Describing Activities to Verify Artifacts(Documents and Program) in Software R&D (소프트웨어 R&D에서 산출물(문서와 프로그램) 검증을 위한 활동)

  • In software R&D artifacts including documents and program code are produced. There are two kinds of software R&D artifacts: Research artifacts and development artifacts. Research artifacts include software R&D planning document, annual report, final report, research note and so on. Software development artifacts include software requirements, software design description, testing plan, test report, and program code. It is important to verify the documents and to test code to check the direction of the R&D. Moreover, we should check relationships as such completeness and consistency between research and development artifacts. The verification and testing help project manager and researchers understand what they do during software projects. Therefore, in this study, we present a process to verify documents and program in software R & D. In the process we check documents produced in software R&D and test program code. We describe the process by using Essence elements including alpha, activity, and competency. We present a case study to show the effectiveness of the process.

Dual Dictionary Learning for Cell Segmentation in Bright-field Microscopy Images (명시야 현미경 영상에서의 세포 분할을 위한 이중 사전 학습 기법)

  • Cell segmentation is an important but time-consuming and laborious task in biological image analysis. An automated, robust, and fast method is required to overcome such burdensome processes. These needs are, however, challenging due to various cell shapes, intensity, and incomplete boundaries. A precise cell segmentation will allow to making a pathological diagnosis of tissue samples. A vast body of literature exists on cell segmentation in microscopy images [1]. The majority of existing work is based on input images and predefined feature models only - for example, using a deformable model to extract edge boundaries in the image. Only a handful of recent methods employ data-driven approaches, such as supervised learning. In this paper, we propose a novel data-driven cell segmentation algorithm for bright-field microscopy images. The proposed method minimizes an energy formula defined by two dictionaries - one is for input images and the other is for their manual segmentation results - and a common sparse code, which aims to find the pixel-level classification by deploying the learned dictionaries on new images. In contrast to deformable models, we do not need to know a prior knowledge of objects. We also employed convolutional sparse coding and Alternating Direction of Multiplier Method (ADMM) for fast dictionary learning and energy minimization. Unlike an existing method [1], our method trains both dictionaries concurrently, and is implemented using the GPU device for faster performance.

Optimi Design for R.C. Beam with Discrete Variables (이산형 설계변수를 갖는 철그콘크리트보의 최적설계)

  • The objective of this paper is to look into the possibility of the detailed and practical optimum design of rt:inforced concrete beam using methods oi discrete mathematical programming. In this discrete optimum formulation, the design variables are the overall depth, width and effective depth of members, and area of longitudinal reinforcement. In addition, the details such as the amount of web reinforcement and cutoff points of longitudinal reinforcement are also considered as variables. Total cost has been used as the objective function. The constraints include the code requirments such as flexural strength, shear strength, ductility, serviceability, concrete cover. spacing, web reinforcement, and development length and cutoff points of longitudinal renforcement. An optimization algorithm is presented for effective optimum design of R.C. beam with discrete de sign variables. First, the continuous variable optimization can be achieved by Feasible Direction Method. Using the results obtained from the continuous variable optimization, a branch and bound method is used to obtained the discrete design values. The proposed algorithm is applied to test problem for reliability, and the results are compared with those of graphical method and rounded-up method. And a simply supported R.C. beam and a two-span continuous R.C. beam are presented as numerical examples for effectiveness and applicability. It is considered that the presented algorithm can be effectively applied to the discrete optimum design of R.C. beams.

