For the process simplification in the fabrication of organic light emitting diode(OLED), top emission OLED (TEOLED) was fabricated without lithium fluoride(LiF) used as an electron injection layer (EIL). After co-deposition of Mg and Ag with a different process conditions, a cathode material adjacent to EIL was optimized when Mg and Ag have a ratio of 1:9 considering sheet resistance and transmittance. From the energy band diagram of TEOLED, band gap difference between Trisaluminium (Alq3) and Mg:Ag cathode show the difference of 0.4 eV according to the usage of LiF The fabricated TEOLED without LiF showed the improvement of 5.2 % and 2.7 % in the luminance and the current density comparing that with LiF. The results show there is no significant difference in OLED characteristics regardless of LIF layer in the TEOLED structures.
The effect of Post Weld Heat Treatment(PWHT) of RE36 steel for marine structure was investigated with parameters such as micro-vickers hardness, corrosion potential and corrosion current density of weld metal(WM), base metal(BM) and heat affected zone(HAZ), and both Al alloy anode generating current and Al alloy anode weight loss quantity etc. Hardness of post-weld heat treated BM, WM and HAZ is lower than that of As-welded condition of each region. However, hardness of HAZ was the highest among those three parts regardless of PWHT temperature and corrosion potential of WM was the highest among those three parts without regard to temperature and corrosion potential of WM was the highest among those three parts without regard to PWHT temperature. The amplitude of corrosion potential difference of each other three parts at PWHT temperature $550^{\circ}C$, $650^{\circ}C$ are smaller than that of three parts by As-welded condition and corrosion current density obtained by PWHT was also smaller than that of As-welded condition. Eventually, it was known that corrosion resistance was increased by PWHT. However both Al anode generating current and anode weight loss quantity were also decreased by PWHT compare to As-welded condition when RE36 steel is cathodically protected by Al anode. Therefore, it is suggested that the optimum PWHT temperature with increasing corrosion resistance and cathodic protection effect is $550^{\circ}C$.
We researched the mechanism on th flucturain of Bottom Cold Water in the western channel of Korea Strait, using 13 years(1981~1933) oceanographic data of FRDA. The bottom cold water in the western channel appears more often in summer and fall than in winter and spring, and its year-to-year variation of temperature is very large. Such variation seems to be closely related with the variations of cold waters in the subsurface layer of the southwestern East Sea. According to the longitudinal temperature distribution along the korean southeastern coast, a density difference occurs all the time at the still deepth between the western channel and the southwestern East Sea. Thus, it is inferred that the cold waters would intrude into the western channle form the subsurface layer in the southwestern East Sea as a density-driven current, and it intensity depends upon the density difference.
This paper focuses on understanding the interrupting capability of an arc contact system in a molded case circuit breaker (hereafter MCCB). We selected four types of MCCBs and analyzed the magnetic flux density distributions in the contact systems caused by the fault currents. We ascertained that the magnetic flux density profile varies according to the shape of the contact system and was asymmetric at both the ends of an arc, perpendicular to the arc column because of the magnetic grid installed in the contact system. The asymmetric difference creates a magnetic force that pushes the arc current outwards and provides an interrupting capability. We have introduced a simple analysis method for determining the interrupting capability of the contact system for an MCCB by the arc-driving magnetic flux density.
