Properties of Potashborosilicate Glass-ceramic Substrate by adding Al2O3 (Al2O3 첨가에 따른 potashborosilicate glass ceramic 기판의 특성변화에 관한연구)

  • Sintering and dielectric characteristics of substrates were estimated by mixing rate of alumina and potashborosilicate glass(PBSG) powders. PBSG powders were used 7761(corning code)and alumina powders were used in extra pure rate(99.9%) and had 0.1 ${\mu}$m mean size. After ball milling with organic additives green sheets which were casted by doctor blade machine were sintered at 800$^{\circ}C$ for 1∼3hrs. Microstructure, linear shrinkage and dielectric constant of substrates were surveyed in order to fabricate low-dielectric and low tem-perature sintering substrate.

  • We fabricated green sheet by tape casting method with fluormica glass-ceramic powders for fabrication of low temperature co-firing substrate. After ball milling with organic additives, we investigated green strength and density of green sheets which were casted by doctor blade machine. Green sheets were sintered at 700 ~ 1,00$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 ~3hrs. Microstructure, linear shrinkage and dielectric constant of substrates were surveyed.

  • The modified Moonie(Cymbal) transducer has been investigated for an accelerometer application. This paper present a wind-mill type ultrasonic motors using ternary piezoelectric ceramics and aluminum endcaps applied by cymbal transducer. The maximum displacement was increased depend on applied voltage and layer number. The multi-layer was fabricated by tape casting using doctor-blade process. The maximum displacement of multi-layered ultrasonic motor was much higher than that of one-layered.

  • In this study, an attempt was made to demonstrate the possibility of using laser scribing method in manufacturing the barrier ribs of plasma display panel. The scribing with a CO2 laser was conducted on the green tape produced by the doctor blade tape casting method. Among the processing parameters, the quenching gas pressure, shape of mask, and laser power were found to affect the depth and angle of the scibed barrier ribs.

  • In this paper, the anode for molten carbonate fuel cell have been prepared by doctor blade method and microstructure, pore distribution, sintering test of the electrode were investigated. Component analysis were done by Scanning Electron Micrograph, porosimeter and sintering test apparatus. As a result, median pore size was 11.mu.m order at the major specimen and porosity was about 70%. And thickness loss of the electrode was 1.5% at Ni-10Co anode after sintering test.

  • The NASICON solid electrolyte films, $Na_{1+x}Zr_2Si_xP_{3-x}O_{12}$(1.5< x < 2.3), was prepared from ceramic slurry by modified doctor-blade process. The NASICON solid electrolyte and fabricated sensors, Pt-electrode/NASICON/Carbonate$(Na_2CO_3-K_2CO_3CaCO_3\; system)$ electrode, were investigated to measure phase, microstructure and e.m.f variation for sensing $CO_2$ concentration. The uniform grain size of $2-4{\mu}m$ and major phase of sodium zirconium silicon phosphate phase, $Na_{1+x}Zr_2Si_xP_{3-x}O_{12}$was identified with X-ray diffraction patterns and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The Nernst's slope of 84 mV/decade for $CO_2$ concentration from 500 to 8000 ppm was obtained at operating temperature of $400^{\circ}C$.

  • Ba or La-Substituted lead niobate $(Pb_{1-x}Ba_x)_{1-y}La_{2y/3}Nb_2O_6$(PBLN), powders having needle shape are prepared by flux method using KCl and the effect of Ba or La substitution on morphology of obtained powders is examined. From these needle shape powders, grain-oriented ceramics are made by doctor-blade method and two-stage hot-pressing technique. The dielectric, piezoelectric and optical properties of the ceramics are also investigaated. Heating condition and the amount of substituted Ba or La have remarkable effects have large anisotropy in both permittivity and coupling factor depending on the pressing direction.

  • SCLD(supercondocting current 1imiting device) with YBaCuO superconductor was fabricated by the sol-gel and the doctor-blade method. Critical current density ($J_{c}$) and critical current ($I_{c}$) of the SCLD are 100.27 A/$cm^2$and 1A at 77K and the electrodes contact with SCLD by silver paste. The SCL was connected with test circuit in series. When apple iud current exceed critical current value of the SCLD in testing circuit, the SCLD ristricts the over current by generating resistance itself without delay. Resistance of SCLD increase lineary 0 to 1.6$\Omega$ in propotion to applied current above the critical current $I_{c}$.

  • Multi-layered chip inductors were prepared with good magnetic properties by sintering Ni-Zn-Cu ferrites at a lower temperature. A slurry with 49.5mol%Fe$_{2}O_{3}$, 20.5mol% ZnO, 20mol% NiO and 10nol% CuO was cast into tapes with 60-100\ulcorner of thickness with a doctor blade techniques. The tapes were screen-pronted with 100% silver electrodes, layered and pressed at 250kg/cm$^{2}$ and then sintered ant 900$^{\circ}C$ for 2h. Inductance with internal electrodes printed 5, 10, and 15 turns showed 4.9, 15 and 24$\mu$, respectively, at 1MHz.

  • Mechanical properties of hot-pressed SiC whisker/Al2O3 composites were strongly dependent on the granular characteristics of mixed powder, which were controlled by co-dispersion condition, the existence of steric barrier on whisker surface, and granulating method, etc. Heat-treatment of SiC whiskers at $700^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr in air was very effective both for achieving dispersion stability of whiskers with PVA adsorption and for obtaining excellent mechanical properties of resulting composites. It is believed from the fractography of composites prepared with various whisker dispersion conditions that the most common fracture origin of Al2O3 agglomerate could be attributed to whisker clusters arising due to flocculation. Further improvement of mechanical properties of composites were achieved by hot pressing green tapes prepared by Doctor-blade process, which promoted two-dimensional random alignment of whiskers.
