The effects of blasting and acidic treatment on the corrosion characteristics of dental implant fabricated with Cp-Ti and Ti-6Al-4V alloy have been researched by using electrochemical methods. The fabricated implants were cleaned and sandblasted by $Al_2O_3$ powder and then acidic treatment was carried out in nitric acid solution. The surface morphology were observed using scanning electron microscope. The corrosion behaviors were investigated using potentiosat and EIS in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. The potentio-dynamic test in 0.9% NaCl indicated that the corrosion potential of blasting and acidic treated implant was lower than that of non treated implant, but current density was higher than that of non treated implant. From the cyclic potentiodynamic test results of Ti implant, the passivation current density of blasting and acidic treated implant slightly higher than that of non treated implant. From A.C. impedance test results in 0.9% NaCl solution, polarization resistance($R_p$) value of blasting and acidic treated implant was lower than that of non treated implant. In case of blasting and acidic treated implant surface, the pits were observed in valley and crest of implant surface.
Curing behaviors of glass/epoxy prepreg for printed circuit boards (PCB) were studied by using dielectrometer and differential scanning calorimeter. This prepreg was showed the lowest ionic viscosity at about 115$^{\circ}C$, and then the ionic viscosity was gradully increased up to 15$0^{\circ}C$. This indicated that the curing reaction of this prepreg started at 115$^{\circ}C$ and the molecular weight was increased by the accelerated thermal cross-linking reaction. The loss factor and tan $\delta$ values were also measured and discussed. The dielectric behaviors of this prepreg system were also measured according to the cure cycle for PCB. This material was found to be thermally stable up to about 30$0^{\circ}C$ and then was showed an abrupt decomposition beyond this temperature.
An oxide-dispersion-strengthened (ODS) layer was formed on Zircaloy-4 tubes by a laser beam scanning process to increase mechanical strength. Laser beam was used to scan the yttrium oxide ($Y_2O_3$)-coated Zircaloy-4 tube to induce the penetration of $Y_2O_3$ particles into Zircaloy-4. Laser surface treatment resulted in the formation of an ODS layer as well as microstructural phase transformation at the surface of the tube. The mechanical strength of Zircaloy-4 increased with the formation of the ODS layer. The ring-tensile strength of Zircaloy-4 increased from 790 to 870 MPa at room temperature, from 500 to 575 MPa at $380^{\circ}C$, and from 385 to 470 MPa at $500^{\circ}C$. Strengthening became more effective as the test temperature increased. It was noted that brittle fracture occurred at room temperature, which was not observed at elevated temperatures. Resistance to dynamic high-temperature bursting improved. The burst temperature increased from 760 to $830^{\circ}C$ at a heating rate of $5^{\circ}C/s$ and internal pressure of 8.3 MPa. The burst opening was also smaller than those in fresh Zircaloy-4 tubes. This method is expected to enhance the safety of Zr fuel cladding tubes owing to the improvement of their mechanical properties.
The moisture absorption properties such as diffusion coefficient and moisture content ratio of liquid type epoxy resin systems with the filler were investigated. Bisphenol A type and Bisphenol F type epoxy resin, Kayahard MCD as hardener and 2-methylimidazole as catalyst were used in these epoxy resin systems. The nano-sized spherical type fused silica as filler were used in order to study the moisture absorption properties of these liquid type epoxy encapsulant according to the change of filler size. The temperature of glass transition (Tg) of these epoxy resin systems was measured using Dynamic Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), and the moisture absorption properties of these epoxy resin systems according to the change of time were observed at $85^{\circ}C$ and 85% relative humidity condition using a thermo-hygrostat. The diffusion coefficients in these systems were calculated in terms of modified Crank equation based on Ficks' law. An increase of Tg and diffusion coefficient with filler size in these systems can be observed, which are attributed to the increase of free volume with Tg. The change of maximum moisture absorption ratio according to the filler size and filler content cannot be observed; however, the diffusion coefficients of these systems decreased with filler content. The diffusion via free volume is dominant in the epoxy resin systems with low nano-sized filler content; however, the diffusion with the interaction of absorption according the increase of the filler surface area is dominant in the liquid type epoxy encapsulant with high nano-sized filler content.
We present the magnetisation reversal dynamics of epitaxial Fe thin films grown on GaAs(001) and InAs(001) studied as a function of field sweep rate in the range 0.01-160 kOe/s using magneto-optic Kerr effect (MOKE). For 55 and 250 ${\AA}$ Fe/GaAs(001), we find that the hysteresis loop area A follows the scaling relation $A\propto H_{\alpha} \;with\; \alpha=0.03\sim0.05$ at low sweep rates and 0.33~0.40 at high sweep rates. For the 150${\AA}$ Fe/InAs(001) film, $\alpha$is found to be ~0.02 at low sweep rates and ~0.17 at high sweep rates. The differing values of $\alpha$ are attributed to a change of the magnetisation reversal process with increasing sweep rate. Domain wall motion dominates the magnetisation reversal at low sweep rates, but becomes less significant with increasing sweep rate. At high sweep rates, the variation of the dynamic coercivity $H_c{^*}$ is attributed to domain nucleation dominating the reversal process. The results of magnetic relaxation studies for easy-axis reversal are consistent with the sweeping of one or more walls through the entire probed region (~100$\mu m$). Domain images obtained by scanning Kerr microscopy during the easy cubic axis reversal process reveal large area domains separated by zigzag walls.
