This study was to develop a screening tool to identify the pregnant women who are required to have a concrete checkup or education about preterm birth. The items for the screening tool were drafted from literature review and the result of interviews with women who are hospitalized after preterm delivery based on the biopsychosocial framework. The validity and reliability of the items was performed after the content validity and the pilot survey. The screening tool for the risk of preterm birth in pregnant women was consisted of two parts. One was consisted of 9-items for the biomedical risks and another one was consisted of 17-items for the psycho-physical risks. The screening tool for the risk of preterm birth in pregnant women reveals valid and reliable. It could be applied to identify the pregnant women who have some risks of preterm birth.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the prevalence, and determine factors associated with metabolic syndrome risk among kidney transplantation recipients. This study data were collected by means of retrospective chart reviews for 111 kidney recipients at an organ transplantation center in South Korea. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test or chi-squared test, and Pearson's correlation or Point biserial correlation. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome in our subjects was 65.8%. Metabolic syndrome was related with age, body mass index of before and after Kidney transplantation, and smoking. Study results indicate that intervention for modifying individual lifestyle behaviors is required to prevent and reduce their prevalence of metabolic syndrome after kidney transplantation.
This study was to perform a systematic review to examine pressure ulcer preventive intervention and risk factors. PRISMA flow diagram in accordance with the selection process of this research was done. The literatures were retrieved from domestic and international study from 2010 to June, 2019. A total of 30 literatures were selected according to the selection criteria of this study. The literatures were searched electronically using the search engine with the key words of 'pressure ulcers', 'bedsore', 'decubitus ulcers', 'intervention', 'prevention'. The results of this study suggest that mediation with position change and pressure reduction device reduced the incidence of pressure sores and was important for prevention. Based on the results of this study, we provide basic data for preventive intervention of pressure ulcers that are appropriate for each medical institution.

The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of 12-week physical activity intervention on obesity and metabolic syndrome risk factors and smartphone game time in children. A total of 27 children(fifth grade elementary school students) participated in this study. The subjects were divided to exercise group(n=16) and control group(n=11), and participants in exercise group performed running and jump rope(60min/day; 3days/week; 50~70% of THR) during 12-week. We analyzed measurement data using two-way ANOVA. As results, obesity indices except body weight and metabolic syndrome risk factor decreased significantly in exercise group compare with control group. And VO2max increased and smartphone game time decreased significantly in exercise group compare with control group. In conclusion, we suggest that 12-week exercise intervention in children has positive effects on obesity and metabolic syndrome and improve negative lifestyle such as smartphone game.
This study built the theoretical frameworks for empirical analysis based on the analysis of the relationship among the concepts of risk of information privacy, the experience of information privacy, the policy of information privacy and information control via the provision intention studies. This research focuses on entrepreneurial orientation(EO) of technology spin-offs as they are expected to reduce the gap between their technology and the market. Entrepreneurial orientation is an organizational activity or process that redistributes or combines resources in an innovative way and takes risk to create new values. It helps improve the level of organizational innovation to deal with uncertainty. An empirical study was performed to analyze the EO of spin-offs established by members of university faculties and research institutes in Korea. Antecedent variables to EO are hypothesized to include public policy for university faculty members and researchers at research institutes, the relationship with incubating organizations, and the level of social networking with other firms. The EO and technological performance relationships are also hypothesized. Data from a total of 121 spin-off organizations were collected and a series of multiple regressions were performed. The performance variable included both technological performance, such as the number of newly marketed products and new technology and subjective performance, such as the level of satisfaction with sales amount and profitability. Several important conclusions were drawn from this study. First, while government policy is not related to EO, the policy of a university or a research institute has a significant effect on the level of innovativeness. Second, a high percentage of human resources applied at the incubating organization results in a negative effect on risk taking. The level of cooperation with the incubating organization too is not related to Entrepreneurial Orientation. Third, the intensity of cooperative networking with other firms has a significant effect on risk-taking. Network relationship with government related organizations is not related to Entrepreneurial Orientation. This study analyzes the importance and role of policy of the university and research institute and networking with other firms to improve EO. It also suggests that a high composition of human resources at the incubating organization has a negative relationship with EO.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of nutrition related factors on mortality risk among community-residing older adults in Korea. We analyzed data from 8,532 older adults who took part in the 2008 living profiles of older people survey and 2011 death mortality data. According to Cox regression analysis, male (Hazard Ratio [HR], 2.03; 95% Confidence Interval [CI], 1.74~2.37), diabetes mellitus (HR, 1.35; 95% CI, 1.12~1.64), underweighted (HR, 2.68; 95% CI, 2.16~3.31), dysphagia (HR, 1.23; 95% CI, 1.02~1.47), chewing ability (HR, 1.33; 95% CI, 1.11~1.59), and undernutrition (HR, 1.47; 95% CI, 1.23~1.75) significantly affected mortality risk. Systematic nutrition support programs should be developed to decrease the mortality among Korean older adults.
As the importance of software in various industry areas has been increased, the number of accidents related to software safety are growing up. The key industries such as railroads, aviation and medicine, recommend IEC 61508 and international safety standards for their own to achieve functional safety and reduce the issues caused by that. For equipment of ship navigation, there are not any particular standards or guidance which Korean users can introduce as considering software functional safety. This article defines the procedure and outcomes of the risk analysis in order to secure software functional safety in marine navigational equipment and applies them to an echo sounder as a case study.
