  • This paper proposes to use gesture recognition technology to develop 3D game for prevention of dementia. In the game, the user can choose camera mode or mouse mode to play game. In the game design, We focused on the characteristics of dementia, Developed four types of games, Including Memory training game, Math game, Logical training game and 3D visual sense training game. Each type of game is composed by a number of small games. Common feature of all the game is random, This ensures that when user play games, Basically the game will not have the same situation. For the older elderly, If can take 10 minutes a day to play the game and has always insisted on playing, For dementia preventive have a positive effect.

  • The purposes of this research are to identify causalities among flow and customer loyalty In Chinese online games, and to identify the factors by which flow are influenced. This research tests the model with Chinese on-line game users and compare this result with Korea and Japanese results which were conducted by Lee's research. These implications are thought to be helpful for Korean online game companies to understand the Chinese online game user and to develop the penetration strategies. The results indicated that significant Path coefficients to flow were the convenience of operator, the provision of information, the reality of design. The results indicated that significant path coefficients to customer loyalty were the involvement of virtual community and flow. The involvement of virtual community to flow was not significant but to customer loyalty was significant. The provision of information was negatively influenced on flow. The result of comparison indicated that the path coefficients were different among nations. Korea online game companies need to develop the indigenized online game and to Provide the information to their Chinese partner correctly and quickly.

  • An improvement of a mobile game content production and a service technology are bringing an explosive increase of a mobile game market. Currently serviced mobile games are using a WAP method and a download method. Because of technical problems, we couldn't develop the mobile game content which sequentially linked WAP->download and download->WAP. In this study, we design and develop the mobile game content which sequentially linked WAP->download and download->WAP. In the proposed method, we can linked the stage and the ranking information as sharing a data on real time that it is impossible in the previous mobile game content.

  • The portable game market is growing so fast recently. However, the development activities of domestic game development companies have been very week, which is mainly due to the lack of efficient and economical game development library solutions. This paper deals with how to implement 2D game library for SONY PSP game console that is very popular thesedays as a portable game console. We have ported the open source SDL library to PSP. Consequently, developers could develop games in PC environment and port it to PSP very easly based on the game library

  • Recently, the primary school training courses requires creative human being who is able to solve problem in accordance with rapidly changing society. Accordingly, it needs development of edutainment contents that can develop creativity and heighten educational effect as attracting learner's interest. This paper intends to design educational game which can develop creativity. Method of research is based on the concept of creativity and theory of multiple intelligence. First, I pulled out educational elements of edutainment game which can develop ability to solve synthetic problem and then drew interest elements of edutainment game by combined game with form of cartoon. Secondly, creativity studying area set the 5 learning area of verbal, visual, mathematical, logical and analytic creativity and then, a course of learning was designed to have each 3 details of 5 teaming areas of creativity. Finally, it presented production direction of educational game by combined with 4 elements of the interest that is an avatar, achievement of a mission, a time limit and win a point.

  • As internet populations are growing very fast, online computer game has been extensively propagated in the internet community. Currently online Baduk game haws id attention as one of the most popular games in Korea. Therefore, the game industry has developed a variety of Baduk games and internet services providers and portal sites have competitively provided Baduk game services. Considering this trend, this paper attempts to develop an evaluation model for online Baduk games, which can serve as a guideline for selecting the appropriate game by game users. In addition, this evaluation has been applied to the 2 best known Baduk games and compared each other based on the model factors. Finally, this paper suggest some practical guidelines for game developers in order to increase user acceptance.

Development of a Computer Game "Ecopoly" for Education on Relationship between Environment and Economy

  • It is necessary for humans who have been facing environmental problems to build a sustainable society in which economic activities coexist with nature. To realize such goals, it is essential to promote and enhance environmental education, and to raise global awareness of environmental issues. As a preceding study, a board game "Ecopoly" based on the Kyoto protocol and the estate dealings game, was developed and the validity of environmental education was verified. This study further aims to develop a computer game "Ecopoly", based on the board game which enables us to learn the relationship between environmental problems and economic activities, and to learn more about environmental problems. This computer game enables to concentrate on it by automatic complicated calculations, and to get a higher visual effect compared with the board game. Experimental testing of the game was conducted with 13 college student subjects, and the validity of the game was verified.

  • The progress of the game engine make us easier to develop a game product and it is possible for one man to make a game. This means that if you have ideas about game, you can make a game as you thought only if you know how to design a game. Because the game designing is not the field that may not be used like tools and could not buy like graphical data. This study, based on the practice, presented to the understanding and guidance for people who want to know about game designing such as no experienced person and starting new game design. These contributions are supported by a detailed exploration of common understandings of game design methods so that I expect to help designing or managing the project.

  • We present the computer table tennis game using player's swing motion. We need to transform a real world coordinate into a virtual world coordinate in order to hit the virtual ball. We can not get a correct 3-dimension position of racket in environment that using one camera or simple image processing. Therefore we use Augmented Reality (AR) concept to develop the game. This paper shows the AR table tennis game using gesture and method to develop the 3D interaction game that only using one camera without any motion detection device or stereo cameras. Also, we use a scan line method to recognize gesture for speedy processing. The game is developed using ARtoolkit and DirectX that is popular tool of SDK for game development.
