A Case Study on Digital Signage in Korea -Intellian Systems- (한국의 디지털 사이니지 일등기업 성공 사례연구 -인텔리안 시스템즈-)

  • Despite the rapid growth of digital signage market with diffusion of digital media, there has been little case study in digital signage research area. More specifically, this case study of Intellian Systems, one of the leading digital signage companies, reveals how it made the successful growth by developing signage technology and its service in such a market. This study also describes how Intellian Systems strengthen and extend their digital signage business. By introducing Intellian Systems and its technology with service, this study provides some practical implications for firms which are relevant to using digital signage in Korea. In particular, we found that IT manpower who has specialized knowledge, excellent components of technologies and IT solutions as well as strategic alliance with a variety of partners as critical success factors in order to gain competitive advantages in digital signage industry.

  • This study aimed to analyze the quality concepts and requirements of digital records as evidence and to find an implication to develop requirements for trusted digital records with securing authoritative qualities. To this end, this study compared requirements of records domain linking records process, records metadata and records systems with judicial domain on digital evidence, and identified the records requirements to secure the legal admissibility linking records and judicial domain. This study analyzed the relationship of quality concepts between digital records and digital evidence, found the legal admissibility is highly related to the reliability, and derived that it needs the measure to secure the reliability at the stage of records creation and capture. To prove authenticity of digital evidence, this study identified importance of records process, records metadata and records system, and proposed the necessity of measurement to secure records' evidence.

A Study on the OAI based Open Digital Library (OAI 기반 Open Digital Library 연구)

  • Digital library technology is facing issues such as interoperability, content extension, and the need for a more efficient management environment. A system that is based on standardization and interoperability is required to resolve these issues. Open Digital Library is the system for the next generation that resolves the above problems. We have conducted some research on issues such as OAI and OAI-PMH, which are the basic knowledge behind the Open Digital Library technology and also investigated the Open Digital Library framework, cases of study and implementation of this technology. Finally, we have made some suggestions on the extendability of Open Digital Library technology using the standardized technologies.

A Study on the Brand Extension of Digital Product : Focused on Consumer's Attachment to Product (디지털 제품의 브랜드 확장에 관한 연구 : 소비자의 제품 애착을 중심으로)

  • With science and technology getting more and more advanced, the scope of digital product is expanding and the new products continuously are introduced on the market. On the basis of consumers' attachment to products, we investigated the consumers' behaviors towards the product when a digital product is extended. As a result of an empirical analysis, it turned out that a consumer tended to have higher trust and a positive emotion about relevant goods if he or she had a strong attachment to digital products. However, even though one had a strong attachment to digital products, the emotion about the corresponding brands did not necessarily appeared to be positive. In the event that a brand of digital products was extended to other new products, only the trust in the brand exerted significant influence on the consumers' behaviors towards the extended products. Finally, this study suggests some theoretical and managerial implications for effective strategies in response to customers' attachment to digital product.

  • Recently, because of the rapid remarkable development of the digital media, contemporary society is continuously extending and changing over the limitation of the human recognition. But in the field of architectural form creation, a diagram used in the design process of the past is not enough to reflect a complication, contingent and multiple quality of these contemporary society. So, to reveal the rhizomorphous and non-hierarchial qualify of the contemporary digital network society, architecture became necessary to use the diagram with digital media which have various possibilities to present architect's abstract images that the diagram of the past couldn't do. Therefore, this study proposes that the process for creating architectural form with the digital diagram be a alternative to conquest the limits of contemporary architecture, so it present the complicate and contingent quality of contemporary society. Furthermore, it examines the quality and possibility of the diagram by understanding the creation and transformation of the digital diagram, and how to apply to the actual architecture process of the creating form.

  • In modern business conditions, the improvement of business processes cannot do without digitalization. Digital technologies allow businesses to conquer markets, quickly introduce new technologies not only into production processes, but also at all levels of economic activity. The rapid pace of development of information, communication and economic spheres determine the relevance of the research topic and the goals that digital management solves. Today, the use of digital equipment and platforms makes it possible to form the basis for the formation of competitive business advantages, minimize costs, and most importantly, respond in time to changes in both the internal and external environment..Thus, the main task of the study is to analyze the digital management system in a business environment. As a result of the study, current trends and prerequisites for digital management system in a business environment were investigated.