Tungsten heavy alloys (W-Ni-Fe) play an important role in various industries because of their excellent mechanical properties, such as the excellent hardness of tungsten, low thermal expansion, corrosion resistance of nickel, and ductility of iron. In tungsten heavy alloys, tungsten nanoparticles allow the relatively low-temperature molding of high-melting-point tungsten and can improve densification. In this study, to improve the densification of tungsten heavy alloy, nanoparticles are manufactured by ultrasonic milling of metal oxide. The physical properties of the metal oxide and the solvent viscosity are selected as the main parameters. When the density is low and the Mohs hardness is high, the particle size distribution is relatively high. When the density is high and the Mohs hardness is low, the particle size distribution is relatively low. Additionally, the average particle size tends to decrease with increasing viscosity. Metal oxides prepared by ultrasonic milling in high-viscosity solvent show an average particle size of less than 300 nm based on the dynamic light scattering and scanning electron microscopy analysis. The effects of the physical properties of the metal oxide and the solvent viscosity on the pulverization are analyzed experimentally.
The accurate prediction of snow distributions under the wind action on roofs plays an important role in designing structures in civil engineering in regions with heavy snowfall. Affected by some factors such as building shapes, sizes and layouts, the snow drifting on roofs shows more three-dimensional characteristics. Thus, the research on three-dimensional snow distribution is needed. Firstly, four groups of stepped flat roofs are designed, of which the width-height ratio is 3, 4, 5 and 6. Silica sand with average radius of 0.1 mm is used to model the snow particles and then the wind tunnel test of snow drifting on stepped flat roofs is carried out. 3D scanning is used to obtain the snow distribution after the test is finished and the mean mass transport rate is calculated. Next, the wind velocity and duration is determined for numerical simulations based on similarity criteria. The adaptive-mesh method based on radial basis function (RBF) interpolation is used to simulate the dynamic change of snow phase boundary on lower roofs and then a time-marching analysis of steady snow drifting is conducted. The overall trend of numerical results are generally consistent with the wind tunnel tests and field measurements, which validate the accuracy of the numerical simulation. The combination between the wind tunnel test and CFD simulation for three-dimensional typical roofs can provide certain reference to the prediction of the distribution of snow loads on typical roofs.
In mobility industries, the use of thermoplastic composites increased dynamically. In this study, the mechanical and impregnation properties of continuous glass fiber (GF)/polypropylene (PP) composite were evaluated with different GF contents. The GF/PP commingled fiber was manufactured with different GF contents and continuous GF/PP composite was manufactured using continuous compression molding process. Tensile, flexural, and impact test of specimens were evaluated with different GF contents. The fracture behavior of specimens was proved using field emission-scanning electron microscope images of fracture area and impregnation property was evaluated using dynamic mechanical analyzer and interlaminar shear strength. Finally, the GF/PP composite was the optimized mechanical and impregnation properties using 50 wt.% GF/PP commingled fiber.
In this study, Ni nanoparticle supported by graphene oxide (GO) (Ni-GO) is successfully synthesized through hydrothermal synthesis and calcination, and Cr(VI) is extracted from aqueous solution. The morphology and structure of Ni-GO composites are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), trans mission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and XRD confirms the high dispersion of Ni nanoparticle after support by GO. Loading Ni on GO can obviously enhance the stability of Ni-GO composites. It can be calculated from TGA that the mass percentage of Ni is about 60.67 %. The effects of initial pH and reaction time on Cr(VI) removal ability of Ni-GO are investigated. The results indicate that the removal efficiency of Cr(VI) is greater than that of bared GO. Ni-GO shows fast removal capacity for Cr(VI) (<25 min) with high removal efficiency. Dynamic experiments show that the removal process conforms to the quasi-second order model of adsorption, which indicates that the rate control step of the removal process is chemical adsorption. The removal capacity increases with the increase of temperature, indicating that the reaction of Cr(VI) on Ni-GO composites is endothermic and spontaneous. Combined with tests and characterization, the mechanism of Cr(VI) removal by rapidly adsorption on the surface of Ni-GO and reduction by Ni nanoparticle is investigated. The above results show that Ni-GO can be used as a potential remediation agent for Cr(VI)-contaminated groundwater.
With the development of digital graphics technology, the metaverse has become a significant trend in the content market. The demand for technology that generates high-quality 3D (dimension) models is rapidly increasing. Accordingly, various technical attempts are being made to create high-quality 3D virtual humans represented by digital humans. 3D volumetric capture is spotlighted as a technology that can create a 3D manikin faster and more precisely than the existing 3D model creation method. In this study, we try to analyze 3D high-precision facial production technology based on practical cases of the difficulties in content production and technologies applied in volumetric 3D and 4D model creation. Based on the actual model implementation case through 3D volumetric capture, we considered techniques for 3D virtual human face production and producted a new metahuman using a graphics pipeline for an efficient human facial generation.
