  • This paper attempts to provide a new theoretical approach and an empirical analysis based on it to interrogate the structure of household income inequality and its changes in South Korea in the 2010s. Previous research on inequality in sociology, labor economics and feminism has focused on local inequalities which derive from specific spaces of society. For a comprehensive understanding of social inequality in totality, it requires a discussion of global inequality beyond local inequalities. Thus, a synthetic approach that integrates local inequalities, encompassing class, the labor market, population, and family. By using regression-based inequality decomposition, we decompose the contribution of gender, level of education, employment status, occupation, household composition and wealth to household income inequality. This paper shows that household and wealth, as well as the factors discussed in the previous research, are significant factors affecting household income inequality in South Korea.

  • Objective: The objective of this paper is to analyze the impact of foreign aid on income inequality in Nepal with disaggregation of foreign aid into four major sectors: social sector, economic sector, production sector, and multi-sector. Methodology: This study uses time-series annual data over the period 2002-2023. The autoregressive distributed lag; bound test and error correction model are applied to find short-run and long-run impact. Result: The bounds test for cointegration, confirms that there is no long-run relationship between the dependent variable and the set of covariates in all regressions. The short-term dynamics results indicate that aggregated foreign aid has a negative and statistically significant impact on income inequality in Nepal. When foreign aid is disaggregated by sector, its impact varies. Aid directed toward the social sector and multi-sector initiatives appears to reduce income inequality, whereas aid to the economic and production sectors shows a weaker and inconsistent effect on inequality. Conclusion: Social and multi-sector aid effectively reduces inequality by directing funds to health, education, social services, and environmental protection projects benefiting low-income populations. Conversely, economic and production sector aid often supports urban projects, reaching fewer marginalized communities. Policymakers should prioritize social programs and adapt economic aid to promote inclusive growth, such as rural infrastructure and small enterprise support, to improve equity. Also, Nepal should adopt policies that prioritize sustainable and inclusive development to strengthen the long-term relationship between aid and inequality.

  • The purpose of this study was to criticize (through available documents) the lecture in English at colleges. It is necessary that a study of English is emphasized in the era of internationalization. But, the indiscreet extension of lecture in English without consideration of the purpose, principle, and philosophy of college's education needs reflective thinking. This study criticized four dimensions, in other words the effectiveness of lecture in English, criteria of internationalization and college's competition of lecture in English, social inequality of lecture in English, and the harmfulness in the value of Korean language of lecture in English. First, most researches expressed the indiscreet extension of lecture in English was not effective in both students and professors. Second, many scholars and agencies on the internationalization and college's competition excluded the lecture in English as criteria. Third, the indiscreet extension of lecture in English had the possibility of social inequality. And fourth, the indiscreet extension of lecture in English had harmfulness in the value of Korean language and Korean's thought. College's education is an ivory tower in society. So, colleges should discard the thought that extension of lecture in English is the best way. Colleges should keep the purpose, principle, and philosophy of college's education.

  • This study aims to analyze consumption inequality of Korean elderly households. The justification for analyzing consumption inequality during old age could be summarized as follows. First, due to the rapid growth of elderly population, the intra generational inequality of older people will bring greater consequences to the society in the coming years. Second, inequality is more actualized during old age when income stops playing a major role and the everyday lives are based mostly on consumption activities. For analysis, this study used the 2nd, 5th, 7th and 9th wave of 『Korea Labor and Income Panel Study』. The findings are as follows. First, total consumption inequality of elderly households is gradually decreasing after the economic crisis. Also, the gini coefficient of consumption items representing modern consumption culture, such as expenditures on eating out and car maintenance is decreasing. However, the inequality contribution rate of such items is continually rising, indicating that whereas the elderly households in general are being assimilated to the mainstream consumption culture, the disparity between classes is continually expanding. Second, gini coefficient and inequality contribution rate of the essentials such as food and housing has decreased indicating that basic livelihoods in general has risen. Third, the inequality of education expenditure is increasing after the year 2000 which implies that the problem of education inequality in general might have an effect on elderly households.

  • The weighted Hardy's inequality is known as (equation omitted) where -$\infty$$\leq$a$\leq$b$\leq$$\infty$ and 1 < p < $\infty$. The purpose of this article is to provide a useful formula to express the weight r(x) in terms of s(x) or vice versa employing a Bernoulli equation having the other weight as coefficients.

  • In this paper, we prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of the additive functional inequality $${\parallel}f(2x_1)+f(2x_2)+{\cdots}+f(2x_n){\parallel}{\leq}{\parallel}tf(x_1+x_2+{\cdots}+x_n){\parallel}$$ in Banach spaces where a positive integer $n{\geq}3$ and a real number t such that 2${\leq}$t

  • In this paper, by introducing a new function with two parameters, we give another generalizations of the Hilbert's integral inequality with a mixed kernel $k(x, y) = \frac {1}{A(x+y)+B{\mid}x-y{\mid}}$ and a best constant factors. As applications, some particular results with the best constant factors are considered.

  • In a series of papers [3, 4, 5], the author developed the generalized vector variational inequality with operator solutions (in short, GOVVI) by exploiting variational inequalities with operator solutions (in short, OVVI) due to Domokos and $Kolumb\acute{a}n$ [2]. In this note, we give an extension of the previous work [4] in the setting of Hausdorff locally convex spaces. To be more specific, we present an existence of solutions of (GVVI) under the weak pseudomonotonicity introduced in Yu and Yao [7] within the framework of (GOVVI).
