As a result, in dietary life characteristics, females with higher education in their 40s and 50s and with a high income level, married women, and women thinking are subjectively healthy and show a statistically significant difference compared to other groups. Next, a correlation analysis is conducted to examine the relationship between independent variables and dietary life. The results showed a positive relationship with all variables, and a high correlation in the sales recognition of homegrown products (r=.384), the recognition of a food environment (r=.349), the recognition of food welfare (r=.325), and the recognition of food safety (r=.322). Factors that influence dietary life are extracted and the causal relationship is verified through multiple regression analysis of which the dependent variable is dietary life. In a regression model of dietary life, the researcher finds the trend that explanation power increases by models that the variable group is added in an individual model ($R^2$ is changed from .090 to .215 and from .250 to .273). Subsequently, age, level of education, recognition about value of organic agricultural product, recognition about the sales of homegrown products, recognition of food environment, recognition of food safety, and recognition of food insecurity are factors that influence the dietary life of women.

According to life cycle, four age groups (20~29, 30~49, 50~64, ≥65) were created. Anthropometric indices showed significant differences according to age group (p<0.001). Energy intake significantly decreased according to age group as a result of decreased protein and fat intake (p<0.001). The intake levels of minerals, vitamins, and dietary fiber per 1,000 kcal were the lowest in the 20~29 age group (p<0.001). Whereas saturated fatty acids, MUFA, and PUFA intake levels were the highest for those in the 20~29 age group (p<0.001). The quality of dietary (DQI-I) increased with age group, but the quality of life (EQ-5D index) decreased (p<0.001). The quality of dietary showed 5.8% explanation power on the quality of life (p<0.001). Additionally, diet moderation was shown as having a negative effect, but the diversity and balance of diets had a positive effect on the quality of life. • This study was conducted to investigate the effective educational and promotional strategies for the Special Act on the Safety Management of Children's Dietary Life on the basis of the survey conducted on parents. First of all, its result showed that most parents are well aware of the main contents of the law. They answered that, when choosing safe favorite food for children, the most important part is the article "Regulations on the standards for children's favorite food should be reinforced." As for the index of safety management for children's dietary life, most respondents think safety the most important; housewives and nuclear family members choose safety (p<.01), while large family members do nutrition. For the question asking how they get the information on safety management for children's dietary life, most of them answered that they generally use mass media, family and friends as a reference. Those with high income usually get the information from special books, those between 30s and 50 from mass media, and those with college graduates from civil social groups (p<.05). In case of taking the safety education programs for children's dietary life, they told that the most necessary information is concerned with hygienic dietary life and nutrition labeling on processed food; housewives are interested in the latter, while working people in the former (p<.05). As a method of informing parents of the Special Act on the Safety Management of Children's Dietary Life, mass media such as TV and radio, and school education are suggested in this survey. Therefore, this study proposes that mass media be considered as the most effective way of promoting the Special Act on the Safety Management of Children's Dietary Life and getting information concerning the law.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the level of concern and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors, and the level of dietary behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors, to determine the factors affecting the level of knowledge and behaviors, and to assess the causal relationship between them. The data were collected from 579 adults in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju provinces. Frequencies, t tests, analysis of variance, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, multiple regression analyses, and path analysis were carried out by SPSS for Win V.18.0. The results of this study were as follows: The level of concern about endocrine disruptors was higher than the medium level. The respondents were most concerned about a container of cup ramen among products related to foods. The levels of both knowledge and behaviors in order to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life were not high. The factors affecting the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors were educational level, attendance in education for endocrine disruptors, and concern about endocrine disruptors. On the other hand, sex, age, concern about endocrine disruptors, and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors affected the level of behaviors to decrease exposure toward endocrine disruptors. The results of the path analysis showed that educational level and education of endocrine disruptors had an indirect influence on the level of behaviors in order to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life. The concern about endocrine disruptors had both a direct and an indirect effect on the level of behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life. In addition, sex, age and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors directly affected the level of behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life.

  • Rice grain has several styles, brown rice, white one, semi-white one, sprout one, etc. All of them are utilized as gohan(=boiled grain) in the dietary life. Among them, the sprout rice, recently developed on the industrial level, has been found to be so conspicuous for general functions in food science and for healthy functions in dietary life that would be worth to characteristically be called 'super rice'. Thus, the super rice should widely be promoted for production and consumption in the world.

  • This study was performed to investigate stress levels, dietary behaviors and food choices, and their correlations in college students. General characteristic stress scores, using a stress test, and the dietary behaviors and food choices of subjects under stress were measured in 358 subjects (185 males and 173 female). The mean total stress scores of the male and female students were $67.91{\pm}44.85$ and $85.62{\pm}48.91$, respectively. Female students were more stressed than males in relation to family, value, future, friends, and study related factors. There were gender differences in the food intake and frequency of eating sweet things when under stress. Stress increased the food intake and frequency of eating sweet things in female students. Especially, stress factors, such as value, economic, future, friends and study problems increased the food intake of female students. Female students preferred sweet tasting items; whereas, male students preferred hot tasting items when under stress. These results show the effect of life stresses on the dietary behaviors and food choices of college students. Stress not only increased energy consumption in certain individuals, but also changed their food choices. Therefore, education with regard to nutrition is necessary if college students are to practice good eating habits for the correct management of life stresses.
