On the reflected signal processing of Digital Sonar using the AMDF (AMDF를 이용한 Digital Sonar 의 반사신호처리에 관한 연구)

  • Because of layer and scattering in the ocean, there are some problem in algorithm currently used for the recognition of targets. Those are time delay of processing and circuit design. The simple method of detecting direct sound wave in noise caused by time delay is proposed-recognized, estimated, and then direcxt sound wave is reconstructed by the AMDF and $\mu$-processor. 2KHz, 4KHz, 8KHz, 12KHz, 16KHz sound waves are used in experiment. To obtain a reference signal, anechoic water tank is used is processing and aluminium water tank used instead of real ocean. As a result, there are a few errors which caused by anechoic water tank error, decreasing of frequency make errors. Possibility of application to Sonar Signal Processing is proved.

Regression Algorithms Evaluation for Analysis of Crosstalk in High-Speed Digital System

  • As technology advances, processor speeds are increasing at a rapid pace and digital systems require a significant amount of data bandwidth. As a result, careful consideration of signal integrity is required to ensure reliable and high-speed data processing. Crosstalk has become a vital area of research in signal integrity for electronic packages, mainly because of the high level of integration. Analytic formulas were analyzed in this study to identify the features that can predict crosstalk in multi-conductor transmission lines. Through the analysis, five variables were found and obtained a dataset consisting of 302,500, data points. The study evaluated the performance of various regression models for optimization via automatic machine learning by comparing the machine learning predictions with the analytic solution. Extra tree regression consistently outperformed other algorithms, with coefficients of determination exceeding 0.9 and root mean square logarithmic errors below 0.35. The study also notes that different algorithms produced varied predictions for the two metrics.

  • This paper discusses the implementation of Bruun's FFT on a SIMD processor. FFT is an algorithm used in digital signal processing area and its effective processing is important in the enhancement of signal processing performance. Bruun's FFT algorithm is one of fast Fourier transform algorithms based on recursive factorization. Compared to popular Cooley-Tukey algorithm, it is advantageous in computations because most of its operations are based on real number multiplications instead of complex ones. However it shows more complicated data alignment patterns and requires a larger memory for storing coefficient data in its implementation on a SIMD processor. According to our experiment result, in the processing of the FFT with 1024 complex input data on a SIMD processor, The Bruun's algorithm shows approximately 1.2 times higher throughput but uses approximately 4 times more memory (20 Kbyte) than the Cooley-Tukey algorithm. Therefore, in the case with loose constraints on silicon area, the Bruun's algorithm is proper for the processing of FFT on a SIMD processor.

  • This paper implements 2X2 MIMO Long Term Evolution (LTE) base station using Software defined radio (SDR) technology. The implemented base station system processes baseband signals on a Graphics Processor Unit(GPU). GPU is a high-speed parallel processor which provides very important advantage of using a very powerful C-based programming environment that is Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA). The implemented software-based base station system processes baseband signals through GPU. It utilizes USRP2 as its RF transceiver. In order to guarantee a real-time processing of LTE baseband signals, we have adopted well-known signal processing algorithms such as frame synchronization algorithms, ML detection, etc. using GPU operating in parallel processing.

  • The ECG-NIBP patient monitor consist of Noninvasive Blood Pressure(NIBP) module that have micro controller inside. This module transfer data by serial communication to the main processor. This system apply the fuzzy inflating method to reduce the blood pressure measuring time, and moving artifact removing algorithm, several parameters used or more accurate measurement. The ECG monitor use the Digital Signal Processor(DSP) or digital filtering, peak detection, heart rate calculation. This system also offer convenient user interface by rotary key, menu bar. With 7" CRT display, auxiliary TFT LCD display adapted to display information on wide screen.

  • The paper presents a cost effective and increased performance position servo system using the TMS320F240 digital signal processor (DSP) produced by Texas Instruments as microprocessor and Brushless Direct Current Motor (BLDCM) as executor. In order to make up for the drawback of conventional PID controls, the fuzzy PID is employed. The result of simulations and experiments has confirmed that the whole system is simple and reliable; the robustness of system is improved by using fuzzy PID.

  • In this paper, we describe an effective trunk loop signal processing method and anlayze execution time of the program in the DTCP (Digital Trunk Circuit Processor) in the TDX-1A digital switching stytem. And we also predict a maximum trunk capacity in the DTCP with respect to scanning period based on the call attempt characteristics which has the Poisson distribution.

  • To achieve fast control action, direct control methods should be used. "Direct Mean Torque Control" (DMTC) combines the good dynamic performance of Direct Torque Control (DTC) with the advantages of inherently constant switching frequency and time equidistant control for implementation in a digital signal processor. Since DMTC is a predictive control algorithm, the model and its correction deserves special investigations.   • This paper presents a servo control scheme for the surface-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor(SPMSM) which essentially uses vector control algorithm. The control system is composed of the PI controller for speed control and the current controller using space voltage vector PWM technique. The high-speed calculation and processing for vector control is carried out by TMS320C31 digital signal processor and IGBT module. The proposed scheme is verified through digital simulations and experiments for 2.2kW SPMSM and shows good dynamic performance.

  • In nuclear power plants, workers are reluctant of works in steam generator because of the high radiation environment and limited working space. It is strongly recommended that the examination and maintenance works be done by an automatic system for the protection of the operator from the radiation exposure. In this paper, it is proposed a new approach to the development of the automatic vision system to examine and repair the steam generator tubes at remote distance. Digital signal processors are used in implementing real time recognition and examination of steam generator holes in the proposed vision system. Performance of proposed digital vision system is illustrated by experiment for similar steam generator model.
