Recent global supply chain, improving the efficiency of container shipping process is very important. In the overseas shipping of goods, the voyage of super containership is common to overcome amount of increasing cargo. Thus, container terminal managers make an experiment on the double cycle and dual cycle operation, which ship loading and unloading were carried out simultaneously, for maximizing the productivity of quay side. Yard Tractors(YTs) pooling methods also are introduced for increasing the efficiency of assignment of YTs. In this paper, we analyzed the efficiency of dual cycling through comparing existing pooling methods with the modified method for the dual cycling. We developed a simulation model using simulation analysis software, Arena. The result of experiment shown that the more dual cycling don't always increase the gross crane rate(GCR), which means productivity of quay cranes(QCs) per hour.
At container terminals, a major measurement of productivity can be work-efficiency in quay-side. At the apron, containers are loaded onto the ship and unloaded to apron by Q/C(Quay Crane). For improving the productivity of quay crane, the more efficient Y/T(Yard Tractor) operation method is necessary in container terminals. Between quay-side and yard area, current transferring methods is single-cycling which doesn't start loading unless it finishes unloading. Dual-cycling is a technique that can be used to improve the productivity of quay-side and utility of yard tractor by ship loading and unloading simultaneously. Using the dual-cycling at terminals only necessitates an operational change without purchasing extra equipment. Exactly, Y/T operation method has to be changed the dedicate system to pooling system. This paper presents an efficient ship loading and unloading plan in container terminals, which use the dual-cycling. We propose genetic and tabu search algorithm for this problem.

This work shows how the adoption of a dual-dicing process for silicon wafer separation affects the thermal-cycling reliability (i.e. $-65^{\circ}C$ to $150^{\circ}C$) of the semiconductor devices utilizing lead-on-chip (LOC) die attach technique. In-situ examinations show that conventional single-dicing process directly attacks the edge region of diced devices but dual-dicing process effectively protects the edge region of diced devices from dicing-induced mechanical damage. Probably, this is because the preferential and sacrificial fracture of notched regions induced on the active surface of wafers saves the edge regions. It was also investigated through thermal-cycling tests that the number of thermal-cycling induced failures is much lower at the dual-dicing process than the single-dicing process.
One of the most important objectives of the schedules in a container terminal is to minimize the ship operation time, which consists of discharging and loading operation times. Recently, dual cycling techniques have been used for improving terminal operations, especially for reducing the total empty trips of handling equipment. The main focus of this study is to reduce the empty trip times of yard trucks with minimum delays for ship operations. A heuristic algorithm, modified from a previous algorithm, is proposed to solve this problem. A simulation study is conducted to evaluate the effect of different types of discharging and loading schedules and different locating methods for discharging containers in terms of the performance of the system, including the percentage of the dual cycle operations of yard trucks.

