  • This study performed intensive indicators based on a model of economics of education. Trends of childcare in Korea were obtained by producing values developed with statistical data. Results showed that such simple initial indicator values as numbers of children, institutions and teachers have improved. However, intensive indicator values that take demographic and economic conditions into consideration have not reached the same rate of progress as the initial indicator values. In other words, qualitative growth remains at an unsatisfactory level in comparison to quantitative growth and to qualitative growth in members of the Organization for Economics Cooperation and Development (OECD).Thus, financial investment by the government should be expanded in order to reach the desired level of high quality in daycare for children.

  • From a sustainability perspective, the characteristics of upcycling fashion design by Marine Serre were analysed to understand upcycling fashion design, which can be an important way to follow sustainability values in the fashion industry, and to provide solutions for moving towards sustainable fashion. In order to derive the characteristics of upcycling fashion design from a sustainability perspective, the values of sustainable designs and the characteristics of the upcycling design were derived though the analysis of Marine Serre's seasonal collections from the 2018 F/W season to the recent 2022 F/W season. The research results are summarized as follows. First, the value of sustainable fashion design could be classified into environmental, economic, social, and cultural values. Second, Marine Serre's upcycling fashion design was driven by the characteristics of sustainable upcycling fashion design, such as environmentality, originality, variability, economy, handicraft, time, and availability. Third, Marine Serre's upcycling fashion design contained all environmental, economic, social, and cultural sustainability values. From a sustainability perspective, Marine Serre's upcycling fashion design can be said to be an upcycling fashion design with convergent values that encompasses all of the sustainability core values of environmental, economic, social, and cultural aspects.

  • Total Economic Value (TEV) provides a framework to estimate the economic value of water resources including groundwater with multiple applications to natural resource economics and environmental economics. Crucial to the application of economic analysis to natural resources are techniques to value the resources as an economic value that is expressed in monetary terms. On the other hand, the aim of TEV estimation is to determine the economic value of water resources including 'use' with production and recreation and 'non-use' such as existence values. TEV is used to assess the economic value of water resources for the multiple goods, and environmental 'services' that are provided by a water resource and also used to assess options for water use, for example balancing production values provided by water resource use against the cost of resource degradation by that use. The value of TEV can be assessed over time where pollution or unsustainable use may reduce the economic value of an environmental asset. Therefore, values are used to assess options of resource use, sometimes leading to policies on resource conservation or allocation. In conclusion, the application of TEV would be well adjusted over Jeju Island where groundwater resources account for more than 98% water resources and the budget of water demand/supply shows disparity over the Island.

  • Purpose - This study aims to develop a valid and appropriate method for measuring the economic value of intangible cultural resources. Design/methodology/approach - Building upon the concepts explored in many studies on the total value regulation of public goods or environmental goods, which are non-market value commodities, with a focus on the intangible cultural property Arirang, this study aims to formulate a new economic value concept for cultural resources that contributes to the overall economic total value, including non-use value. Based on this foundation, the study aim to identify and apply the most efficient model(CVM) among economic value measurement methods, as suggested by Tietenberg (2003). Findings - This involves estimating economic value through consumer behavior, encompassing the use or experience of cultural resources, as well as utilizing statements to estimate economic methods through consumer surveys. Only by presenting individual resource economic values of cultural resources in objective figures can a foundation be established for creating budgets and organizational structures to promote projects and policies. Research implications or Originality - Appropriate decisions can then be made by comparing these values with the expected costs in the management and planning process.

  • The present study investigates the impact of perceived value metrics in driving satisfaction and behavioral intention to use e-resource among its users. Utilitarian, hedonic, uniqueness, epistemic, and economic are key values selected for the purpose of investigation in the study. This empirical study is carried out through a survey and responses have been analyzed using structural equation modelling. The target group is selected by means of simple random sampling (users of e-resources in selected business schools). Findings of the study reveal that utilitarian values, hedonic values, epistemic values, and uniqueness values have a significant impact on the usage intention of e-resources; however, economic values reflect an insignificant relationship to intention to use e-resources. The study is a distinctive piece of work on investigating the most and the least significant value(s) associated with satisfaction and usage intentions of e-resources.
