A study on digital transformation of SMEs from the perspective of information technology

  • Purpose - With the rapid development of information technology, the digital economy has become an important grip of the new development pattern, and the digital transformation of enterprises is a major trend. As SMEs are the mainstay of the economy and employment, it is important to study the digital transformation of SMEs to promote the development of the digital economy. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on a resource-based view, this report analyses the current situation and issues of digital transformation of SMEs from the perspective of digital orientation as well as the breadth and depth of technological capabilities of enterprises, using data from a survey of 200 manufacturing enterprises in China. Result - The results show that SMEs generally have a digital transformation mindset, but a weak digital foundation. In order to execute a digital strategy, companies need digital transformation capabilities. These behavioral capabilities are guided by the strategic direction of the business, and companies with strong capabilities are always trying to tap into the full digital potential. Conclusion - In order to effectively promote the digital transformation of SMEs, we suggest that SMEs pay attention to digital capability building, make good use of digital platforms and network resources, and lay a solid foundation for digital transformation; meanwhile, we suggest that government departments play a guiding and supporting role to build a cross-industry and cross-sector digital synergy system to help promote the development of SMEs' digital transformation. This paper presents some suggestions from both the internal and external environment of the enterprise, with the expectation of contributing to the digital transformation practices of SMEs.

  • 최근 4차 산업혁명이라 일컬어지는 디지털 기술의 급속한 변화와 시장 환경의 불규칙한 변화 속에서 기업에서는 첨단화, 융합화된 디지털 기술을 신속히 감지하고 포착하여, 조직에 맞게 적용하는 동적 디지털 역량이 핵심 요소라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 기업에서 디지털 리더십과 디지털 전환과의 관계에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인들을 알아보는 데 목적이 있으며, 특히 조직의 동적 디지털 역량과 조직의 디지털 수용 의도의 매개 혹은 조절 효과를 실증 분석하고자 한다. 전국의 산업단지 내 미니클러스터 참여기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하여 수집한 258부의 자료를 표본으로 가설을 검증하였다. 연구결과 동적 디지털 역량은 디지털 리더십과 디지털 전환과의 관계에서 유의한 매개효과를 보였고, 디지털 수용의도는 동적 디지털 역량과 디지털 전환과의 관계에서 조절효과를 보였다. 본 연구는 조직에서의 동적 디지털 역량, 디지털 수용의도의 개념과 측정항목을 체계화하였으며, 기업에서 디지털 전환 추진 시 동적 디지털 역량을 어떻게 측정 및 제고하고, 조직원의 디지털 수용의도를 어떻게 활용할 것인지에 관한 시사점을 제시하였다는 점에 의의가 있다.

  • In the recent context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there is growing interest in digital transformation and smart factory as a focal point. But, the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) sector has seen limited research on digital transformation, primarily concentrating on digitally-driven areas. The study validates hypotheses pertaining to the factors that facilitate successful digital transformation within the A&D sector and the influence of digital leadership and dynamic capabilities, employing statistical tools like SPSS and AMOS. The comprehensive analysis reveals that, similar to manufacturing industries, digital leadership in A&D companies exerts an influence on successful digital transformation through dynamic capabilities. Furthermore, digital transformation within the A&D sector has a positive impact on firm performance. This paper offers empirical insights into digital transformation within the A&D sector, shedding light on how successful digital transformation can be achieved within the domestic A&D industry.

  • 디지털 융합 환경에서 제품기획능력, 제품디자인능력 및 제조능력은 IT 중소기업의 지속적인 경쟁우위를 창출하는 데에 매우 중요하다. 그러나, 이러한 주요 능력들간의 관계를 규명하는 실증 연구들이 거의 부재하여, 본 연구는 IT 중소기업의 제품기획능력, 제품디자인능력 및 제조능력 사이의 관계를 모형화하고 이에 대한 실증 분석을 실시하였다. 특히, 본 연구는 IT 중소기업의 제품디자인능력을 제품외부 디자인능력과 제품내부 디자인능력으로 구분하고 이러한 두 가지 형태의 디자인능력이 IT 중소기업의 제품기획능력과 제조능력 사이에 미치는 매개효과에 초점을 맞추었다. 본 연구는 310개의 한국 IT 중소기업을 대상으로 실시한 최소자승회귀분석 결과를 통해 IT 중소기업의 제품외부 디자인능력과 내부 디자인 능력은 제품기획능력과 제조능력 사이에 존재하는 양(+)의 관계를 함께 완전 매개한다는 것을 실증적으로 보여준다.

