The ignition noises from the vehicle are measured and the measurement data are statistically treated for modeling. The low-noise amplifier and band-pass filter are added between the receiver and the three axes antenna for low noise level measurement and the APD and PSD are measured in 800 MHz frequency range. The measured APD curves can be expressed in terms of sensitivity study of each model through 3(class A) or 6(Class B) parameters variation, and these optimal parameter can easily be calculated by using the Composite Approximation Algorithm. The selected APD parameter can be used for making the Data Base EM-environments and also applied to determine the output and sensitivity margin for the transmitter and receiver. 'Digital microwave transmission systems are equipped with equalizer against fading during multipath fading. In this paper, we proposed variable reference tap position equalizer that varies the reference tap according to fading type to archive better performance. We got the perf?mance improvement about 4~5 dB in MP condition and 2~3 dB in NMP condition from simulation results.
In this paper, we propose an algorithm to improve the precision of initial carrier-frequency offset estimation for multiband-OFDM (MB-OFDM) UWB system which is considering the quantization-noise effect. In the general OFDM system, the two adjacent and repeated preamble symbols are used for the initial carrier-frequency synchronization while the performance of the frequency-offset estimation is bounded by quantization effect generated from analog-to-digital conversion at the receiver. This paper proposes a method in which one-symbol interval between two adjacent preamble symbols for the initial frequency synchronization is extended to multiple-symbol interval between non-adjacent symbols in an extent that phase ambiguity does not occur. In this paper, we also present '6' as optimal multiple symbol interval for the MB-OFDM system with 30 preamble symbols on 3-band hopping and with 4-bit A/D conversion at the receiver. Under the channel environments for the MB-OFDM UWB system, the simulation results show that the proposed estimation algorithm can achieve the initial estimation in offset precision less than 5 ppm.

There are 21,000 National Surveying Control Points (NSCP) made of stone for precise surveying nationwide. NSCPs that provide location information are usually buried at the top of a mountain for view points that cannot be used by the public. Recently, according to the growing ubiquitous computing generation, location-based information has become very important and a service that can be easily accessed by the public is needed. In this research, a new type of reference point for a location information service is proposed. It is an Intelligent Reference Point (IRP) equipped with RFID tags and a two-dimensional bar-code system. The IRP system is composed of an electronic tag component, a tag identification component, and an IRP service component. We designed the IRP receiver identifying RFID tag and two-dimensional barcode was designed using a PDA, digital camera, and an RFID receiver. Also designed was IRP input data and input information. Furthermore, the operation software was developed in a PDA for identifying IRP and using IRP the service, and the IRP positioning method was developed using a GIS spatial analysis.
In this paper, ${\pi}/4$-DQPSK modem according to ITU-R M.1842-1 recommendation Annex1 is investigated and simulated. At first, standardization and technical trend of VHF maritime mobile communication are introduced. The ${\pi}/4$-DQPSK modem defined in the Annex1 should support 28.8Kbps bit transmission rate within 25KHz frequency bandwidth. We describe the system model and simulation process of ${\pi}/4$-DQPSK modem transmitter and receiver design with RRC(Root Raised Cosine) transmitter and receiver filter. Then we suggest various graphical simulation results(time domain signals, constellation, power spectral density according to roll-off factor, eye diagram), and show simulated BER performance of the modem. From the simulation results, it is shown that roll-off factor of RRC filter affects to BER performance according to SNR and the designed simulation model meets the spectrum mask requirement suggested in ITU-R M.1842-1 recommendation.

In this paper, the measurement system of crane moving range is concerned with range recognition technology using phase and magnitude of radio wave. By the proposed technology, we design the radio transmitter and receiver and realize the measurement system, and save the data in disk that is earned from 900Mhz RF signal, middle frequency 450khz of analog signal. As a result of RF measurement, we got 9.3 dBm of RF output and 96 dBc@10khz of phase noise. Range information is earned the data through digital signal processing of IF signal. For the estimation of range measured, we analyze the difference between real range and measurement range, and also suggest the method to remove the measurement error using average processing and amplitude properties. A result is 0.12 and 0.00422 deviation in l0mn-30m and within 5m respectively, and then 2.4E-04 deviation in 4m by using compensation of level characteristics lately.

