As the first step to develop efficient means to control fungal spore bioaerosols, we designed, manufactured, and evaluated a fungal spore aerosol generator. We studied the physical and biological properties of the fungal spore bioaerosols on two common fungal species. The results demonstrated that the fungal spore bioaerosol generator effectively produces fungal spore bioaerosols.

This study presents a numerical model to predict the behavior of frost layer growth. The characteristics of the heat and mass transfer inside the frost layer are analyzed by coupling the air flow with the frost layer. The present model is validated by comparing with the several other analytical models. It has been known that most of the previous models cause considerable errors depending on the working conditions or correlations used in predicting the frost thickness growth, whereas the model in this work estimates the thickness of the frost layer more accurately within an error of 10% in comparison with the experimental data. Simulation results are presented for variations of heat and mass transfer during the frost formation and for the behavior of frost layer growth along the direction of air flow.

A term of home automation that was in fashion only a few years ago has not been used any more. Nowadays, We have been used a term of home network or digital home than home automation much. While internet infra is diffused at home, data network corp., communication corp., electric appliance corp. and home automation control system corp. which we did not mind each other particularly constructed consortium, and they have designs on home network market. Also, cellular phone's growth tried home networking by using not only wired internet but also broadband wireless communication. Regardless, many solutions are coming out it is few to be applied to real life because the standard is not determined with the protocol each other. Therefore, we developed home network system using USB(Universal Serial Bus) that has the possibility most in home networking standard. The mobile USB home control system is excellent at expansibility and portability. Also we can complete low cost and stable system using an embedded system.

Different CAx systems are being utilized throughout the product lifecycle due to the practical reasons in the supply chain and design processes. One of the major problems facing enterprises of today is how to share and exchange data among heterogeneous applications. Since different software applications use different terminologies, it is difficult to share and exchange the product data with internal and external partners. This paper presents a method to enhance the CAD model interoperability based on feature ontology. The feature ontology has been constructed based on the feature definition of modeling commands of CAD systems. A method for integration of semantic data has been proposed, implemented, and tested with two commercial CAD systems.

Recently, many linear motion generators and are rapidly finding applications that ranges from short stroke linear motion vibrators, such as dynamic cone type loud speakers tostirling engine driven linear reciprocatings, alternators, compressors, textile machines etc. In this paper the dynamic performance with load is computed by a general purpose method, which the equation of electromagnetic field, the equation of electric circuit and the equation of motion are coupled together. We fumed out the driving system and the dynamic characteristics of current, voltage and displacement is confirmed experiment.

Developing network software in embedded systems, such as digital set-top boxes, requires coding under limited computing resources. This paper presents the porting of Point-to-point Protocol (PPP) software, PPPD, to an embedded system. The PPP is the most popular link layer protocol for the information appliance, to an embedded system. In order to achieve this, problems to be solved for the porting were identified and methods to solve the problems were described. First, PPP source codes were divided into modules. Next, functions of each module were analyzed and interfaces between the modules were delineated. With the analysis results, porting to the embedded system was described. The normal operation of the ported software was verified with the help of a network packet analyzer. Finally, experiences during the porting were presented. The method developed in th paper can be applied to the porting of software to an embedded system as well as the porting of network software.

Since a tower crane is too high for a worker to ascend and by the wind in the high altitude, the possibility of a safety accident is very high, a lift assist is used. In this study, the hydraulic fall prevention device using the pressure generation device by Seok, et al. was developed. For this, the effects on the fall prevention performances of factors such as gear clearance, oil viscosity, rotative velocity and so on were evaluated by the analysis of fluid flow using FEM and the prototype was producted and a function test was performed.

Low noise of air-conditioners is one of the most important issues because of the users' strong demand. The main source of noise in an air-conditioner is the compressor. Therefore, noise reduction in a compressor is quite significant as an element technology in the air-conditioner field. Recently, scroll compressors are widely used, because they feature low noise, due to less pulsation of gas pressure, than that of rotary compressors. For reduction of noise, the source of noise must be identified. This paper presents a detailed analysis to identify the noise source and shows the dominant factors of noise of the scroll compressor, which will make it possible to design a scroll compressor with low noise.

Design is important in the IT, digital appliance, and auto industries. Aesthetic and art images are being applied for better quality of the products. Most image patterns are complex and much lead-time is required to implement them to the product design process. A precise reverse engineering method generating 2.5D engraving models from 2D artistic images is proposed through the image processing, NURBS interpolation and 2.5D reconstruction methods. To generate 2.5D TechArt models from the art images, boundary points of the images are extracted by using the adaptive median filter and the novel MBF (modified boundary follower) algorithm. Accurate NURBS interpolation of the points generates TechArt CAD models. Performance of the developed system has been confirmed through the quick turnaround 2.5D engraving simulation linked with the commercial CAD/CAM system.

The hermetic rotary compressor is one of the most important components of an air conditioning system since it has a great effect on both the performance and the noise and vibration of the system. Noise and vibration occurs due to gas pulsation during the compression process and to unbalanced dynamic force. In order to reduce noise and vibration, it is necessary to identify their sources and transmission path and effectively control them. Many approaches have been tried in order to identify the noise transmission path of a compressor. However, identification has proven to be difficult since the characteristics of compressor noise are complicated due to the interaction of the compressor parts and gas pulsation. In this study, the statistical energy analysis has been used to trace the energy flow in the compressor and to identify the transmission paths from the noise source to the exterior sound field.
