 관리집단과 교수집단의 인식 수준 차이)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare the management group' and the teaching group' perception of energy education in Korea. For this purpose, this study carried out a questionnaire survey at schools participating in the energy saving policy. The data was collected from six managers and 171 teachers in middle schools. First, the results indicated that both the management group and teachers have a considerable interest in teaching energy saving practice. How ever the management group showed more preference toward teacher-leading courses, such as lecture, compared to the teachers Second, both the management group and teachers tended to take extracurricular activities. Third, the manager group mostly got energy educational resource from the teacher training program, textbook and teacher's companion. However the teachers mostly did from the mass media. Fourth, compared to the teachers, the managers preferred to allot more budgets to school facilities than to activities related to educating students related to energy. Fifth, the management group pointed out curriculum-making and more budget as the necessity to enhance energy education but the teaching groups did students' interest. Sixth, both the management group and teachers emphasis on the need of energy education.

  • The objective of this study is to explore the situations and extension roles for rural elderly welfare program in North Dakota, USA. With a growing older population, aging has become an important issue for extension. Services for rural elderly available in North Dakota were adult day care, home health care, senior insurance counseling, nutrition and medication assistance programs, support groups, legal assistance, meals on wheels, nursing homes and more. With a growing older population, aging has become an important issue for extension. Extension provides programs and services for rural elderly. This study was conducted by literature review. First, many rural elderly Americans are actively engaged in volunteer work and have made substantial contributions to their communities. Second, extension educators from interdisciplinary areas should work together to develop programs. Extension programs can include intergenerational programs to help younger generations learn about the issue. Third, extension can collaborate with other agencies and groups to offer support groups. Offering educational programs is a key to empowering older people. Fourth, elderly residents may be the only increasing natural resource for volunteering in general, and for participation in community improvement in particular. Fifth, extension educators should be proactive in working with agencies to provide social access and in helping older people be actively engaged in their lives, especially in rural areas.

Development of a Web-based Education Program for Nurses working in Nursing Homes on Human Rights of Older Adults (노인요양시설 간호사 대상 웹기반 노인인권 교육프로그램 개발)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop a web-based education program for nurses working in nursing homes. The focus was on the rights of older adults. Methods: The program was designed based on the Network-Based Instructional System Design (NBISD) model and was operated and evaluated between July 2007 and June 2008. Results: Out of nursing records of 40 residents from a nursing home, the final 7 cases were deducted through classification using the Resource Utilization Group (RUG)-III. The data on needs for education was collected from 28 nurses working in 15 nursing homes located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, who agreed to complete a self-report questionnaire. A comprehensive review of the literature and two focus groups interviews were used to search for risk factors and guidelines for protection of human rights. The education program was developed based on Kolb's experiential learning model and composed of 5 units, which included content on types of human rights and rights to death with dignity, elder abuse, physical liberty, and self-determination. The program was positively evaluated showing a score of 3.35 (SD=0.37) out of 4. Conclusion: The educational program developed in this study should promote nurses' sensitivity to the rights of elders and improve nurses' behaviors in protecting the rights of elders residing in nursing homes.

A study on the problematic direction of health promotion in Korea - focusing on the importance of health education (한국 건강증진 사업 방향의 문제점에 관한 연구 -보건교육의 중요성을 중심으로-)

  • The fundamental hypothesis of health promotion is that the modification of behavior to better fit practices associated with health will in fact increase health and longevity. Therefore, it is in general said that the most important thing to health promotion is the practice of health education which can result in the change of human behaviors. The National Health Promotion Fund is the financial resource of health promotion programs in Korea. The budget for health education of the fund accounted for 0.58 billion won out of the health promotion budget, 29.5 billion won in 1998. It has been the smallest out of 4 categories of health promotion programs from 1998 to 2000. What is worse, only 0.26 billion won was spent on health education in fact. It was less than a half of the budget for health education. In addition to it, the budget for the development of health education material was 0.17 billion won in 1998. But it was not spent on the project at all. And the project of educational material development got no budget in 1999. The Korean health promotion needs to enlarge the portion of community health education services drastically in order to attain the proper behavioral change of the people in the future.

Nursing Students' Perception, Experience and Attitude on Complementary and Alternative Therapies (보완대체요법에 대한 간호대학생의 인식, 경험 및 태도 조사)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to provide a basic resource for developing nursing interventions and educational programs for complementary and alternative therapies (CAT) by examining nursing students' perception, experience, and attitudes toward CAT. Methods: Data were collected targeting 230 nursing students from October 20 to November 10, 2014, and analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test, and ANOVA with SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Results showed that CAT were performed by CAT specialists in combination with hospital treatments for individuals suffering from chronic pain and musculoskeletal diseases. Nursing students obtained information on and experience of CAT through the Internet. CAT were used for psychological and mental stability as a supplementary treatment. The majority of the participants used Yoga followed by massage as a sub-therapy of the program. They said that openness of medical staff and active communication are important for having a positive attitudes toward CAT. There are differences in attitudes toward CAT according to gender, student levels, and previous experience on CAT. Conclusion: It is crucial for nursing students to have right perception, experience, and attitudes toward CAT in order to apply CAT to the clinical field.

Study on Capstone Design Program in Fashion Major

  • In today's world, the design industry is becoming more complex, with the development of networks such as the internet and revolutionary changes in information and telecommunications. As the demand for designers to cope with various situations occurring in these industrial sites or solve problems in practice promptly is required, a capstone design program was developed in collaboration with the industry. Capstone design classes have positive effects on creative problem solving ability, academic achievement and learning satisfaction by allowing students to think and experience the practical problems of the industrial field. It is also effective in improving communication, creative thinking and critical thinking. The purpose of this study is to search for talent training methods needed in the fashion industry and to develop effective programs through capstone design class studies conducted in the fourth grade of fashion design majors from 2017 to 2019 (6 semesters). Through these studies, the aim is to search for talent training methods needed in the fashion industry and to develop effective programs. If the capstone design learning method is used as a method of solving problems through close communication between the company and the educational field as an industry-academia cooperation system, it is expected to be positioned as a field-type human resource education method that is required in the industrial field.