노인의 사회적 관계망 접촉빈도와 삶의 만족도: 디지털역량의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Social Network Contact Frequency and Life Satisfaction of the Elderly: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Digital Capabilities)

  • The aims of this study were to identify (a) the social network contact frequency of the elderly with children, relatives, and friends; (b) the impact of contact frequency (face-to-face/non-face-to-face) on life satisfaction of the elderly; and (c) the moderating effect of digital capabilities of the elderly on the relationship between social contact frequency and life satisfaction. Data were obtained from the National Survey of Older Koreans 2020. The sample comprised 6,119 adults aged 65+ who were in single or couple households. The principal findings were as follows. First, couple households, higher levels of education, and better health status increased life satisfaction of the elderly. Second, the higher the frequency of face-to-face contact with children and the higher the frequency of non-face-to-face contact with friends, the more positive the effect on life satisfaction of the elderly. Third, the interaction effect of the digital capabilities of the elderly differed according to children, relatives and friends. There was a significant and positive moderating effect on the relationship between life satisfaction and the frequency of face-to-face/non-face-to-face contact with children and the frequency of face-to-face contact with relatives. Conversely, there was a significant negative effect on the relationship between life satisfaction and the frequency of face-to-face/non-face-to-face contact with friends. By examining the impact of non-face-to-face contact on life satisfaction of the elderly in the era of digital transformation, the findings have significance in that they provide basic data to support policies and education programs aimed at improving the digital capabilities of the elderly.

공공데이터 융합역량 수준에 따른 데이터 기반 조직 역량의 연구 (A Study on the Data-Based Organizational Capabilities by Convergence Capabilities Level of Public Data)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of public data convergence capabilities of administrative organizations and to explore important variables in data-based organizational capabilities. The theoretical background was summarized on public data and use activation, joint use, convergence, administrative organization, and convergence constraints. These contents were explained Public Data Act, the Electronic Government Act, and the Data-Based Administrative Act. The research model was set as the data-based organizational capabilities effect by a data-based administrative capability, public data operation capabilities, and public data operation constraints. It was also set whether there is a capabilities difference data-based on an organizational operation by the level of data convergence capabilities. This study analysis was conducted with hierarchical cluster analysis and multiple regression analysis. As the research result, First, hierarchical cluster analysis was classified into three groups. It was classified into a group that uses only public data and structured data, a group that uses public data on both structured and unstructured data, and a group that uses both public and private data. Second, the critical variables of data-based organizational operation capabilities were found in the data-based administrative planning and administrative technology, the supervisory organizations and technical systems by public data convergence, and the data sharing and market transaction constraints. Finally, the essential independent variables on data-based organizational competencies differ by group. This study contributed. As a theoretical implication, this research is updated on management information systems by explaining the Public Data Act, the Electronic Government Act, and the Data-Based Administrative Act. As a practical implication, the activity reinforcement of public data should be promoting the establishment of data standardization and search convenience and elimination of the lukewarm attitudes and Selfishness behavior for data sharing.

Distribution Competitive Advantage of Vietnamese Fintech Enterprises and its Impact on Dynamic Capabilities

  • Purpose: The study has identified factors affecting dynamic capabilities and the distribution of competitive advantage under the impact of dynamic capabilities of Vietnamese fintech businesses. Research design, data, and methods: The method used in this study is a survey analysis of 120 Vietnamese fintech businesses to test the hypothesized relationships of the research model as well as evaluate its effectiveness. The study uses the Cronbach alpha analysis, factor analyses, and structural equation modeling to assess the research's measurement and structural models. Results: Research results show that 3 critical success factors: "Capacity to develop financial service ideas," "Ability to develop a platform," and "Business capacity" have a positive impact on "Dynamic capabilities." In addition, the study also evaluates the effect of "dynamic capabilities" on the "competitive advantage" of fintech businesses. Conclusion: Theoretically, this result contributes to discovering new, specific factors affecting the dynamic capabilities of fintech businesses. In practice, the research results are empirical evidence of the distribution of competitive advantages of Vietnamese Fintech businesses and their impact on dynamic capabilities.

