In This paper, we have analyzed the power spectrum of DS-TH Ulhawideband (Direct Sequence-Time Hopping UWB) system which used pseudo-noise (PN) code. The DS-TH UWB system proposed in this paper multiplies the information signal with PN code to construct pulse train with random pattern and then the chips in pulse train are bundled into several groups to map to the particular value. The (+)/(-) pulse is tented in the time slot of frame by comparing a particular value with timing information that was stored in the lookup table. Thus, the energy spark (Comb Line) which is generated certainly in convantional system can be suppressed efficiently by PN code. And we knew that the proposed DS-TH UWB System even could have very smoothing power spectrum ctaracteristic without applying high speed Time-Hopping code.
In this paper we discuss narrow-band interference rejection schemes for spectrum overlay communications where direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) communication system and narrow-band communication systems share the same frequency band. In this case, it is essential to reject the narrow-band signals to guarantee the performance of DS/SS system, while it is not necessarily required to reject the DS/SS signal to recover the narrow-band signal. We discuss several schemes such as time domain processing, frequency domain processing and exploiting the device characteristics to reduce the effect of narrow-band signal on DS/SS communication systems. Furthermore, we suggest a structure of tunable notch filter using gyrator that can easily be customized to ASIC.

The result of recent seismic hazard analysis indicates that the ground motion response spectra for Korean nuclear power plant site have relatively large frequency acceleration contents. In the ordinary seismic fragility analysis of nuclear power plant structures and equipments, the safety margin of design ground response spectrum is directly used as a response spectrum shape factor. The effects of input response spectrum shape on the floor response spectrum were investigated by performing the direct generation of floor response spectrum from the ground response spectrum. The safety margin included in the design ground response spectrum should be considered as a floor response spectrum shape factor for the seismic fragility analysis of the equipments located in a building.
In the pulsed electron beam generators, such as plasma focus devices and linear induction accelerators whose electron pulse width is in the range of nanosecond and less, as well as in cases where there is no direct access to electron beam, like runaway electrons in Tokamaks, measurement of the electron energy spectrum is a technical challenge. In such cases, the indirect measurement of the electron spectrum by using the bremsstrahlung radiation spectrum associated with it, is an appropriate solution. The problem with this method is that the matrix equation between the two spectrums is an ill-conditioned equation, which results in errors of the measured X-ray spectrum to be propagated with a large coefficient in the estimated electron spectrum. In this study, a method based on the neural network and the MCNP code is presented and evaluated to recover the electron spectrum from the X-ray generated by collision of the electron beam with a target. Multilayer perceptron network showed good accuracy in electron spectrum recovery, so that for the X-ray spectrum with errors of 3% and 10%, the network estimated the electron spectrum with an average standard error of 8% and 11%, on all of the energy intervals.
This paper presented an efficient transceiver structure of multiband Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) signals with direct sequence spread spectrum for maintaining covertness and performance. In aspect to covertness, direct sequence spread spectrum method, which multiplying by Pseudo Noise (PN) codes whose rate is much higher than that of data sequence, is employed. In aspect to performance, in order to overcome performance degradation caused by multipath and Doppler spreading, we applied multiband, turbo equalization, and weighting algorithm are applied. Based on the simulation results, by applying 4 number of multiband and number of chips are 8 and 32, experiments were conducted in a lake with a distance of moving from 300 m to 500 m between the transceivers. we confirmed that the performance was improved as the number of bands and chips are increased. Furthermore, the performance of multiband was improved when the proposed weighting algorithm was applied.
Background : The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the direct and indirect composite restorations which had been placed for 1 year Methods : The composite restorations which had been placed between 1999. Mar and 1999, Dec was evaluated after 1 year For direct restorations. Spectrum (Dentsply, USA) and Z100 (3M, USA) were used in the anterior teeth and Surefil (Dentsply, USA) were used. For class V restorations of anterior and posterior teeth. Spectrum was used. For indirect restorations, Targis/Vectris system (Vivadent/Ivoclar, Liechtenstein) was used 2 examiners evaluated marginal quality, proximal contact. discoloration, presence of 2$^{nd}$ caries, loss of filling and hypersensitivity of restorations. The restorations was clinically evaluated by modified methods based on USPHS. Results : 60 teeth were evaluated. 59 were clinically acceptable and 1 restoration which was placed in class v cavity in the posterior tooth was fallen out. In most cases, the restorations were clinically accept-able. For restorations which had been directly placed in the class II cavities, loose proximal contact was indicated as the main complaints. Conclusions : Most of Anterior and posterior restorations which bad been directly or indirectly placed for 1 year were clinically acceptable. For posterior teeth, loose proximal contact was indicated as the main problem in the directly placed Class II restorations. Long term clinical study is needed.
Seismic qualification by test is widely used as a way to show the integrity and functionality of equipment that is related to the overall safety of nuclear power plants. Another means of seismic qualification is by direct integration analysis. Both approaches require a series of time histories as an input. However, in most cases, the possibility of using real earthquake data is limited. Thus, artificial time histories are widely used instead. In many cases, however, response spectra are given. Thus, most of the artificial time histories are generated from the given response spectra. Obtaining the response spectrum from a given time history is straightforward. However, the procedure for generating artificial time histories from a given response spectrum is difficult and complex to understand. Thus, this paper presents a simple time-domain method for generating a time history from a given response spectrum; the method was shown to satisfy conditions derived from nuclear regulatory guidance.

The response displacement method is the most frequently used method for seismic design of buried structures. This method is pseudo-static method, and the evaluations of velocity response spectrum of seismic base and response displacement of surrounding soil are the most important steps. In this study, the evaluation of velocity response spectrum of seismic base according to the Korean seismic design guide and the simple method of calculating the response displacement were studied. It was found that velocity response spectrum of seismic base can be estimated by direct integrating the ground-surface acceleration response spectrum of soil type $S_{A}$, and the evaluation of the response displacement using double cosine method assuming two layers of soil profile shows the advantages in the seismic design.n.
Purpose: The Purpose of this study is to compare the fracture strength of 4 kinds of direct composite resins. Methods: his study performed experiments on the fracture strength of direct composite resins after polymerizing 4 kinds of direct composite resins on the MOD cavity standard specimens. Results: The fracture strength of Aelite(Bisco) was the highest at 176.26N(p<0.05). According to post-hoc study with Turkey honest significant difference by multiple comparison on fracture strength test results, there were statistically significant differences between all kinds of direct composite resin. But the statistical difference between Z350(3M) and Spectrum(DP) was not significant. Conclusion: Aelite(Bisco) scored the highest concerning the fracture strength.

This paper covers the detection of covert direct sequence spread spectrum signal without the PN(Pseudo Noise) code information. Due to its low probability of interception, the difficulty of spectrum surveillance increases. Detection parameters are the signal existence of given bandwidth, the length of spreading sequence used by transmitter, and the identification of spreading code for detected chip length. The triple correlation function(TCF) value which is one of the higher order statistical signal processing techniques can be used to detect spread spectrum signal without a prior knowledge, but, it has weakness that TCF results depend on the spread data sequence in actual application. This paper proposes the new scheme that not only overcomes the weakness but also presents better performance than the traditional TCF scheme. The performance comparison of conventional TCF with proposed technique shows that the triple correlation estimator(TCE) has better detection capability.