AEP Prediction of a Wind Farm in Complex Terrain - WindPRO Vs. WindSim (복잡지형에 위치한 풍력발전단지의 연간발전량 예측 비교 연구)

  • The annual energy production of Gangwon wind farm was predicted for three consecutive years of 2007, 2008 and 2009 using commercial programs, WindPRO and WindSim which are known to be used the most for wind resource prediction in the world. The predictions from the linear code, WindPRO, were compared with both the actual energy prediction presented in the CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) monitoring report of the wind farm and also the predictions from the CFD code, WindSim. The results from WindPRO were close to the actual energy productions and the errors were within 11.8% unlike the expectation. The reason for the low prediction errors was found to be due to the fact that although the wind farm is located in highly complex terrain, the terrain steepness was smaller than a critical angle($21.8^{\circ}$) in front of the wind farm in the main wind direction. Therefore no flow separation was found to occur within the wind farm. The flow separation of the main wind was found to occur mostly behind the wind farm.

  • 지구의 온난화로 인한 기상변화 등이 계속적으로 발생하는 가운데 전 세계는 지구 온난화의 가장 근본적인 원인인 이산화탄소의 방출을 줄이기 위한 방안을 찾기 위해 많은 노력을 하고 있다. 이에 대해 전 세계적으로 각종의 기후협약 체결, 리우선언, 도쿄의정서 등을 통해 온실가스 배출원인인 석유 등 화석에너지 배출을 억제하기 위한 활동이 행해지고 있으며, 기존의 화석연료를 대체할 수 있는 새로운 에너지를 발견하기 위한 연구개발에도 박차를 가하고 있다. 이러한 계속적인 연구개발에서, 세계의 국가들은 친환경 에너지인 태양열, 풍력, 지열 및 수소에너지와 같이 화석연료를 대체할 수 있는 다양한 에너지를 조사하고 개발해왔고 현재도 가장 적합한 에너지 자원을 찾기 위하여 노력 중에 있다. 최근에, 수많은 대체에너지 중 수소 에너지는 유해배출가스가 없기 때문에 가장 유망한 대안이라고 판단되어 전 세계가 수소에너지 연구개발에 주목하고 있다. 이러한 수소에너지를 교통수단에 적용하기 위하여 전 세계적으로 안전성 및 기술 확보를 위한 기술개발과 안전기준의 확립하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 현재 기술적으로 수소를 자동차용 연료로 사용하기 위해서는 수소를 액체 상태 및 압축 상태로 저장하는 것이다. 두 가지 저장방법 중 세계 대부분의 자동차 메이커들은 수소를 압축하는 방식을 채택하고 있으며, 자동차의 주행거리를 최대한 확보하기 위하여 수소가스를 고압으로 압축한 상태로 저장하는 방식을 사용하고 있다. 이에 따라 고압의 수소를 안전하게 저장할 수 있는 고압수소용기의 개발이 필요하다. 수소연료전지 자동차에 장착이 가능한 고압으로 압축된 수소를 저장할 수 있고, 자동차에 탑재할 수 있도록 적합한 크기의 가벼운 용기의 개발이 진행되어지고 있다. 자동차용 용기는 크게 4가지 타입으로 구분지어 진다. 현재는 4가지 타입의 압축용기 중 안전성과 중량을 만족시키기 위해 Type3와 Type4 형태의 용기가 수소자동차에 시범적으로 적용되어 운용되고 있다. 또한 고압수소용기의 신뢰성과 안전성을 확보하기 위한 기준 및 코드가 국 내외에서 연구 개발되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 수소연료전지자동차에 장착되는 고압수소용기의 국제기준 동향에 따른 국내의 차량용 고압수소용기를 위한 KGS 안전기준의 개발현황과 개발방향을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on Video Copy Detection Methods Using Representative Color Sequence for Protecting Copyrights (저작권 보호를 위한 대표 색상 시퀀스를 이용한 동영상 복사 검출 방법)

  • This study deals with the technical approach related to the protection of digital video contents copyright, which has currently become a major issue in the digital contents market. With the production and distribution of digital video contents rapidly increasing, various policies and technical approaches are being made in relation to the protection of intellectual property rights. The technical approach from a DRM (Digital Rights Management) perspective was made from various angles, but its limitations have also been exposed in terms of convenience and quality. In this study, rather than the existing encoding certification and watermark technologies, it introduces technical approaches from a content-based copy detection method, while suggesting a copy detection method using the representative color sequence. In particular, this study takes into consideration the distribution environment of the domestic video market and deals with the technical approach in a direction that can control the illegal distribution of high quality videos.