Positioning technology is performing important functions in augmented reality, smart factory, and autonomous driving. Among the positioning techniques, the positioning method using beacons has been considered a challenging task due to the deviation of the RSSI value. In this study, the position of a moving object is predicted by training a neural network that takes the RSSI value of the receiver as an input and the distance as the target value. To do this, the measured distance versus RSSI was collected. A neural network was introduced to create synthetic data from the collected actual data. Based on this neural network, the RSSI value versus distance was predicted. The real value of RSSI was obtained as a neural network for generating synthetic data, and based on this value, the coordinates of the object were estimated by learning a neural network that tracks the location of a terminal in a virtual environment.

In digital data transmission/storage systems, the compensation for channel distortion is conducted normally using a training sequence that is known a priori to both the sender and receiver. The use of the training sequences results in inefficient utilization of channel bandwidth. Sometimes, it is also impossible to send training sequences such as in the burst-mode communication. As such, a great deal of attention has been given to the approach requiring no training sequences, which has been called the blind equalization technique. On the other hand, to utilize the limited bandwidth effectively, the concept of partial response (PR) signaling has widely been adopted in both the high-speed transmission and high-density recording/playback systems such as digital microwave, digital subscriber loops, hard disk drives, digital VCRs and digital versatile recordable disks and so on. This paper is concerned with blind adaptive equalization of partial response channels whose transfer function zeros are located on the unit circle, thereby causing some problems in performance. Specifically we study how the problems of blind channel equalization associated with the PR channels can be improved. In doing so, we first discuss the existing methods and then propose new structures for blind PR channel equalization. Our structures have been extensively tested by computer simulation and found out to be encouraging in performance. The results seem very promising as well in terms of the implementation complexity compared to the previous approach reported in literature.

100 MHz bandwidth and 1 Gbit/s data speed are needed in LTE-advanced for the next generation mobile communication system. Therefore, spectrum aggregation method has been studied recently to extend usable frequency bands. Also bandwidth utilization is increased since vacant frequencies are used to communicate. However, transceiver structure requires the digital RF and SDR. Therefore, frequency synthesizer and PA must operate over wide-bandwidth and RF impairments also increases in transceiver. Uplink of LTE advanced uses DFT-S OFDM using plural power amplifier. The effect of ICI increases in frequency domain of receiver due to phase noise and IQ imbalance. In this paper, we analyze influences of ICI in frequency domain of receiver considering phase noise and IQ imbalance in multiband system. Also, we separate phase noise and IQ imbalance effect from channel response in frequency domain of uplink system. And we propose a method to estimate the channel exactly and to compensate IQ imbalance and phase noise. Simulation result shows that the proposed method achieves the 2 dB performance gain of BER=$10^{-4}$.
Recently, the spatiotemporal patterns of flood disasters have become more complex and unpredictable due to climate change. Flood hazard map including information on flood risk level has been widely used as an unstructured measure against flooding damages. In order to product a high-precision flood hazard map by combination of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, huge digital information such as topography, geology, climate, landuse and various database related to social economic are required. However, in some areas, especially in developing countries, flood hazard mapping is difficult or impossible and its accuracy is insufficient because such data is lacking or inaccessible. Therefore, this study suggests a method to delineate large scale flood-prone area based on topographic factors produced by linear binary classifier and ROC (Receiver Operation Characteristics) using globally-available geographic data such as ASTER or SRTM. We applied the proposed methodology to five different countries: North Korea Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar. The results show that model performances on flood area detection ranges from 38% (Bangladesh) to 78% (Thailand). The flood-prone area detection based on the topographical factors has a great advantage in order to easily distinguish the large-scale inundation-potent area using only digital elevation model (DEM) for ungauged watersheds.

We present a structure and design method of the D8PSK modem compatible with the VDL mode-2 standard and performance test results of the developed modem. In VDL mode-2, the raised cosine filter is used only in the transmitter and a general low pass filter is used in the receiver. Consequently, we can not achieve ISI reduction but can have better spectrum characteristics. Although there is 1~2 dB performance degradation with an un-matched filter compared to that with a matched filter, it is more important to minimize adjacent channel interference in narrow band communications. The transmit signal is generated digitally to avoid the problems(I/Q imbalance and DC offset etc.) of analog modulators. In addition the digital down converter using digital IF sampling technique is adopted for the receiver. This paper contains the overall configuration, design method and simulation results based in part on the previously proposed structures and algorithms. It is confirmed that the modem transmits and receives messages successfully at a speed of max. 870 km/h over ranges of up to 310 km through the ground and in-flight communication tests.