소상공인의 사업역량과 디지털역량이 사업만족도에 미치는 영향 : 1인 미디어 교육성과의 조절효과 (The Effect of Business and Digital Capabilities of Small Businesses on Business Satisfaction : The Moderating Effect of Personal Media Education Performance)

  • 본 연구는 소상공인의 사업역량과 디지털역량이 사업만족에 미치는 영향관계를 실증 분석하기 위하여 이루어졌다. 이를 위해 사업역량을 세분화해서 소상공인의 업종전문성, 고객관리전문성으로 나누었다. 디지털역량은 SNS활동성, ICT사용용이성, ICT사업활용성으로 세분화하였다. 이들 요인들이 사업만족도에 영향을 미침에 있어서 1인 미디어 교육성과에 따라 어떻게 달라지는지를 동시에 살펴보았다. 이를 실증 분석하기 위해 1인 미디어 교육을 받은 사람을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 하였으며 유효한 200개를 분석대상으로 삼았다. 통계분석에는 SPSS 24.0와 Macro Process 4.0을 활용하였다. 본 연구의 실증 분석 결과, 업종전문성, 고객관리전문성, SNS활동성, ICT사업활용성은 사업만족도에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 반면, ICT사용용이성은 유의한 영향관계가 검정되지 않았다. 사업만족도에 미치는 영향력은 업종전문성과 ICT사업활용성이 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 1인 미디어 교육성과는 SNS활동성, ICT 사업활용성과 사업만족도 사이의 조절역할을 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구 결과는 디지털역량의 중요성이 증대되는 시점에서 소상공인에 있어서도 이러한 역량이 사업만족도에 지대한 영향을 미친다는 점을 실증적으로 분석했다는 측면에서 의의가 있다.

예비교사의 디지털 기반 원주율 교수학습자료 개발 사례 연구 (A Study on Pre-service Teachers' Development of Digital-based Teaching and Learning Materials of Pi )

  • 본 연구의 목적은 디지털 기반 원주율 교수학습자료를 개발하는 과정에서 예비교사들의 디지털 역량과 원주율에 대한 내용지식이 어떻게 나타나고 강화되는지를 분석함으로써 예비교사 교육에 주는 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해 알지오매스 환경에서 두 명의 예비교사가 블록코딩을 활용하여 원주율 지도를 위한 탐구활동 자료를 개발하는 과정을 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 통해, 알지오매스의 블록 코딩 활동이 예비교사의 디지털 역량을 발현하고 확장하는 경험을 제공하였다는 것과 예비교사들의 원주율에 대한 내용 지식을 심화시키는 기회가 되었으며 디지털 자료 개발 환경의 한계점을 인식할 수 있는 계기가 되었음을 확인하였다. 또한 예비교사들의 디지털 역량 강화 프로그램으로 블록 코딩을 적극적으로 활용할 필요가 있다는 것과 디지털 교수학습자료 개발에 필요한 지식으로 예비교사 교육에서 교육과정에 대한 이해를 강조할 필요가 있음을 제언하였다.

Food Processing Enterprises Performance: Roles of Dynamic Capabilities and Competitive Advantage

  • Purpose: Dynamic capabilities are acknowledged as pivotal factors facilitating the generation of competitive advantage and performance for enterprises across diverse sectors, notably within the food processing industry. This study endeavors to explore and examine the direct and indirect impact of dynamic capability factors, encompassing innovation capability, market orientation (customer orientation, supply chain orientation, competitor orientation), and digital orientation on the business performance of Vietnamese food processing enterprises. Research design, data and methodology: Research data was collected from 239 food processing enterprise managers and analyzed using partial least square - structural equation modeling. Results: With the exception of digital orientation, the study found evidence of the role of innovation capability and market orientation (customer orientation, supply chain orientation, competitor orientation) in the overall competitive advantage of Vietnamese food processing enterprises. Furthermore, the study underscores the contributions of innovation capability, market orientation and digital orientation in fostering performance of Vietnamese food processing enterprises. It also identifies the mediating role of competitive advantage in the relationship between dynamic capabilities and performance. Conclusions: Consequently, the study proposes a number of implications for food processing enterprise managers with the aim of establishing and enhancing competitive advantage and business performance in the future.
