  • This paper is described a digital implementation of a pulse area modulation (PAM) method for a unity-power-factor buck-boost converter. A digital controller is designed and implemented by a Digital Signal Processor(DSP) to replace the analog control circuit for PAM. Experimental results are presented and compared with simulations.

  • This paper represents a digital parallel control of a synchronous buck converter using a digital signal processor (DSP). The digital PWM and load sharing controller is implemented in the DSP TMS320F2812 and the experimental results are provided to show the feasibility of the digital synchronous buck regulator.

  • This paper presents a new scheme of neural network controller to improve the robustuous of robot manipulator using digital signal processors. Digital signal processors, DSPs, are micro-processors that are particularly developed for fast numerical computations involving sums and products of variables. Digital version of most advanced control algorithms can be defined as sums and products of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fast in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of their prices. These features make DSPs a viable computational tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. During past decade it was proposed the well-established theorys for the adaptive control of linear systems, but there exists relatively little general theory for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Perforating of the proposed controller is illustrated. This paper describes a new approach to the design of adaptive controller and implementation of real-time control for assembling robotic manipulator using digital signal processor.   • 고전의 관현악기에서부터 현대의 각종 전자악기까지, 인류는 그 문화와 시대의 변화에 따라 다양한 형태의 악기를 개발하고 활용하였다. 최근에는 전기전자 기술의 발달로 다양한 센서와 프로그램을 활용해서 여러 가지 음색과 효과를 내는 악기가 개발되고 있다. 그 중에서 사람의 움직임을 직접 감지해서 음악적 도구로 활용하는 기술이 주목 받고 있다. 이를 위해 터치 센서(touch sensor), 비젼 센서(vision sensor), 자기장 센서(magnetic sensor), 초음파 센서(ultrasonic sensor) 등이 응용되고 있다. 그러나 지금까지의 센서 기술로는 사람의 움직임과 관련된 위치, 속도, 가속도 등에 대한 정보를 직접 추출하기가 어렵고, 구현된 시스템도 공간의 제약을 받거나 혹은 구현된 부피가 크거나 복잡한 구성형태를 지니고 있는 문제점이 있었다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 사람의 움직임과 관련된 가속도 정보를 직접 감지해서 새로운 형태의 악기로 활용될 수 있는 시스템을 연구하고 개발하였다. 이를 위해 6개의 가속도 정보를 처리하는 기술과 DSP(Digital Signal Processor) 활용 기술, Max/MSP 활용 기술이 응용 되었으며, 소형의 시스템을 개발하기 위해 시그널 컨디셔닝(signal conditioning) 회로와 DSP 보드를 자체 개발하였다. 실험을 통해 사람의 움직임과 관련된 각종 정보가 적절한 소프트웨어의 활용으로 다양한 음색의 변화는 물론 음높이, 음량의 변화까지도 제어할 수 있음을 확인하였고, 새로운 형태의 악기로써 무대 공연이나 노래방 등에 폭넓게 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • The goal of this paper is to developed a DSP based power analyzing and control system by 3-Dimensional (3-D) space current co-ordinates. A developed system is made up of 486-PC and DSP (Digital Signal Processor) board, Active Power Filter, Non-linear thyristor load, and Power analyzing and control program for Windows. Power is analyzed using signal processing techniques based on the correlation between voltage and current waveforms. Since power analysis algorithm is performed by DSP, power analysis is achieved in real-time even under highly dynamic nonlinear loading conditions. Combining control algorithm with power analysis algorithm is performed by DSP, power analysis is achieved in real-time even under highly dynamic nonlinear loading conditions. Combining control algorithm with power analysis algorithm, flexibility of the proposed system which has both power analysis mode and control mode, is greatly enhanced. Non-active power generated while speed of induction motor is controlled by modulating firing angle of thyristor converter, is compensated by Active Power Filter for verifying a developed system. Power analysis results, before/after compensation, are numerically obtained and evaluated. From these results, various graphic screens for time/frequency/3-D current co-ordinate system are displayed on PC. By real-time analysis of power using a developed system, power quality is evaluated, and compared with that of conventional current co-ordinate system. (author). refs., figs. tabs.

  • Recently, the need for various underwater application systems targeting efficient resource exploration and aquatic ecosystem monitoring is rapidly increasing in littoral sea and inland waters. In this paper, we focus on the research and development of digital module of acoustic micro modem which can be used for underwater mobile communication systems and underwater sensor network systems. Specifically, a digital module of acoustic modem embedding digital signal processor is designed and implemented. On top of the developed hardware platform, physical layer frame generation and recovery and channel coding algorithms are mounted and tested in a water tank and a pond to verify its functionality and performance. According to experimental results, less than 1 percent of total computational power is consumed in the processing of frame control and convolutional code with the data rate of 1 kbps. Thus, the performance of micro modem could be improved by loading efficient baseband algorithms into the processor while maintaining the implemented hardware.

  • In this paper, we implemented QPSK(Quadrature Phase-Shift Keying) modem which is widely used for communication systems, using a general Digital Signal Processor(DSP), TM320C31. Up to now, almost all of communication systems consist of hardware. However, the implemented system herein is composed of software and hardware part. Software part includes the modulation process, before passing D/A(Digital-to-Analog Converter) and the demodulation process, after passing A/D(Analog-to-Digital Converter) in IF(Intermediate Frequency) node. Hardware part is related to input, output and process of signal. To demonstrate the successful implementation of modem, the output results obtained from DSP processor are compared with the simulated result on the personal computer.

  • This paper presents a digital instrument for a DSP based power quality analysis in three phase power system where current waveform is non-sinusoidal. it is based on stand alone type TMS320C31 DSP(digital signal processor)board and on a special high-speed data acquisition system. Power quality of low power motor drives are analyzed and processed by using a simple average power algorithm, and result of power analysis are displayed by LCD in the proposed system. This paper also goes on to discuss the performance of an instrument prototype, both in terms of accuracy and speed of measurement under the transient and steady state condition.