Background/Objectives: This paper proposes a dual mode feedback-controlled cycling system for children with spastic cerebral palsy to rehabilitate upper extremities. Repetitive upper limb exercise in this therapy aims to both reduce and analyze the abnormal torque patterns of arm movements in three- dimensional space. Methods/Statistical analysis: We designed an exercycle robot which consists of a BLDC motor, a torque sensor, a bevel gear and bearings. Mechanical structures are customized for children of age between 7~13 years old and induces reaching and pulling task in a symmetric circulation. The shafts and external frames were designed and printed using 3D printer. While the child performs active/passive exercise, angular position, angular velocity, and relative torque of the pedal shaft are measured and displayed in real time. Findings: Experiment was designed to observe the features of a cerebral palsy child's exercise. Two children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy participated in the experiment and conducted an active exercise at normal speed for 3 sets, 15 seconds for each. As the pedal reached 90 degrees and 270 degrees, the subject showed minimum torque, in which the child showed difficulty in the pulling task of the cycle. The passive exercise assisted the child to maintain a relatively constant torque while visually observing the movement patterns. Using two types of exercise enabled the child to overcome the abnormal torque measured in the active data by performing the passive exercise. Thus, this system has advantage not only in allowing the child to perform the difficult task, which may contribute in improving the muscle strength and endurance and reducing the spasticity but also provide customizable system according to the child's motion characteristic. Improvements/Applications: Further study is needed to observe how passive exercise influences the movement characteristics of an active motion and how customized experiment settings can optimize the effect of pediatric rehabilitation for spastic cerebral palsy.
ANODE-free Li-metal batteries (AFLMBs) operating with Li of cathode material have attracted enormous attention due to their exceptional energy density originating from anode-free structure in the confined cell volume. However, uncontrolled dendritic growth of lithium on a copper current collector can limit its practical application as it causes fatal issues for stable cycling such as dead Li formation, unstable solid electrolyte interphase, electrolyte exhaustion, and internal short-circuit. To overcome this limitation, here, we report a novel dual-salt electrolyte comprising of 0.2 M LiPF6 + 3.8 M lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide in a carbonate/ester co-solvent with 5 wt% fluoroethylene carbonate, 2 wt% vinylene carbonate, and 0.2 wt% LiNO3 additives. Because the dual-salt electrolyte facilitates uniform/dense Li deposition on the current collector and can form robust/ionic conductive LiF-based SEI layer on the deposited Li, a Li/Li symmetrical cell exhibits improved cycling performance and low polarization for over 200 h operation. Furthermore, the anode-free LiFePO4/Cu cells in the carbonate electrolyte shows significantly enhanced cycling stability compared to the counterparts consisting of different salt ratios. This study shows an importance of electrolyte design guiding uniform Li deposition and forming stable SEI layer for AFLMBs.
The shuttle that currently connects Busan New Port to the logistics companies in the Hinterland has the following companies: first, resources are consumed redundantly as each logistics company has independent transport vehicles. Second, the companies are not taking advantage of geographical merits of clustered complexes because different vehicles are used each time due to irregular schedules. In this respect, this study had the following purposes to realize these solutions: first, heuristic approach was made for operation scheduling and real-time operating rules to configure the best possible dynamic plan. Second, the reduction of consumption of resources with the shuttle and the efficiency were examined through a simulation of pooling and dual cycling applied to logistics companies' shipping plans.
Recently, container terminal managers make an experiment on the double cycle and dual cycle operation, which ship loading and unloading were carried out simultaneously, for increasing the productivity of quay side. If, however, we make an experiment on dual cycle operation in a real job site, the efficiency is poor up to terminal operation method as YTs(Yard Tractors)' allocation method, QCs(Quay Cranes)' working speed, and position of export containers. Especially, using the existing yard operation method, it is difficult to support to dual and double cycle operation. Therefore, this paper examine more efficient terminal operation method, when terminal uses dual cycle operation. We developed a simulation model using simulation analysis software, Arena.

A 12-bit 750 kS/s Dual-Sampling Successive Approximation Register Analog-to-Digital Converter (SAR ADC) technique with reduced Capacitive DAC (CDAC) is presented in this paper. By adopting the Adaptive Power Control (APC) technique for the two-stage latched type comparator and using bootstrap switch, power consumption can be reduced and overall system efficiency can be optimized. Bootstrapped switches also are used to enhance the sampling linearity at a high input frequency. The proposed SAR ADC reduces the average switching energy compared with conventional SAR ADC by adopting reduced the Most Significant Bit (MSB) cycling step with Dual-Sampling of the analog signal. This technique holds the signal at both comparator input asymmetrically in sample mode. Therefore, the MSB can be calculated without consuming any switching energy. The prototype SAR ADC was implemented in $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology and occupies $0.728mm^2$. The measurement results show the proposed ADC achieves an Effective Number-of-Bits (ENOB) of 10.73 at a sampling frequency of 750 kS/s and clock frequency of 25 MHz. It consumes only 0.13 mW from a 5.0-V supply and achieves the INL and DNL of +2.78/-2.45 LSB and +0.36/-0.73 LSB respectively, SINAD of 66.35 dB, and a Figures-of-Merit (FoM) of a 102 fJ/conversion-step.
