  • As a first demonstration of proven stability for a-Si, over 7000h of stability data for a high drive current a-Si AMOLED pixel driver circuit was presented at SID 2004. Also demonstrated was an AMOLED display operating at 6V using the IGNIS 4-T pixel driver circuit [1] and based on a top-emission reverse OLED architecture. In this paper, an update to that information is presented with test data that is representative of lifetime in excess of 25,000 hours taking into account pertinent acceleration factors, extracted from high current drive and high temperature stressing conditions. Lifetimes will continue to increase, given the high and ever-increasing OLED efficiency.

  • Mobile phones use the embedded memory in LDI (LCD Driver IC). In memory accessing mode, data overlapping phenomenon can occur. These days, various contents such as DMB, Camera, Game are merged to phone. Accordingly, with more data transmission, there would be more data overlapping phenomenon in memory accessing mode. Human eyes perceive this data overlapping phenomenon as simply horizontal line noise. The cause of the data overlapping phenomenon was analysed in this paper. The data overlapping phenomenon can be changed by the speed of data transmission between the host and LDI. The optimum memory accessing position can be defined. This paper proposes a new algorithm for avoiding data overlapping.

  • In this paper, a "Vehicle Analysis System(VAS) using cloud and data mining" is proposed that store all the sensor data measured in the vehicle in the cloud, analyze the stored data using the classification model, and provide the analyzed data in real time to the driver's display. The VAS consists of two modules. First, Sensor Data Communication Module(SDCM) stores the sensor data measured in the vehicle in a table of the cloud server and transfers the stored data to the analysis module. Second, Sensor Data Analysis Module(SDAM) analyzes the received data using the genetic algorithm and provides analyzed result to the driver in real time. The VAS stores sensor data collected in the vehicle in the cloud server without accumulating it in the vehicle, and stored data is analyzed in the cloud server, so that the sensor data can be quickly and efficiently managed without overloading the vehicle. In addition, the information desired by the driver can be visualized on the display, thereby increasing the stability of the autonomous vehicle.

  • A 15.4" WXGA TFT-LCD, featuring integrated a-Si:H gate driver circuits and reduced data driver ICs, has been developed. To reduce number of data lines into 1/2 of conventional structure, the pixel array has been re-mapped with re-organized data signal. Unintended artificial effects such as flicker were removed by adopting the novel pixel array having a 'zigzag' map. To minimize the power consumption, a column inversion method was incorporated in the zigzag pixel array (Fig.1) without modifying the polarity map of conventional dot inversion method.

  • OPC is the preferred communication standard for sharing process control data at all levels of the enterprise and becomes the global standard, sends/receives the data with PLC programs of inspection system via network, and manages various data using OPC server. In this paper, we introduce the developed OPC client system for FPD inspection system with OPC server. To control inspection system through OPC server, we have developed libraries which consist of stage driver, switch driver, microscope driver, image processing, alignment, and task management modules. Also we have developed the test program to verify all functions precisely. We describe the mechanism of inspection system, OPC connection method, and programs.

  • A novel current-type data driver for active matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) is proposed for current uniformity enhancement among its output channels. New architecture is composed of shadow DACs that precharge output stages, a single-real DAC that correct the output level to a real target current level and output stages that operate in 3 states of sampling, correcting and driving. Simulation results show that the proposed driving method and circuits improve the current uniformity among output channels of a current-type driver IC.

  • A high data accuracy and low power consumption driving method and output stage of the source driver are proposed for the LTPS TFT-LCD in mobile applications. The proposed driving method is insensitive to the variations of the electrical characteristics of TFTs, which enables the output errors of the source driver are under 1/2 LSB in all gray levels. In addition, the power consumption of the driver with the method is decreased to 9.9mW which is 55.9% of that of the conventional source driver by reducing unnecessary charge waste.

  • This study proposes a controller with the techniqu e of voltage -compensated driver for producing grayscaled pictures on passive matrix organic light emitting diodes (PMOLEDs) panels; especially, the controller overcomes the problem of luminance nonuniformity on displaying pictures. Because the controller is a voltage type driver, the output impedance of the driver is much less than that of the current-type driver. Hence, the controller provides a better electron-optical response than those of traditional current drivers. An area compensated look-up table (ACLUT) is designed in data feeding paths for removing luminance non-uniformity; thus, the proposed controller provides nearly 95% luminance uniformity.

  • In TFT-LCDs, as the display size area becomes larger, and the resolution higher, we have to consider the image degradation effects due to the incorporation of the TFT-LCD parameters such as the data-line resistance, the common electrode resistance, the data-line to common parasitic capacitance, and the output characteristics of driver ICs. One of the degradation effects is crosstalk resulting from the coupling between the source bus-line and common electrode. Since a source signal which represents a large number of display data is supposed to vary frequently, the common signal level is affected through the coupling effect, resulting in the degradation of nearby pixel drive signals. Therefore, we proposed a method to compensate for this source-common electrode coupling effect, we also designed and experimented the feasibility of our crosstalk compensation circuit in the actual TFT-LCD. We saw that the newly designed compensation circuit greatly reduced the crosstalk in display pattern image.

  • Mini-LVDS has been widely used for high speed data transmission because it provides low EMI and high bandwidth for display driver. In this paper, a Mini-LVDS output buffer with LTPS TFT process is presented which provides sufficient performance in the presence of large variation in the threshold voltage and mobility and kink effect.
