  • Electronic products are subjected to many different types of shock environment. As the Optical Disc Drive (ODD) market grows, the number of failures related to shock increases. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the performance of cushion package as well as the product design. Cushion materials such as expanded polystyrene are often used to protect electronic products from shock environment. In this paper, the drop analysis of the cushion package f3r optical disc drives was carried out with the explicit method of LS-DYNA and verified by the drop test. For the optimization of package, response surface approximation model was created using central composite design. As a result, cushioning performance was improved under the critical condition and practical design guidelines of cushion package were suggested.

  • Finite element program(ANSYS) estimated thermal deformation quantity in high frequency heat treatment process of a machine tool fred drive system slideway and apply deformation quantity in roughing process. Having processed the heat treatment minimizing methods of the quantity of deformation heat treatment process. Having done heat treatment with high frequency after taper processing with considering the existed heat treatment generating the quantity of deformation, existed quantity of deformation can be reduced down to 80%, consequently productivity and material saving can be achieved. When high frequency heat treatment finite element method estimated deformation quantity at difference temperature and time, it is progress at cost don and saved time.

브레이크 압력 추정을 적용한 구동력 제어 (Traction Control with Brake Pressure Estimation)

  • Traction control suppresses the spinning of the driven wheel during drive away or acceleration on slippery road condition. In this study, the estimation method of brake pressure hardly measured is proposed. The estimation method of brake pressure and the brake pressure control with pulse width modulation(PWM) are verified a good performance through experiment. Also, the vehicle simulation on slippery road conditions is validated the applicability of brake pressure control for traction control. The simulation results have showed that the brake pressure can be used the control variable for traction control.

  • This paper deals with a novel utilization method of the predicted current in the high performance PI current controller with a control time delay. The inevitable error of the predicted current in the linear servo drive using a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor is analyzed and a modified cross-coupling decoupling synchronous frame PI current controller is proposed in order to improve the current control response under the control time delay. Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed current controller has an improved current control performance under both the electrical uncertainties of a servo drive system and the control time delay.

  • The first purpose of this paper is to develop the sensorless drive at adjustable speed without any mechanical position or speed sensor. For this, this research analyzes terminal voltage, finds the rotor position information and makes the source of commutations of phase current. The second purpose is to propose the sensing method of initial rotor position without instantaneous rotating. Experimental results show the validity and practical use of the proposed sensing method.

경운기 부착 휴립, 비닐 피복 동시작업기 개발 (Development of Ridger and Vinyl Mulcher for Power Tiller)

  • Ridger and vinyl mulcher for 8-10 PS power tiller which were distributed at the rate of one out of 2.3 farm households in Korea, was developed to ease the labor shortage of tobacco production. Devices wheel shaft extension by 30cm at both sides improved the stability of straight drive and enabled to save required labor hours by 50% for ridging at sloping field. Screw type blades were attached on center drive rotavator shaft, gear set was deviled to reverse the rotavator, and it was good at need to adjust the width and height for ridge. As the results, required labor hours for ridging and vinyl mulching could be saved by 90% as compared to conventional manual method after cattle plowing, and by 50% as compared to conventional power tiller method.

  • In this paper, we propose a new servo system design strategy to reduce the position error signal(PES) and track mis-registration(TMR) in magnetic disk drive systems. The proposed method provides a systematic design procedure based on the plant model and an optimal solution via an optimization with a 'Robust Random Neighborhood Search(RRNS)' algorithm. In addition, it guarantees the minimum PES level as well as stability to parametric uncertainties. Furthermore, the proposed method can be used to estimate the performance at the design stage and thus can reduce the cost and time for the design of the next generation product. The reduction of PES as well as robust stability is demonstrated by simulation and experiments.

  • Optical Archive system consists of cartridge, drive and transfer robot. Transfer robot moves disc in cartridge to drive that reads data of disc. Distance between disc in cartridge and transfer robot very short, about 4mm. When disc projects, there is a danger of collision. Collision can cause breakage of disc and breakdown of system. To prevent collision of disc and transfer robot, projection of disc should be detected. In this paper, we proposed error monitoring method of projecting disc in archive data storage using camera. Proposed algorithm is evaluated by experiments with archive system.

  • This paper is concerned with the investigation of the impurity redistribution process in a two step diffusion. In integrated circuit technology, two step boron diffusion involving a deposition step followed by a drive-in step in commonly encounted. The drive-in process is usually performed in oxidizing atmosphere resulting in redistribution of impurity (boron) within the semiconductor. This paper proposes a new numerical analysis method; Bounary Element Method to determine impurity profile at the arbitrary point in domain by its coordinate and boundary value.

  • This paper presents a direct instantaneous torque control (DITC) of Switched Reluctance Moto (SRM) with a novel 4-level converter to obtain smooth torque and dynamic performance improvement. The DITC method can reduce the high inherent torque ripple of SRM drive system, but driving efficiency and dynamic performance are somewhat low due to the slow excitation current build-up. Since the 4-level converter can obtain a addition high voltage to get fast excitation current and demagnetization current, so, it can improve dynamic performance easily. As a high performance SRM drive system with low torque ripple and high dynamic performance can be implemented. The validity of proposed method is verified by some computer simulations and comparative experiments.