The Future Direction of Information Education in University according to Computerization (컴퓨터화에 따른 대학 정보화 교육의 방향)

  • Today the computerization in overall civil life is globally progressing, and software plays a central role in all interdisciplinary areas of society. These changes of information environments lead to the change of values and paradigm shift, and the change of Korean educational policies is also happening. As human-machine interaction is becoming ubiquitous, code literacy is going to play an important role before long. Despite these transitions, information education in universities in Korea focuses on just driving application programs. In this paper, we explore overall educational system and curriculum of universities in Korea. And we present educational factors corresponding to educational levels and contents. Presented five factors coupling three educational contents and three educational levels may be dedicated to design curriculum.

MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF INNER MAGNETOSPHERE DURING GEOMAGNETIC STORMS INFERRED FROM A TSYGANENKO MAGNETIC FIELD MODEL

  • In this paper we report some properties of inner magnetospheric structure inferred from the T01_s code, one of the latest magnetospheric models by Tsyganenko. We have constructed three average storms representing moderate, strong, and severe intensity storms using 95 actual storms. The three storms are then modelled by the T01_s code to examine differences in magnetic structure among them. We find that the magnetic structure of intense storms is strikingly different from the normal structure. First, when the storm intensity is large, the field lines anchored at dayside longitudinal sectors become warped tailward to align to the solar wind direction. This is particularly so for the field lines anchored at the longitudinal sectors from postnoon through dusk. Also while for the moderate storm the equatorial magnetic field near geosynchronous altitude is found to be weakest near midnight sector, this depression region expands into even late afternoon sector during the severe storm. Accordingly the field line curvature radius at the equator in the premidnight geosynchronous region becomes unusually small, reaching down to a value less than 500 km. We attribute this strong depression and the dawn-dusk asymmetry to the combined effect from the enhanced tail current and the westward expansion/rotation of the partial ring current.

Design of the Finite Schematic Eye with GRIN Crystalline Lens Considering Iris Eccentricity (홍채 편심을 고려한 GRIN 수정체를 갖는 정밀모형안 설계)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to design the finite model eye with GRIN lens similar to actual eye, which considered the effect of iris eccentricity on eyes. Methods: By using the finite model eye with Radial GRIN and Spherical GRIN, which were designed previously, the location of iris was eccentrically located by 0.5 mm in the direction of nose to show the same eye as actual one. For ray trace and design, Code V program of Optical Research Associates (ORA) was adopted. Results: Designed model eye was compared to actual eye depending on iris eccentricity and the model eye which showed reduced value was corrected according to actual eye to design the finite model eye. Conclusions: Ocular optical systems considered the point that iris was a rotational asymmetry and designed the finite model eye with GRIN lens, which was similar to actual eye, by considering the effect of iris eccentricity on eye.

A Case Study on Design of Theme-based Integrated Learning by Using QR Code (QR코드를 활용한 주제중심 통합학습 설계 사례연구)

  • This research aims at suggesting a case of designing theme-based integrated learning for usage smart media. New approach and direction for developing a gaming instructional design was suggested which can encourage learners to participate in. Quest-based learning, the learning environment design where learners conduct various learner-centered activities, plays an important role of reinforcing the motivation, promoting experiential and cooperative learning based on social interaction. The design using QR codes has been proved to be able to offer the learner-centered learning environment which includes social interaction strategy required for learners expanding their cognitive structure, motivation enhancing strategy encouraging their consistent participation in learning, complex problematic situation and scaffolding strategy emphasized by constructivism. And it is expected to contribute to promoting the design of theme-based integrated learning which is being demanded in the educational environment recently by combining systematic design process and strategies.