Line to ground faults by deterioration of insulators has frequently occurred in power system, and the main cause is surface contamination of the insulators. The contamination of insulator is analyzed by monitoring the surface leakage current flowing them. The suspension insulator is monitored by installation of a zero-phase current sensor(ZCT), but the line-post insulator is impossible to apply the same method because of its large diameter structure. This paper proposed a detection method of surface leakage current for a line-post insulator, and it can easily be applied to new and/or built insulators. The leakage current is indirectly calculated from the potential difference between the metal electrode attached on the surface of insulator and the ground connector. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, the leakage current is compared as a function of contamination condition controlled by the density of NaCl solution. The leakage current is proportioned to the density of NaCl solution, and the voltage detected by the electrode showed the same trend. From the experimental results, we designed and fabricated a monitoring device which is composed of a detection electrode, signal converter, microprocessor, and ZigBee, and its measurement range is $10{\mu}A{\sim}5mA$.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of current density on penetration depth, tissue concentration and transdermal transport of methylene blue(MB) by iontophoretic transdermal delivery. METHODS: Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 1 mA($0.11mA/cm^2$), 2 mA($0.22mA/cm^2$), 4 mA($0.44mA/cm^2$), and 8 mA($0.89mA/cm^2$) groups. These rats were exposed to anodic iontophoresis of 1% MB using a direct current for 15 minutes. The penetration depth were measured using light microscopy from cryosections of skin tissue. The tissue concentration and transdermal transport were measured using biochemical analysis from target skin tissues. The data were analyzed with one-way analysis of variance. RESULTS: The significant differences in the penetration depth, tissue concentration and transdermal transport were detected among the groups(p<.001). Post hoc comparisons of the penetration depth, tissue concentration and transdermal transport of he 2 mA, 4 mA, and 8 mA iontophoresis groups were greater than in the 1 mA iontophoresis group(p<.05). There was no significant difference, however, among 2 mA, 4 mA, and 8 mA iontophoresis group. CONCLUSION: There was no difference in the efficiency of iontophoresis from 2 mA($0.22mA/cm^2$) to 8 mA($0.89mA/cm^2$). Higher current density can cause skin injury and discomfort sensation. In general, $0.5mA/cm^2$ is proposed to be the maximum iontophoretic current which should be used on human. The appropriate current amplitude should be selected by considering the safety current density and the depth of the target tissue.
In this study the induced-current density distributions in spherical human model by the magnetic field from electric power lines were analysed with visualization and also the effects of phase difference between components of magneto field were investigated.
This research investigated the relationship between the corrosion damage characteristics of offshore wind steel substructure and the time of current density application by electrochemical accelerated short-term corrosion test. The galvanostatic corrosion was conducted on the steel specimens in natural seawater with a constant current density ranging from $1mA/cm^2$ to $200mA/cm^2$ for 1 ~ 180 min. Macro and micro observation was carried out on the surface of the corrosion damaged area using SEM and 3-dimensional analysis microscope. The weight loss of the specimens before and after was calculated as the difference between the initial weight prior to corrosion and weight after removal of the corrosion product. It was shown that during galvanostaic corrosion process, the corrosion behavior could be characterized by the onset of pitting corrosion in the early stage and the uniform corrosion in the late stage, showing damage development in the depth direction with the time of current application. The result of the 3D analysis revealed that both damage depth and surface roughness increased with increasing time of current application. The weight loss curves with time showed that a coefficient of determination ($R^2$) was relatively high for the relationship between the time of current application and weight loss. As a result, the degree of corrosion can be controlled by simply varying the time of current application.
Porous silicon was prepared by anodic reaction. The process was controlled by current density and etching time an the thickness change and the room temperature PL was measured. The thickness of porous silicon was increased with etching time and was decreased after critical time. It was the same as increasing current density. It needed only 15 sec to electropolish the surface of porous silicon above current density 70 mA/cm2. We can understand that increasing etching time leads narrow size of Si column by porous silicon formation mechanism. And the sample with narrow Si column revealed PL blue shift. The specimens were heated in the range of 300-1000$^{\circ}C$ in order to see PL changes. The heat treatment was proceeded in H2 atmosphere vacuum system to avoid oxidation. The PL was disappeared above 600$^{\circ}C$. In high temperature some sintered Si columns were observed in SEM photography. There was no difference of -Hx bonds which was suggested as evidence of hydride compounds luminescence between 500$^{\circ}C$ and 600$^{\circ}C$. Thus it is concluded that quantum confinement is major factor of PL of porous silicon.
