  • In this paper, we propose an efficient edge preserving smoothing filter for Infrared image that can reduce noise while preserving edge information. Infrared images suffer from low signal-to-noise ratio, low edge detail information and low contrast. So, detail enhancement and noise reduction play crucial roles in infrared image processing. We first apply a guided image filter as a local analysis. After the filtering process, we optimization globally using relativity of guided image filter. Our method outperforms the previous methods in removing the noise while preserving edge information and detail enhancement.

  • Image denoising is considered as a key factor for capturing high-quality photos in digital cameras. Thus far, several image denoising methods have been proposed in the past decade. In addition, previous studies either relied on deep learning-based approaches or used the hand-crafted filters. Unfortunately, the previous method mostly emphasized on image denoising regardless of preserving or recovering the detail information in result images. This study proposes an detail extraction network to estimate detail information from a noisy input image. Moreover, the extracted detail information is utilized to enhance the final denoised image. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can outperform the existing works by a subjective measurement.

  • Recently, filtering methods for attenuating noise while preserving image details are in progress actively. And SM(standard median) fille. showed a great performance for noise removal in impulse noise environment but, it caused edge cancellation error So, variable methods that modified SM(standard median)filter have been proposed, and CWM(center weighted median) filter is representative. Also, there are several methods to improve the efficiency based on min/max operation in term of preserving detail and filtering speed. In this paper, we managed a pixel corrupted by impulsive noise using min/max value of the surrounding band enclosing a pixel, and compared the efficiency with exiting methods in the simulation.

  • Recently high dynamic range imaging technique is hot issue in computer graphic area. We present a progressive tone mapping algorithm, which is based on weighted least squares optimization framework. Our approach combines weighted leastsquaresfiltering with iCAM06, for showing more perceptual high dynamic range images in conventional display, while avoiding visual halo artifacts. We decompose high dynamic range image into base layer and detail layer. The base layer has large scale variation, it is obtained by using weighted least squares filtering, and then the base layer incorporates iCAM06 model. Then, adaptive compression on the base layer according to human visual system. Only the base layer reduces contrast, and preserving detail. The resultshows more perceptual color appearance and preserve fine detail, while avoiding common artifacts.

  • This paper looks into how to preserve Gyeongju's natural environment and to restore its historic landscaping works, one of the greate factor that compose ancient city as a way of wisely preserving Gyeongju, one of the oldest cities of Korea. Gyeongju, a city based in its natural environment, is formated inside of a basin of mountains and streams. Mountains and streams are the major two factors when on thinks of preserving the ancient city of Gyeongju. Four mountains surrounding the city play a direct role in marking coordinates of major city landmarks, while streams influence the structure and formation of the city in a great deal. More precisely, mountains should be able to be seen from the center of the city and streams should be restored in a way that they can serve as scenic identities of their time. Efforts should also be put into restoring such elements as ancient gardens, royal forests and water ways. The research team believes that such efforts themselves will be a great methods in reclaiming historic values and significance of places of Gyeongju. Restoring an ancient city is not limited merely restoring a city in an artificial concept, it reaches to preserving natural environment as a backdrop of the city and traces of landscaping works. When it comes to restoring an ancient city, one must understand that preserving natural environment and historic landscaping works are as valuable as restoring city structure or constructional elements. We believe that defining subjects of ancient city restoration must be more precise, clear and detail down the road.

  • The k-means clustering algorithm groups input data with the number of groups represented by variable k. In fact, this algorithm is particularly useful in market segmentation and medical research, suggesting its wide applicability. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving clustering algorithm that is appropriate for outsourced encrypted data, while exposing no information about the input data itself. Notably, our proposed model facilitates encryption of all data, which is a large advantage over existing privacy-preserving clustering algorithms which rely on multi-party computation over plaintext data stored on several servers. Our approach compares homomorphically encrypted ciphertexts to measure the distance between input data. Finally, we theoretically prove that our scheme guarantees the security of input data during computation, and also evaluate our communication and computation complexity in detail.

  • Recently, various display products are being applied to automobiles. In the process of acquiring an image from a display product, a large amount of additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) is generated. Generally known denoising techniques focus on removing noise, so detailed components including image information are proportionally lost in the process of removing noise. The algorithm proposed in this paper proposes a method to effectively remove noise while preserving the detail of image information.

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-scale high dynamic range (HDR) tone mapping algorithm using guided image filter (GIF). The GIF is used to divide an image into a base layer and a detail layer, then the range of the detail layer is reduced with a compression function to enhance the detail information of the image. However, in most cases, an image includes the detail and edge information in different scales. That is to say, it is difficult to represent all detail features under a certain scale, and a single-scale image decomposition method is not free from artifacts around edges. To solve the problems, the multi-scale image decomposition method is proposed. It utilizes the detail layers of several scale to determine how much edge is preserved. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm has better image performance in preserving edge compared to conventional algorithm.

  • In the satellite image fusion, the most important point is to preserve both the spatial detail of panchromatic(PAN) image and the spectral information of multispectral(MS) image. Among various image fusion techniques, fusion technique using Intensity-Hue-Saturation(IHS) transform is widely used and it has advantage that computation is very simple. In this study, a fusion technique using fast IHS transform and trade-off parameter $\alpha^i$ proposed. Proposed fusion technique permits customization of the trade-off between the spectral information and spatial detail quality of the fused image through the evaluation of two quality indices: a spectral index(the spectral ERGAS) and a spatial one(the spatial ERGAS). Based on the result of experiment using IKONOS image, we confirmed the proposed fusion technique was more effective in preserving spatial detail and spectral information than existing fusion techniques using fast IHS transform.
