  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to measure the center of mass in body with stroke patients using a tri-axial accelerometer during walking. Methods : Twenty-eight patients were recruited and divided into two groups for this study. To measure their walking ability, Timed Up & Go (TUG) test and Fucntioanl Gait Assessment (FGA) were conducted and acceleration at rotation of center of mass (COM) in body were measure for each group. Results : In the comparisons between the two groups, the TUG and FGA were not significant differences and acceleration at rotation of COM was not significant differences also. Conclusion : Our research results suggesting that the accelerometer may be used as a testing tool and ongoing assessment tool for stroke patients during effects of intervention in walking.

  • This study aims to classify agricultural entrepreneurship preparation patterns for middle-aged adults and to explore their demographic characteristics, occupational characteristics, and agricultural entrepreneurship related variables. The result of the study follows: first, agricultural entrepreneurship preparation patterns were divided into three types of urban-born farming, rural-born farming, retirement farming. Second, these patterns showed significant differences according to the level of demographic and occupational characteristics. Third, these patterns also showed considerable differences depending on the level of agricultural entrepreneurship expectancies, agricultural entrepreneurship volition, and agricultural entrepreneurship barriers. Based on the results, diversified agricultural entrepreneurship education programs and support measures were suggested.

  • Background: An adequate large-scale pediatric cohort based on nationwide administrative data is lacking in Korea. Purpose: This study aimed to differentiate patients with VVS by autonomic dysfunction severity using the composite autonomic severity score (CASS) and compare the clinical manifestations and prognosis between patient subgroups. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 66 VVS patients divided into 3 groups by CASS. To compare the differences between these groups, we analyzed VVS type, triggers, prodromal symptoms, management of syncope, and prognosis between patients with mild versus moderate autonomic dysfunction. Results: Of our 66 patients with VVS, 41 had mild autonomic dysfunction (62.1%) and 25 had moderate autonomic dysfunction (37.9%). We found no significant intergroup differences in age, sex, inducible factor (P=0.172), prodromal symptoms, laboratory findings, head-up tilt test, type of syncope, or prognosis (P=0.154). Conclusion: We found no evidence that autonomic dysfunction degree is affected by VVS characteristics, test findings, parameters, or prognosis; therefore, no further evaluations are needed to classify autonomic dysfunction severity.

  • In this paper we review the observational results on Relic radio sources in clusters of galaxies. We discuss their observational properties, structures and radio spectra. We will show that Relics can be divided according to their size, morphology, and location in the galaxy cluster. These differences could be related to physical properties of Relic sources. The comparison with cluster conditions suggests that Relics could be related to shock waves originated by cluster mergers.

  • We present a new convergence analysis of popular Broyden's method in the Banach/Hilbert space setting which is applicable to non-smooth operators. Moreover, we do not assume a priori solvability of the equation under consideration. Nevertheless, without these simplifying assumptions our convergence theorem implies existence of a solution and superlinear convergence of Broyden's iterations. To demonstrate practical merits of Broyden's method, we use it for numerical solution of three nontrivial infinite-dimensional problems.

  • This paper examines the relationship between IT investment and the improvement of efficiency from the perspective of organizational contingency by the type of organizations and their maturity in IT use in terms of their history of e-commerce use. Organizations are divided into private and public in nature, and into experienced and inexperienced in e-commerce. An analysis was performed on data from 286 organizations in tourism industry. Comparison among the four groups showed differences in competitive and operational efficiency.

  • A refined version of automatic micro-organism recognition and identification method, 'O.I.S.M.2' is proposed in this paper, using image processing based on an expert system. This proposed method is based on the segmentation of the organism image, characterizing segment features, which are independent of individual size and length. Complicated shapes of organisms are divided into basic shape segments defined in this paper such as lines, circles, ovals etc. Organisms can then be expressed simply in a set of segments, regardless their individual differences.

  • A feeding trial with a total of 24 growing pigs of average 33.47kg body weigh was conducted to investigate effects of dietary supplementation with Tetrachlorvinphos on swine growth and fly control. The Experimental animals were divided into two groups of 12 gigs, 3 replicates of 4 animals each. Body weight gains and feed conversion rates were no differences between control and treatment. Maggot and fly populations were significantly reduced (P<0.05), respectively.

  • The purpose of this study was to aid in the evaluation of prognosis of temporomandibular joint following orthognathic surgery. For this study, 20 patients (40 TMJ) who undergone orthognathic surgery were examined. Preoperative and postoperative tomograms of TMJ were taken. And the subjects were divided into 3 groups according to postoperative periods. The obtained results were as follows; 1. There were no significant differences between preoperative and postoperative changes in joint spaces in each group and between groups(P<0.05). 2. There were no significant differences between preoperative and postoperative ratio of joint space(P<0.05). 3. There were no significant differences between preoperative and postoperative changes in the range of motion of condylar head(P<0.05). 4. The bony changes of condylar head were observed in 14(35%) condyles (6 erosion, 2 flattening, 5 double contour, 1 osteophyte).