  • Image has more power in the 21st century than ever before. With the advance in technology and media, image is either made or received more easily and promptly using digital technology. Because of that, it has been hard for digital images to gain value as a work of art. But after NFT technology was developed and then applied to digital images, we have come to distinguish the original from the copy of it. People are trying various ways to allow digital images to be acknowledged as art, and changing the nature of digital images that makes new paradigms in the history of art. Through NFT artworks rising as a new style, this paper analyzed and investigated the new properties and changing characteristics of digital images in order to anticipate the characteristics of artworks that the public produces, enjoys, and consumes. This study is grounded on experimental analysis methods, and this author expects that it can contribute to figuring out which kinds of visual culture and artworks digital image is influencing currently from various perspectives.

Study on the Interoperability of Digital Twin Systems

  • The world is paying a lot of attention to digital twins to preoccupy future technological competitiveness. Digital twins can be used in various fields such as manufacturing, medical care, and cities. Various market research institutes predict that the market size of digital twins will gradually expand. Korea has also selected digital twin as one of the representative tasks of the Korean version of the New Deal and is promoting related policies. However, a common platform or standard for building digital twins is not enough. Interoperability is a very important characteristic for the purpose of creating new value through interconnection between digital twins rather than independently developing and utilizing digital twins. The Digital Twin Consortium is an international council for the effective development and utilization of digital twins, and is working to solve the problem of digital twin interoperability. The Digital Twin Consortium recently published the 'Digital Twin System Interoperability Framework', and this paper analyzes the digital twin interoperability based on it.

  • With the development of digital technology, clothes of unique textiles using the digital printing techniques have appeared as a creative trend in textile design. The development of digital textile printing technology has allowed the fashion industry to utilize it as an expressive method of a surrealist trend in current fashion designs, and so it is necessary to understand and study this phenomenon. The present study is an attempt to understand this modern fashion phenomena from an artistic perspective by looking at textile designs that applied actual images to textiles, so that this trend in fashion design can be better understood. In this context, this study aims to examine characteristics and expressive techniques of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme associated with digital textile printing by using actual images among surrealist expressions, and to investigate creative expressions of textile design freely expressing the visual boundary between reality and surrealism with the development of digital technology. For research methods, we reviewed technical texts and previous studies related to our research topic for theoretical exploration and investigated the Internet data and used them for basic data. In the case study, we came up with the characteristics and meanings by classifying fashion design cases using digital textile printing techniques according to expressive techniques of surrealist d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme. Details of this study are as follows: First, it investigates the definition and expressive characteristics of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme of the surrealist expression for its theoretical understanding. Second, it comes up with the characteristics by analyzing the digital textile cases from the perspective of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme. Third, it deduces the expressive methods and characteristics of digital textile printing from a the perspective of surrealist d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme based on the resulting characteristics. The conclusions show that d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme, which consists of improvisation and coincidence, maximized the mysterious images of derealisation and mysterious primitive images. These things emphasized the characteristics of maximization of images, derealisation, and rationalization of irrationalism.

The Impact of Digital Leadership, Dynamic Digital Capabilities and Organization Acceptance Intention on Business Digital Transformation (디지털 리더십과 동적 디지털 역량, 조직의 수용의도가 디지털 전환 수준에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate various factors affecting the relationship between digital leadership and digital transformation in companies. In particular, focusing on the mediating effect of dynamic digital capabilities that quickly sensing and seizing advanced and convergent digital technologies and apply them to the organization, this study also intends to examine the moderating effect of the organization's acceptance intention. The hypotheses were verified with a sample of 258 copies of data collected by conducting a survey on companies participating in mini-clusters in industrial complexes nationwide. As a result of the study, dynamic digital capabilities showed a significant mediating effect in the relationship between digital leadership and digital transformation, and the effect of dynamic digital capabilities on the level of digital transformation differed according to the organization's digital acceptance intention. This study presented a new concept and measurement items of digital dynamic capabilities, and how to consider digital leadership, dynamic digital capabilities and acceptance level of organization when promoting digital transformation in companies.
