  • In this study, we developed the gear type vane damper replacing the link type through gear design using Finite Element Analysis(FEA). FEA about the pinion and the vane shaft in the boss of gear type damper for quality improvement was accomplished. We analyzed fluid flow according to angular displacement. Catched the problem of the torque and backlash bring to the pinion as structure improvement of the forced draft fan(FD FAN). Finally, we compared the gear driving result with simulation. It is the objective of the present study to identify a nonlinear flow rate control of gear type vane damper and to suggest a damper shape with a linear flow rate control. This study is related to the development of gear type vane damper change link type in forced draft fan.

  • In this study, we developed a gear-type vane damper which replaces the link type through a proper gear design by means of a finite element analysis. We analyzed the fluid flow according to the amount of angular displacement. torque and backlash problems were addressed in conjunction with the pinion as a structural improvement of the forced draft fan (FD FAN). Through an environmental test. Also, results nearly identical to those in the test could be drawn when using a numerical method. Finally, we compared the gear driving result with simulation results. objective of the present study is to identify a nonlinear flow rate control method for a gear-type vane damper and to propose a damper shape which offers linear flow rate control. This study is related to the development of a gear-type vane damper of the change-link type in a forced draft fan.

도시철도차량의 가변편성을 고려한 고무완충기의 임계속도 평가 (An Evaluation of Critical Speed for Draft Gear using Variable Formation EMU)

  • In this study, we tried to derive the most severe scenario and its critical speed by 1-D collision simulation with a variable formation vehicle in order to prepare for the change of demand in Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 3, which is operated by fixed arrangement. After establishing various collision scenario conditions, the friction coefficient between the wheel and the rail was evaluated as 0.3, which is considered to be severe. As a result of analysis according to all scenarios, the most severe scenario conditions were confirmed by comparing rubber shock absorber performance and vehicle collision deceleration. In addition, a typical wheel-rail friction coefficient was derived through accident cases, and the analysis was performed again and compared. Finally, the criterion of the critical speed in the condition of the friction coefficient of the normal wheel - rail condition was confirmed.

  • Thus, this study aimed to develop a gear-type vane damper in order to replace the link-type vane damper. To achieve this goal, the torque generated in a gear-type vane damper was analyzed, and a structural analysis was conducted. In addition, the fluid flow was analyzed according to the changes in the vane's angle, and experimental tests such as a dry-heat test and cold test were conducted considering the operating conditions of the vessels. Moreover, an appropriate actuator was selected for the developed gear-type vane damper, and studies on the reduction in the backlash due to the facing-pressure adjustment length and flow rate and leakage test due to the vane's angle were conducted.

  • The shock absorbing equipment for railway rolling is one of the most important components. It's effects on the safety of both passengers and vehicle itself and reduce shock, vibration and noise. The shock absorber equipment is mainly consisted of the yoke, plate and rubber draft gear. The objective of the this paper is to evaluation of structure and strength for the yoke in railway vehicles. Structure and strength analysis has been performed by use of finite element method and experimental stress analysis.

  • This study have processed the developing of vane damper with accurate control by using gear which is a flow-control equipment of marine boiler's FD fan on this research. For the developing of vane damper, we have corrected some problem from welding & assembly process by changing the design, and for the case of an emergency case, we have applied the easy disassembly & assembly on that vane damper. Compared to Rink type vane damper in current, we have focused on high efficiency with low price of that new developing damper. For selection of actuator, we have tried to find the propriety with our developing focus. Also, we have developed a jig of assembly processing for high productivity with quality, it caused the best assembly performance with heat-treated & processed parts.

  • In this study, the crash situations and general crash analysis methods of railway rolling stocks were explained. To calculate the applied load and the maximum stress in the carbody when two aluminum railway vehicles were shunted, the finite element models for the carbody and the coupling system were made. The characteristic curve of draft gear which had a function to reduce impact force was modeled by nonlinear bar elements and the carbody was modeled by shell elements. Two shunting speeds, 5km/h and 8km/h, were considered and the results were analyzed and compared with static analysis case. Also, the aluminum railway vehicle with 60km/h was crashed against rigid wall to examine the global behavior of the carbody.

도시철도차량의 연결기 종류별 노후화가 승차감에 미치는 영향 연구 (A Study on Ride Quality Due to Deterioration Effects for the Coupler Types of Urban EMUs)

  • In this study, we studied the ride quality considering the deterioration effects of the three type couplers (single, double, and ring types) for EMUs. In order to know the impact occurred when an urban transit vehicle is under breaking, we tested the conditions of the service brake and the emergency brake. Normal coupler models without any slack showed similar dynamic performance results under all breaking conditions. But if the couplers become old, the initial pre-stresses are removed because of permanent compressive deformation in rubber. For three types of the old coupler models without the initial pre-stress, we evaluated dynamic performances of each type. As the results, the maximum and average acceleration levels of the double type and the ring type were similarly low in all conditions. But the accelerations of the single type coupler was high when compared to those of the double and ring types. In addition, Jerk value of the single type model associated with ride quality was high up to 15 times to the ring type in condition of the service braking in empty vehicle weight. Jerk value of the double type model was high up to 6 times to the ring type.

철도차량 충돌시 선두차량의 타고오름량 예측 연구 (A Study on Prediction of Overriding Behavior Leading Vehicle in Train Collision)

  • 본 연구에서는 철도차량의 대형사고의 주요원인 되는 타고오름 충돌에 대해 이론 모델을 정립하여 선두차량의 타고오름 거동에 대한 이론식을 도출하였다. 이론식을 검증하기 위하여 상용 소프트웨어인 LS-DYNA를 사용하여 이론모델과 동일한 단순 2차원 모델과 실제 동력대차 모델이 적용된 단순 3차원 모델을 만들어 시뮬레이션으로 비교하였다. 타고오름 현상에서 가장 중요한 전두 완충기 수직변위에 대해 시뮬레이션과 이론식을 비교한 결과 최대 편차율은 0.5 [%]과 3.9 [%] 발생하여 이론식이 실제 모델에도 잘 적용될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 고무 완충기와 유압 버퍼 2가지를 적용한 여러 가지 충돌조건에 대해 이론식을 적용하여 선두 차량 간 타고오름 량을 분석하고, 사고 후 재현 시뮬레이션이나 전두부 충돌완충 설계 시 활용할 수 있는 이론적 방법을 제시하였다.
