  • The purpose of this study is to construct an evaluation and improvement program of the spousal role in middle-aged rural couples. Based on the results of the previous survey conducted for the development of a program in 2001 and a review of previous research, this program consisted of four sessions, such as the history of my marriage-change and continuance, equal spouse role-individuation and integration, healthy role performance and communication, and the improvement of relations and the giving tree. Also the improvement indicators can be used as an educational tool for the educational program of the four sessions that were developed. The educational program was accomplished by giving lectures and activities for one hour per session. The effectiveness of the educational program on every role area except the economical role area was proved to be significant.

  • Radiopharmaceuticals are important for tumor diagnosis and therapy. To deliver a radiotracer at the desired target excluding non-targeted tissues is difficult The development of a targeted tracer that has a good clearance profile while maintaining high biostability and biocompatibility is key to optimizing its biodistribution and transport across biological barriers. Improving the hydrophilicity of radiotracers by PEGylation can reduce serum binding, allowing the tracer to circulate without retention and reducing its affinity for non-targeted tissues. In this study, we synthesized a new benzamido tracer (SnBz-PEG36) with the introduction of a low molecular weight polyethylene glycol unit (PEG36, ~2,100 Da). The tumor targeting efficiency and biodistribution of [131I]-Bz-PEG36 or radiotracer-loaded liposomes were evaluated after their administration to normal mice or mouse tumor models including CT26 (xenograft) and 4T1 (xenograft and orthotopic). Most of the radiotracer was cleared out rapidly (1-24 h post-administration) through the kidney and there was little tumor uptake.

The data were gathered from 177 rural change agents in 11 agricultural technology centers in Kyongi-Do province by mailing survey with questionnaire. The major findings of the study were ; (1) Agricultural environment education for rural extention workers initiated in 1996. From 1999 diversified programs were served for them. (2) Rural change agents perceived that water contamination and degradation of life environment were the most serious problem. (3) Educational program on organic farming should be prepared for farmers and rural changes agents. (4) Concrete educational programs for adequate use of agricultural chemicals should be prepared for farmers. (5) Educational program on agricultural environment policies should be reorganized in terms of the level of target group. (6) RDA should prepare synthetical education program for the conservation of rural eco-system.

  • The purpose of the study was to determine whether a delirium educational program has a positive outcome on nurses' documentation in patient records of delirium care. A one group pre-post design was used. A convenient sample of 60 consecutive records that included documentation by participating nurses in four medical wards of one regional general hospital in South Korea was audited two months before and two months after a delirium educational program. Although an educational program in this study positively changed nurses' knowledge and attitudes, these positive effects did not translate to improvement in the documentations of delirium care. There was no significant increase in the frequency of nursing documentation of delirium assessment following participation in the educational program. Furthermore, there was no significant increase in the frequency of nursing documentation of the use of non-pharmacological management following the documentation of keywords associated with delirium after participation in the educational program. The findings indicate the need to develop, implement and record a systematic risk assessment for delirium and assessment and management of existing delirium based on evidence-based guidelines in clinical practice in South Korea.

  • The study was the second part of the research on development of consumer education program as social education program. The purpose of this study was to analyze needs fur program contents. Program contents had two parts: educational program contents and program managements. The data used contained 617 married women living in Seoul, Korea. Using SAS-PC program, Chi-square and Anova Analyses were executed. The results showed that married women had higher educational needs on housing purchase, tax avoidance, cancellation of contracts after purchase, consumer redress, etc. The differences in age, education, householder's occupation, and household income level resulted in the differences in educational needs for some specific educational items. They were likely to be educated at the highly accessible place such as women's center, community center, University extension service center, and consumer organization, etc. Also they preferred to be educated once a week fur a short time period like one to three months, and to have the lectures with discussion in the class. • Purpose: The purposes of this study is to develop an educational program to prevent sexual abuse of children and to improve the physical and mental health of children by providing a rape-free environment and safety education. This program will provide parents and children with information on how to prevent sexual abuse in children. Children learn specific methods to avoid being victimized both at home and outside the home through a learning game and simulation, which is based on problem solving. Method: This program was developed based on a literature reviews, surveys and negotiation process. School- aged-children, parents, and teachers were interviewed to reveal their educational needs based on their experiences related to sexual abuse. Result: This program includes useful subjects such as safety education, early detection of sexual abuse, crisis management, resource persons, and phone numbers of available hospital. Counseling is provided by researcher or by a pediatric psychiatrist if needed. Conclusion: This program could be adequately utilized for prevention of sexual abuse of children. It also will provide an intervention strategy for abused children. This educational program was distributed to all of the elementary school through the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess whether the osteoporosis preventive educational program has changed the middle-aged women's knowledge on osteoporosis. A one group pretest-posttest design was used. A total of 27 women (at pretest) and 27 women (at posttest) who were volunteers participated. The intervention program content included lecture and exercise entitled The Prevention of Osteoporosis. This program design consisted of one 3-hour session per week and lasted over 4-week period. Osteoporosis Knowledge Questionnaire (OKQ) was used. The OKQ contains 20 true-false items to measure the knowledge levels about osteoporosis. The Kuder-Richardson test (KR 20), used as an estimate of internal consistency for knowledge, was .7783. Overwhelming majority of the participants (96.2%) were ranging in age from 40 to 60. About half of the participants were college graduates and the majority of them (77.8%) had no jobs. The educational program significantly increased osteoporosis knowledge in middle-aged women. Results of this study shows that educational program is effective in increasing knowledge of osteoporosis. Further study using the same program with different age group is needed to measure knowledge, behavior and attitude on osteoporosis.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the unplugged educational program for the lower grades of elementary school. For this, the study was conducted as follows. First, a play-learning-based unplugged education method was discovered, focusing on play activities according to the level of development of elementary school students. Secondly, unplugged educational programs to develop Computational Thinking were designed according to the discovered topics. each class is conducted by storytelling, and the content of the storytelling is related to the integrated curriculum 'Winter'. In addition, each class was analyzed based on the core elements of Computational Thinking ability. And, we developed educational materials that can be used in the designed unplugged educational program. Finally, the educational program was applied to the lower grades of elementary school, and the educational program was analyzed through case studies. As a result of the analysis, the educational program was organized according to the level of the students, and it was confirmed that this educational program is helpful in improving the Computational Thinking of lower grade students of elementary school.
