  • Some nonpath-connected orthomodular lattices are given : Every infinite direct product of othomodular lattices containing infinitely many non-Boolean factors is a nonpath-connected orthomodular lattice. The orthomodular lattice of all closed subspaces of an infinite dimensional Hilbert space is a nonpath-connected orthomodular lattice.

  • Wavelets constitute a new orthogonal system which has direct application in density estimation. We introduce a brief wavelet density estimation and summarize some asymptotic results. An application to mixture normal distributions is implemented with S-Plus.

  • Wireless bio-signal sensing system, which is based on the principle of Doppler radar, can measure a respiration and heart rates with a periodic movement of skin and muscle near the heart. Though the sensing monostatic system using a circulator has been studied, this bistatic system can be improved by using a circular polarized antenna which has a high isolation between transmitter and receiver. In this paper, we measured the bio-signal without the direct contact with the person. The design of each system and experimental results are discussed.

  • In this paper, we review the four receiver architectures and four methods for multi-standard receiver design. Propose reconfigurable RF block can be used for both low-IF and direct conversion architecture. Also, using reconfigurable mixer method, it can be operated at $2{\sim}6$ GHz range for multi-standard receiver. It consists of wideband mixer, filter, and automatic gain control amplifier and to get wide-band operation, $2{\sim}6$ GHz, wide-band mixer use flexible input matching method. Besides, to design multi-standard receiver, LNA bank that support each standard is necessary and it has good performance to compensate the performance of wide-band mixer. Finally, we design and simulate proposed reconfigurable RF block and to prove that it has acceptable performances for various wireless standards, the LNA bank that supports both IEEE 802.11a/b/g and WCDMA is also designed and simulated with it.

  • Optical Border Gateway Protocol (OBGP) is an extension to BGP for Optical Cross Connects (OXCs) to automatically setup multiple direct optical lightpaths between many different autonomous domains. With OBGP, the routing component of a network may be distributed to the edge of the network while the packet classification and forwarding is done in the core. However, it is necessary to analyze the stable convergence functions of OBGP in case of lightpath failures. In this paper, we first describe the architecture of the OBGP model and analyze the potential problems of OBGP, e.g., virtual BGP router convergence behavior in the presence of lightpath failure. We then propose an OBGP convergence model derived from an inter-AS (Autonomous System) relationship. The evaluation results show that the proposed model can be used for a stable OBGP routing policy and OBGP routing convergence under lightpath failures of the optical Internet.

  • In this paper, we compare the bit-error-rate performance of the fast-frequency-hopped spread-spectrum multiple-access (FFH/SSMA) and direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems in a Rician fading channel. Each system has a same data rate, bandwidth and transmits over a Rician fading channel. The results illustrate tradoffs in performance between the FFH/SSMA and DS/CDMA systems as a function of the parameters such as average signal to noise ratio and processing gain. The performance of the FFH/SSMA system is shown to be less sensitive to the change of fading environments, while the change of processing gain and average signal to noise ratio gives considerable affect to the FFH/SSMA system compared with the DS/CDMA system. Without respect to the change of system parameters, for most of Rician fading channels (except non-fading channel), FFH/SSMA system gives better performance than DS/CDMA system in BBR < 10$\^$-3/.

  • An accurate approximation based on the integration of the characteristic function of the multiple access interference which consists of specular and scatter components is obtained for the average probability of error for asynchronous binary PSK direct sequence spread spectrum multiple access(DS/SSMA) communications system operating over nonselective fading channels with additive white Gaussian and impulsive noise channels.
