  • This paper suggests a novel single-stage drive for a switched reluctance motor (SRM) to achieve sinusoidal, near unity power factor input currents. The proposed drive is very simple without additional active switch. As a single-stage approach, which combines a DC link capacitor used as dc source and a drive used for driving the motor into one power stage, a simple structure and low cost drive in implemented. A prototype drive for an 8/6 pole SRM equipping a suitable encoder is designed to evaluate the proposed topology. Also subscription control algorithm is presented. The characteristics and validity of the proposed circuit will be discussed in depth through the experimental results.

  • In some requirements of dc motor drive circuit applications are high quality output with generation of low internal conducted EMI. However the conventional dc motor drive circuits have been usually using unbalanced circuit which generates the high conducted EMI to the frame ground. This paper presents a balanced dc motor drive circuit which is effective way to reduce the common-mode noise. The circuit balancing is to make the noise pick up or occurring in both conductor lines, signal path and return path is equal in amplitude and opposite phase so that it will cancel out in the frame ground. The common-mode conducted noise reduction of this proposed dc motor drive is confirmed by experimental results.

  • 대용량 IGBT를 위한 새로운 능동 게이트 구동회로를 제안한다. IGBT의 우수한 스위칭 성능을 성취하기 위해 필요한 여러 구동 조건들을 최적으로 조합시킨 게이트 구동 회로이다. 스위칭 노이즈와 스트레스를 감소시키기 위해 필요한 느린 구동 조건과 스위칭 속도를 증가시키고 손실을 저감시키기 위해 요구되는 고속 구동 조건들을 동시에 만족시키고 있다. 또한 작은 전류의 턴-온시 발생되는 진동현상을 효과적으로 감쇠시킬 수 있는 특성을 지니고 있다.

  • In order to prevent a router machine feed drive system from transient operational vibration, this paper presents vibration analysis of a rack and pinion typed feed drive system for a router machine. The feed drive system was mathematically idealized as a 5-degree-of-freedom lumped parameter model. Stiffness parameters of motor-shaft, rack and pinion gears, and machine structure were appropriately considered in the modeling. Computational experiment was carried out to obtain vibrations of the feed drive system during its transient speed operation.

  • The feed drive inclination significantly influences product quality, machine tool accuracy and life time. However, the accurate measurement of the inclination needs the skilled engineers and the accurate leveling instruments such as spirits or electric levels. In this study a novel methodology for the estimation of inclination angle of machine tool feed drive is proposed. The proposed methodology utilizes the motor current signals and a new mathematical model of machine tool feed drive considering inclination. The experiment results showed that the proposed method successfully estimates the inclination angle, as well as newly proposed model also enhances the accuracy of the machine tool feed drive model by introducing the inclination effects.

  • 본 논문에서는 SC-CNN의 특성을 이용한 임베딩 구동 카오스 동기화 방법을 소개한다. SC-CNN은 Chua 회로의 미분방정식에서의 세가지 상태변수중 전류성분과 같이 동기화와 신호 합성에 어려운 상태변수를 전압성분으로 분리하여 다룰 수 있는 방법을 제공하고 있다. 여기서 지금까지 이용되오던 결합 동기나 구동동기화의 방법에 새로운 임베딩 구동 동기방식을 제안한다. 제안하는 Embedding Drive Synchronization(임베딩 구동동기)은 구동동기에서 미분상태변수를 완전히 대체하는 것이 아닌 한 성분만을 대체하여 구성되며 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

차동유성형 마찰드라이브의 개발 (Developement of planetary differential type traction drive)

  • The traction drive has advantages of having high efficiency and transmitting the power without blacklash. However, when high ratio of speed reduction is desired, excessively large size is required. In this study, a new type of traction drive is invented, designed and manufactured so that stable speed reduction mech- anisms are available by adopting a cross roller type drive. It has a simple structure, but produces high speed reduction ratio. Power loss is observed, and also, driving torque and torque transfer efficiency are calculated. Pre-loads are needed in order that the traction drive transfers power without slipping, and the spacer is enlarged due to the pre-loading. After all, the key point of pre-load mechanism is that the spacer's diameter becomes larger as pre-loads are applied.

  • This work focuses on the analysis of dynamic characteristics of an optical disk drive, Dynamic performance of the drive plays an important role in the design of a mechanism where the quality of servo mainly affected by the quality of controlling focus error and tracking error, A finite element model of the optical disk drive is presented to demonstrate its dynamic behaviors. Experimental results for the drive are presented and compared to predictions from the finite element model for verification. Using the finite element model, dynamic responses are predicted under internal and external excitations. Some design parameters of the vibration isolators are presented, satisfying the requirements of DVD drive system.

  • The preparation, characterization, and bio-testing of biocide incorporated silicone coatings for marine applications have been conducted. Derivatives of the biocide, Triclosan (5-chloro-2-(2, 4-dichlorophenoxy) phenol), were used to covalently attach the biocide moiety to a silicone backbone. The synthetic process allowed for control of the resulting coating's mechanical properties as well as antifouling/fouling release performance in laboratory and ocean site testing. The test results showed significantly reduce macro fouling with sustained fouling release characteristics for the coatings produced.

  • This paper presents a state space model of a two quadrant chopper and PWM inverter-fed Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) drive system and its application to hybrid vehicles. The drive system has two different state equations for motoring and regenerating action. This paper presents a common state equation by using State Space Averaging method. Using this model of the IPMSM drive system, detailed simulation and controller design of the drive system, including PWM inverter switching, are given. The validity of this model and usefulness, according to a comparison among Maximum Torque/Ampere control, Maximum Torque/Flux control, and Maximum Efficiency optimization, are confirmed from simulation results.
