New statistical method is proposed to coherently combine Baryon Acoustic Oscillation statistics (BAO) and peculiar velocity measurements exploiting decomposed density--density and velocity--velocity spectra in real space from the observed redshift distortions in redshift space, 1) to achieve stronger dark energy constraints, sigma(w)=0.06 and sigma(w_a)=0.20, which are enhanced from BAO or velocity measurements alone, and 2) to cross--check consistency of dark energy constraints from two different approaches; BAO as geometrical measurements and peculiar velocity as large scale structure formation observables.

In this paper a new steganographic method is presented with minimum distortion. This paper focused on DCT rounding error and optimized that in a very easy way, resulting stego image has less distortion than other existing methods. The proposed method compared with F5 steganography algorithm, and the proposed method achieved better performance. This paper considered the DCT rounding error for lower distortion with possibly higher embedding capacity.

The paper is devoted to problem of spline modeling of multidimensional signals. A new method of nodes location for curves and surfaces computer construction in multidimensional spaces by means of B-splines is presented. The criteria are which links a square-mean error caused by high frequency spline distortions and approximation intervals is determined and necessary theorem is proved. In this method use a theory of entire multidimensional spectra and may be extended for the spaces of three, four and more variables.

This paper proposes a new quantitative and objective image quality metric which is essential to verify the performance of block-based DCT image coding The proposed metric considers not only global distortion of coded image such as spatial frequency sensitivity and channel masking using HVS based multi-channel model, but also structural distortions caused block-based coding. The experimental results show a strong correlation between propose(B metric and subjective metric.

It is a long-standing issue to correctly determine the number of long-run relationships among time series processes. We revisit nonparametric test for cointegration rank and propose bootstrap refinements. Consistent with model-free nature of the tests, we make use of Cholesky factor bootstrap methods, which require weak conditions for data generating processes. Simulation studies show that the original Breitung's test have difficulty in obtaining the correct size due to dependence in cointegrated errors. Our proposed bootstrapped tests considerably mitigate size distortions and represent a complementary approach to other bootstrap refinements, including sieve methods.

Limitations of the simple single degree of freedom vibration isolation theory in real applications are discussed and a theory of multi-dimensional vibration/noise isolation by power approach is introduced. Illustrations of the application to compressor of an air-conditioner are presented together with problems caused by approximations. Then possible sources of distortions in the vibration power estimation are looked into and some relevant research topics are suggested.

In this paper, we study the relations between the Thurston metric and the hyperbolic metric on a closed surface of genus $g{\geq}2$. We show a rigidity result which says if there is an inequality between the marked length spectra of these two metrics, then they are isotopic. We obtain some inequalities on length comparisons between these metrics. Besides, we show certain distance distortions under conformal graftings, with respect to the $Teichm{\ddot{u}}ller$ metric, the length spectrum metric and Thurston's asymmetric metrics.

This paper presents an odd harmonic repetitive controller for single-phase UPS inverters. The proposed repetitive controller achieves the low output voltage THD and reduces the steady-state error by eliminating odd harmonic distortions caused by nonlinear and unbalanced loads. The proposed control scheme is verified through experiment using a 5kW single-phase T-type inverter.

We have re-examined the linear solvation energy relationships in reversed phase liquid chromatography by considering various solutes including quite a number of compounds of strong hydrogen bond capability. We observed that solutes of strong hydrogen bond ability should be excluded in order to obtain resonable correlations between In k' and solute polarity parameters and that inclusion of one or two such solutes causes severe distortions of correlation results. This anomaly may be due to existence of residual silanol groups in the stationary phase, that is, their specific interactions with solutes.

Direct and inverse mathematical operators of stereo transformation (stereo operators) are studied in this paper. The stereo operators install a one-to-one correspondence between three dimensional coordinates of any point in space and the stereo coordinates which can be displayed on the screen under the given conditions, i.e. stereo vision base and the position of viewer. The stereo operators can be applied to the analyses of stereoscopic image distortions when the stereo vision base and the position of viewer are changed.
