  • During the past two years, the education systems in the world witnessed unprecedented turmoil due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, as most schools and universities in the world closed their doors to more than 1.5 billion students, or more than 90% of the total learners, according to recent figures issued by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics. Education experts have agreed that post- coronavirus education will not be the same as before, especially with the increasing use of modern technology in education. One of the most important new patterns with a structure digital in education is distance education, this style has been used, in many countries of the world, as an alternative to traditional education, since the beginning of the pandemic. In Saudi Arabia, this type of education has been used in all educational institutions, starting from kindergarten until the postgraduate level, as an alternative to face-to-face education to preserve the health and safety of students and workers in educational institutions. This study aimed to explore the level of satisfaction of preparatory year students on distance learning in their first year of study at Umm Al-Qura University. The findings of this study showed that students in the preparatory year were satisfied with their online learning experience. In addition, the results revealed that there was no effect for gender and location of study on students' level of satisfaction. Saudi universities should continue to work to create a suitable learning environment for students at the e-learning level.

  • In this article we drew out five definition-methods in school geometry. They are called synonymous method, denotative method, analytic method. And we analyzed them theoretically. On our analysis we tried to identify the level of common sense and the level of science in definition of those two levels on the definition-methods of circle. While the definition-method in elementary school could be regarded as the level of common sense, that in middle school could be considered as the level of science. Finally, we made the following didactical comments. Definitions in school mathematics might have the levels as regard to their roles. Thus, Mathematics teachers, curriculum developers, and text authors all need to recognize the subtle differences in the level of definition-methods.

Demographic data such as educational level of parents, mother's employment, family type, level of living, and students' growing place and their sex. The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Ducan Multiple Range Test. Students' stressors showed partial sex differences in each sub-category. Females feel more stress greater physical and mental health, sibiling relationship, whereas males feel more stress greater girl and boy friends. Students' stressors showed partially significant differences in only home environment and family stressors according to demographic variables. That is, home environment stressors differed in educational level of parents, mother's employment, family type, level of living, and students' growing place except mother's employment. • In this study we desire to deduce implications for mathematics curriculum, teaching- learning, and evaluation from the data of Nation Assessment of Educational Achievement. For this, first we extracted the items written by the same achievement standard over two years from 2010 to 2012. Next we investigated whether the items are the representative items of a certain proficiency level and classified into the case of the items of the same proficiency level and the case of the items of different proficiency levels. Based on these we analysed learning characteristic of the each proficiency level. From the results of the above, we proposed what should be changed in mathematics curriculum, what should be considered in teaching-learning, and what should be paid attention to test item development.

Using the latest achievements in the field of information technologies for the organization of the educational process helps to form the operational style of education applicants' thinking, which provides the ability to acquire skills of processing information, that is presented in the text, graphic, tabular form, and increase the level of general and informational culture necessary for better orientation in the modern information space. The purpose of the research is to determine the effectiveness of information technologies as an incentive to develop creative potential of educational process on the basis of the survey, to establish advantages and ability to provide high-quality education in the context of using information technologies. Methods of research: comparative analysis; systematization; generalization, survey. Results. Based on the survey conducted among students and teachers, it has been found out that the teachers use the following information technologies for the development of creative potential of the educational process: to provide video and audio communication process (100%), Moodle (95,6%), Duolingo (89,7%), LinguaLeo (89%), Google Forms (88%) and Adobe Captivate Prime (80,6%). It is determined that modular digital learning environments (97,9%), interactive exercises tools (96,3%), ICT for video and audio communication (96%) and interactive exercises tools (95,1%) are most conducive to the development of creative potential of the educational process. As a result of the research, it was revealed that implementation of information technologies for the development of creative potential of educational process in educational institutions is a complex process due to a large number of variables, which should be taken into account both on the educational course and on the individual level. It has been determined that the using the model of implementation information technologies for the development of creative potential in educational process, which is stimulated due to this model, benefits both students and teachers by establishing a reliable bilateral connection between teacher and education applicant.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the mother's educational aspirations and household's characteristics have an effect on the likelihood of private educational expenditures and the amount of private educational expenditures. Factor analysis, probit and tobit analyses were used. The main findings can be summarized as the following: The mother's educational aspirations for intrinsic values is higher than for extrinsic values. The mother's educational aspirations for extrinsic values, household's assets, and residing in Seoul rather than residing in Incheon had significant positive effects on the likelihood of private educational expenditures. However, the child's birth order had a significant negative effect on the likelihood of private educational expenditures. The mother's educational aspirations for extrinsic values, the mother's education level, household's income, household's assets, and residing in Seoul rather than residing in Incheon had significant positive effects on the amount of private educational expenditures. However, the child's birth order had a significant negative effect on the amount of private educational expenditures. Findings from this study offer several implications. First, the mother's educational aspirations for extrinsic values rather than for intrinsic values has an effect on private educational expenditures. Unless the mother's educational aspirations have been changed to pursuing intrinsic values, the private educational expenditures cannot be reduced. Second, the polarization of the household's income and assets could bring about the polarization of private educational expenditures, which can lead to the intergenerational income polarization.
