  • In order to survive in today's world of intense market competition, one of the major goals in the manufacture industry is to supply new products in an optimal time frame. To achieve this goal, there is an essential need to shorten delivery time through higher productivity, less trial and error in the designing process, and increase in efficiency in designing new products.   • Although applying experimental data of ergonomics to a industrial design seems to be a difficult task, making every effort to the application of ergonomics to the industrial design process is still attempted. Sometimes, it is easy to use experimental data, yet, it is very hard to take that data and implement it into the design process. The essence of industrial design depends on human sensitivity, thus we can call the sense of design the software and the experimental data of ergonomics the hardware. The harmony of this hard & software is very important for the process and development of design. New products always demand new forms. Accordingly, it is easy for designers to neglect applying experiments and ergonomic data to products for public users. However, the study of ergonomics data continuously helps to be applied to more products year after year. This paper explores, how to improve the design of the tilting angle related to the shape of knobs on a front panel of a computer monitor. The results of experiments show that a tilted angle is more efficient than that of straight-type when placed on the front panel of a computer monitor with a power button.

  • Agricultural extension services in Korea need to build new extension system to cope with the digital age and especially with shortage of extension educators which has been originated from the changing status from central to local government. The new trends including development of multi-media, wide-spreading of internet, and advent of internet broadcasting are offering the opportunities for new agricultural extension service. Utilization of agricultural internet broadcasting could be a new alternative for enhancing the efficiency of agricultural extension services. Agricultural internet broadcasting could support decision making of farmers by forwarding unique agricultural data which have been collected, compiled and processed by the Rural Development Administration. Farmers will be able to search useful agricultural data through agricultural internet broadcasting for more efficient farm management and marketing farm products. Agricultural internet broadcasting could utilize more prompt and abundant agricultural technology and management data compiled by the Rural Development Administration, and through this process, agricultural internet broadcasting could compensate the shortage of extension manpower. Through feedback process of agricultural internet broadcasting. farmers will be able to communicate more efficiently with extension educators to increase agricultural production and income. Agricultural Internet broadcasting could be an alternative to prevent farmers from being shunned in the information-based society.

  • Global financial crisis at 2008 bring about the great change to the company itself and its environment. In these days, the company needs change to the ambidextrous organization, which have more efficiency processes also have more attractive products and services. Ambidextrous organization purse exploiting and exploration innovation program. For the existing process's incremental and rapid improvement, the exploiting innovation programs are used such as 6 Sigma program and so on. For the new business model's searching and developments, the exploration innovation programs are used such as blue ocean program and brainstorming and so on. In this paper is presented the new procedures, for the new business model development, combining exploration and exploiting innovation programs. To obtain the creative business ideas, various exploration methodologies are adopted based on 6 Sigma's methodology, The new procedures are applied to the venture company and examined its validity.

  • Post industrial technologies have improved human standard of living, however, a host of negative environmental consequences from the unlimited industrial appetite have posed serious global challenges. Remanufacturing is an industrial manufacturing process that is to restore old products to perform like a new and to save energy, natural resources, landfill space and to reduce air pollution by less re-smelting. By extending product lift cycle, remanufacturing gives us enormous opportunities for sustainable development of our society. This paper introduces needs and current state of the art in the field of remanufacturing, also analyzes old products in terms of product variety and wear conditions with an example of automobile alternators. Then, a general and a product-specified remanufacturing process will be determined with them. Finally, this paper shows systemized guidelines for remanufacturing process of the specified parts. The results could be also used as a basic information for further remanufacturing applications.

In order to manage software quality, the technology to specify and evaluate both the software product quality and development process quality objectively quantitatively is most important. To produce products of good quality, we need a more progressive quality control system according to the need of software development life cycle. In other words, we do software right the first time or build quality in the process. On the basis intermediate and final time or build quality in the process.   • The analysis of injection molding process by CAE is widely used in development of plastic products. That comes from the fact that CAE analysis can reduce trial and error based on optimized design. On this study, by use of MOLDFLOW, the causes of product defects were found and solved by trade-off study. CAE analysis includes Flow-Cool-Warpage Analyses and finally a new mold-die design with better product quality was suggested. On injection molding of round-shaped plastic fan, new mold-die system with 4-tunnel gates located on the edge of a fan disc shows better quality rather than pin-point gate located on the center of a disc. That was effective in terms of flow mark removal and flatness improvement of the product.

  • A small camera module fabricated by including bare chip bonding methods is utilized to realize advanced mobile devices. One of the driving forces is the TOG (Tape On Glass) bonding method which reduces the packaging size of the image sensor clip. The TOG module is a new thinner and smaller image sensor module, using flip chip interconnection method with the ACP (Anisotropic Conductive Paste). The TOG production process was established by determining the optimum bonding conditions for both optical glass bonding and image sensor clip bonding lo the flexible PCB. The bonding conditions, including sufficient bonding margins, were studied. Another bonding method is the flip chip bonding method for DSP (Digital Signal Processor) chip. A new AC\ulcorner was developed to enable the short resin curing time of 10 sec. The bonding mechanism of the resin curing method was evaluated using FEM analysis. By using these flip chip bonding techniques, small camera module was realized.

  • In this paper, the difficulties involved in analyzing and designing a management system for product development are discussed with reference to reducing the impact of products on the environment. We propose some models and methods to analyze information behavior in the process of product development based on a fusion model which integrates the assessments of users’ needs, the environment, and available technology. These models and methods are subsequently applied to the development of a new packaging material. The results of this case study allow us to identify effective information for the design of a management system for product development to reduce the impact of products on the environment.
