This paper is concerned with the comparison of component mode synthesis md substructure synthesis methods. Those two methods were developed for the dynamic analysis of complex structure. However, the difference between two methods in solving the dynamic problem has never been explained. In this paper, a structure consisting of two beams is considered for the application of two methods. The dynamic formulation shows the characteristics and differences of two methods. The procedure for choosing proper substructure modes in each method is explained in detail. In addition, the advantage of the substructure synthesis method is discussed based on the numerical example. Numerical examples show how two methods are applied to the addressed problem.
The objective of this study is to investigate the dynamic behavior of elastic beams subjected to moving loads. Although analytical methods are available, they have limitations with respect to complicated structures. The use of computer technology in recent years is an effective way to solve the problem; thus using the latest technology this study establishes a finite-element solution procedure to investigate dynamic behaviors of a typical elastic beam having a set of constant geometric properties and various span lengths. Both the dead load of the beam and traffic load are applied in which the traffic load is considered a concentrated moving force with various traveling passage speeds on the beam. Dynamic behaviors including deflection, shear, and bending moment due to moving loads are obtained by both analytical and finite element methods; for simple structures, they have an excellent agreement. The numerical results show that based on analytical methods the fundamental mode is good enough to estimate the dynamic deflection along the beam, but is not sufficient to simulate the total response of the shear force or the bending moment. The linear dynamic behavior of the elastic beams subjected to multiple exciting loads can easily be found by linear superposition, and the geometric nonlinear results caused by large deformation and axial force of the beam are always underestimated with only a few exceptions which are indicated. In order to make the results useful, they have been nondimensionalized and presented in graphical form.
In order to investigate the seismic behavior and seismic design methods in the transverse direction of a shield tunnel, a series of model shaking table tests and a two-dimensional finite element dynamic analysis on the tests are carried out. Two kinds of static analytical methods based on ground-tunnel composite finite element model and beam-spring element model are proposed, and the validity of the static analyses is verified by model shaking table tests. The investigation concerns the dynamic response behavior of a tunnel and the ground, the interaction between the tunnel and ground, and an evaluation of different seismic design methods. Results of the investigation indicate that the shield tunnel follows the surrounding ground in displacement and dynamic characteristics in the transverse direction; also, the static analytical methods proposed by the authors can be used directly as the seismic design methods in the transverse direction of a shield tunnel.
Steel-concrete-steel (SCS) sandwich structures have important advantages over conventional concrete structures, however, bond-slip between the steel plate and concrete may lead to a loss of composite action, resulting in a reduction of stiffness and fatigue life of SCS sandwich structures. Due to the inaccessibility and invisibility of the interface, the interfacial performance monitoring and debonding detection using traditional measurement methods, such as relative displacement between the steel plate and core concrete, have proved challenging. In this work, two methods using piezoelectric transducers are proposed to detect the bond-slip between steel plate and core concrete during the test of the beam. The first one is acoustic emission (AE) method, which can detect the dynamic process of bond-slip. AE signals can be detected when initial micro cracks form and indicate the damage severity, types and locations. The second is electromechanical impedance (EMI) method, which can be used to evaluate the damage due to bond-slip through comparing with the reference data in static state, even if the bond-slip is invisible and suspends. In this work, the experiment is implemented to demonstrate the bond-slip monitoring using above methods. Experimental results and further analysis show the validity and unique advantage of the proposed methods.

There are a lot of linear dynamic analysis methods for complex structures. Each method has advantages and shortcomings. Method of dynamic analysis for complex structure is selected considering characteristics of dynamic loading, computer facility available number of degree of freedem and accuracy of results. It is a main point of view to get economical results rather then accurate ones for analysis of general complex structures, Mode superposition method and direct integration method are generally used. However, the characteristics of load is not considered in mode superpositon method, the personal computer cannot be used in direct integration methods. To over-come these shortcomings, the component mode method incorporating Ritz algorithm updated is proposed to solve economically dynamic behavior of the structures. The purpose of study is a formulation of algorithm, and computer programing suitable for dynamic analysis of the complex structure in personal computer environment.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to suggest the basic materials for proposing effective and efficient methods when stretching by measuring isokinetic muscular strength according to static, dynamic and PNF stretching. Methods: This study was conducted on 45 healthy persons (male and female) in their twenties who are attending universities. The subjects are randomly divided into three (3) groups, and static stretching is applied in group 1, dynamic stretching is applied in group 2 and PNF stretching is applied in group 3. After carrying out static, dynamic and PNF stretching, peak torque was measured using isokinetic muscular strength measurement. Results: According to the results, at $60^{\circ}$/sec and $180^{\circ}$/sec isokinetic peak torque of the knee joint according to types of stretching, the largest changes were shown in Group 2 extension and flexion, and the least changes were shown in Group 1. There were significant differences among the three groups (p<0.05), and the result of after-analysis by LSD showed that there were significant differences between Groups 1 and 2, and Groups 1 and 3 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The intention of this study was to determine the peak torque using Cybex after applying three stretching methods to hamstring muscles, and the case of dynamic and PNF stretching was found to be more significant in both the $60^{\circ}$/sec and $180^{\circ}$/sec angular speeds than that of static stretching. Using the results of such studies, if dynamic and PNF stretching are applied together with warming-up before performing sports, the risk of suffering wounds would reduce and the exactness of sports would increase.

