In order to reduce the length of off-gauge at FGC(Flying gauge change) point, We adopted dynamic set up in No. 4 cold rolling mill. The conventional set-up of FGC(Flying gauge change) was calculated on the basis of preset values in the process control computer, so the difference between actual strip thickness and preset thickness cause long off-gauge. The dynamic SET-UP control was calculated on the basis of actual strip thickness of FGC(Flying gauge change) point from X-ray gauge of mill entry and No.i stand. We applied dynamic SET-UP control in September last year. Compare to the previous result, the length of off-gauge is reduced by about 36%.

In this paper, the dynamic response of a CNC 5 Axles machining center was analyzed and then controlled passively by using the dynamic absorber. For the simplification of the theoretical approach, the CNC 5 Axles machining center was modeled as a flexible beam(Bed) having a point mass(Column), two discrete systems(a Table-set and a dynamic absorber). Specifically by using the dynamic absorber, the dynamic response of a Table-set which be caused by the vibration of a flexible beam, was reduced down to the infinitesimal level. The optimal design factors of the dynamic absorber were obtained from the minimization of the cost function. It was found that the natural frequencies of a UT-380 machining center be varied due to the movement of the Table-set. In view of the dynamic response of a Table-set, the larger spring stiffness and mass of the dynamic absorber were found to give the greater reduction.
A dynamic mill set-up technique was developed to achieva a more precise roll gap set-up of the finishing mill stands for steel strip rolling. In the conventional mill set-up model the set-up values such as roll gap and roll speed are determined before the sheet bar reached the entry side of the finishing mill train and maintained constant until the strip top end passes through the last stand. In the way however a dynamic set-up logic that gives a way to adjust the roll gap value of the final mill stand for the strip ingoing from the ahead of the front stand was developed and attached to the existing set-up model. The roll gap modification is based on the analysis of the observation in the third stand of the finishing mill train. The dynamic set-up model was proved very effective for the more precise mill set-up and for operational stability in the hot strip finishing mill train.
Skyline queries are an important new search capability for multi-dimensional databases. Most of the previous works have focused on processing skyline queries over static data set. However, most of the real applications deal with the dynamic data set. Since dynamic data set constantly changes as time passes, the continuous skyline computation over dynamic data set becomes ever more complicated. In this paper, we propose a multiple layer grids method for continuous skyline computation (MLGCS) that maintains multiple layer grids to manage the dynamic data set. The proposed method divides the work space into multiple layer grids and creates the skyline influence region in the grid of each layer. In the continuous environment, the continuous skyline queries are only handled when the updating data points are in the skyline influence region of each layer grid. Experiments based on various data distributions show that our proposed method outperforms the existing methods.
We developed a numerical method to analyze the contact-line problems, incorporating a dynamic contact angle model. We used level set method to capture free surface. The method is applied to the analysis of dynamic behavior of a droplet in DC electrowetting. The result is compared with an experimental data and result of perturbation method.

Set-up reduction is an important aspect of the Japanese Just-In-Time (JIT) and Zero Inventory (ZI) concepts. In this paper, we first analyze the effects of set-up cost reduction on tatal inventory, average lot size and forecast horizon in the dynamic lot size model. We also examine the various effects of set-up cost reduction in the EOQ model and explain why many Japanese firms try to cut set-up cost and/or set-up time greatly.

Many kinds of dynamic absorbers have been used to reduce the vibration of machineries and structures. In the typical ones, however low damping capacity, durability and limited install condition restrict their application. In this study, high damped dynamic absorber was proposed for diesel generator set. Developed absorber is composed with mass and coil springs. Silicone oil was filled inside the narrow gap between mass and casing. Viscous damping of silicon oil act as additional damping so that proposed dynamic absorber is suitable for D/G set which have adjacent resonance frequency to operation speed. The performance of the dynamic absorber was confirmed through the actual test on diesel engine generator set.

The purpose of the work is to improve comfort of a car seat, especially dynamic comfort which affects driver's discomfort during the long time driving. Definition of dynamic comfort was made before the investigation of which parameter affects seat comfort. In order to optimize design parameters so as to maximize seat comfort as well as to know the cause of discomfort, benchmarking on a target vehicle and competitive vehicles was performed, which showed both the vibration transmission characteristics and the compression set due to dynamic loading should be reduced. As a solution ball rebounds was increased by about 10% of the original foam, which showed reduction of S.E.A.T. value by 10% and of compression set by 60%.
$DF_{21}$ diesel locomotive was designed to satisfy the requirement of Kunming Meter track and the 2Co self-guided radial bogie was used to suit the complex curve track. There are totally 12 locomotives was served on the track. The first two locomotives were devotion running on the track since April 2003, the wheel tread splling was occurred on the middle wheel set of the two locomotives after running nearly 150 thousands km on the track of the two locomotives at August 2004. The dynamic analysis was carried out to find the reason. The wheel set longitudinal vibration resonance phenomenon was existed on the locomotive dynamic performance, and this was caused by the too big longitudinal stiffness of the journal box bar on the middle wheel set. Wheel set longitudinal vibration resonance maybe an important reason of lead to wheel tread spalling. The corresponding mend methods were put forward from the point of view of wheel set longitudinal vibration resonance. All the wheel tread of the 12 locomotives on the middle wheel set were in good condition and not occurred the wheel tread spalling after the mend till December 2007 after 350 thousands km were finished. The mechanism of the wheel tread splling and corresponding mend method was discussed in detail in this paper.

According to the characteristic of carrier-based aircraft, the method of solving safe set during arresting landing is discussed in this paper based on optimal control and invariant set theory. The safe sets of carrier aircraft are evaluated in different states on the characteristic of longitudinal augmented system by using the level set method. Then, the influence on the boundary of safe set under various factors is analyzed. At last, the maneuverability envelope protection is established based on the corresponding theory, and the validity of the system is verified through simulation. The results demonstrate preliminarily that: compared with mass and thrust, the elevator is the greatest influence factor for the boundary of safe set; the dynamic trajectory of carrier-based aircraft can be located at the interior of safe set effectively with the maneuverability envelope protection.