In the manufacturing industry, dispatching systems play a crucial role in enhancing production efficiency and optimizing production volume. However, in dynamic production environments, conventional static dispatching methods struggle to adapt to various environmental conditions and constraints, leading to problems such as reduced production volume, delays, and resource wastage. Therefore, there is a need for dynamic dispatching methods that can quickly adapt to changes in the environment. In this study, we aim to develop an agent-based model that considers dynamic situations through interaction between agents. Additionally, we intend to utilize the Q-learning algorithm, which possesses the characteristics of temporal difference (TD) learning, to automatically update and adapt to dynamic situations. This means that Q-learning can effectively consider dynamic environments by sensitively responding to changes in the state space and selecting optimal dispatching rules accordingly. The state space includes information such as inventory and work-in-process levels, order fulfilment status, and machine status, which are used to select the optimal dispatching rules. Furthermore, we aim to minimize total tardiness and the number of setup changes using reinforcement learning. Finally, we will develop a dynamic dispatching system using Q-learning and compare its performance with conventional static dispatching methods.
PURPOSES: It is important to consider the long-term performance of concrete pavement, because concrete pavement is more exposed to the various environmental conditions than any other concrete structures. One of the several methods to evaluate the long-term performance of concrete during winter is KS F 2456. Relative dynamic modulus of elasticity shows the resistance to freezing and thawing. METHODS: To measure relative dynamic modulus of elasticity, ultra sonic is generally used. But in this study, to measure the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity, both ultra sonic and shear wave were used and then compared each other. RESULTS: The results from the measurement by ultrasonic wave and shear wave were divided into three types. Type 1 : Specimens are good and relative dynamic modulus of elasticity did not decrease until 300 cycle. Type 2 : The relative dynamic modulus of elasticity decreased from the late cycle.(about 150 cycle later) Type 3 : The relative dynamic modulus of elasticity consistently decreased from the beginning. As a result of ANOVA, there is no difference according to measuring method, in type 2 and 3. But there is a difference according to measuring method, in type 1's relative dynamic modulus of elasticity. CONCLUSIONS: It is proved that shear wave can be used to understand the damage tendency of relative freezing and thawing and to measure the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity.
The number of measured degrees of freedom for detecting the damage of any structures is usually less than the number of model degrees of freedom. It is necessary to expand the measured data to full set of model degrees of freedom for updating modal data. This study presents the expansion methods to estimate all static displacements and dynamic modal data of finite element model from the measured data. The static and dynamic methods are derived by minimizing the variation of the potential energy and the Gauss's function, respectively. The applications illustrate the validity of the proposed methods. It is observed that the numerical results obtained by the static approach correspond with the Guyan condensation method and the derived static and dynamic approaches provide the fundamental idea for damage detection.

In this paper, several dynamic systems are modeled using the time domain finite element method. Galerkins' Weak Principle is used to model the general second-order mechanical system, and is applied to a simple pendulum dynamics. Problems caused by approximating the final momentum are also investigated. Extending the research, some dynamic analysis methods are suggested for the hybrid coordinate systems that have both slew and flexible modes. The proposed methods are based on both Extended Hamilton's Principle and Galerkin's Weak Principle. The matrix wave equation is propagated in space domain, satisfying the geometric/natural boundary conditions. As a result, the flexible motion can be obtained compatible with the applied control input. Numerical example is shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed modeling methods for the hybrid coordinate systems.
