  • Currently, 230 domestic tourist destinations have been designated, established, and operated in accordance with the Tourism Promotion Act. According to the results of preceding research, more than 30% of them have been getting into the stagnation or decline stage. This is becoming a burden to local governments operating and managing tourist destinations, making it necessary to seek resolution measures. Thus, this study determined the activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration to deal with problems of domestic stagnant or declined tourist destinations and also to regenerate rational and sustainable tourist destinations. This study conducted a survey with experts based on causes for stagnation and decline of domestic tourist destinations suggested by preceding research. Based on the survey results, the activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration were drawn through the Delphi Technique and Analytic Hierarchy Process. And then the priority and weight of the drawn activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration were drawn for the sake of reasonable project progress of tour site regeneration. In the results of the analysis, as activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration, a total of seven upper-attributes, 23 sub-attributes, and 66 detailed-elements were drawn. It would be possible to raise the efficiency of projects and rational decision-making when executing future tourist destinations regeneration projects by using the activation elements drawn. Also, the drawn elements could be applied to the actual tourist destinations regeneration projects as measures for the stagnant/declined domestic tourist destinations' contribution to the vitalization of local economy based on sustainability, prohibition of thoughtless development of domestic tourism projects, and also efficient use of tourism resources.

  • This paper shows light on the concept of smart tourism destination as a future of tourism development, especially in the context of problems associated with developing countries. This study substantiates the case of smart tourism development in mountain destinations as an affordable and needed future of the contemporary era. This conceptual study is based on secondary literature on Smart Cities, Smart Tourism Destinations, and Tourism in Himachal Pradesh. The Indian state of Himachal Pradesh has been considered as a study area to acknowledge major tourism-related challenges, especially in mountain locations. Consequently, the dots are connected between existing challenges and solutions that smart tourism holds. It turns out that for the development of mountain tourism destinations such as Himachal Pradesh in the Indian Himalayas, investments in smart infrastructure are required. By developing smart infrastructure, a new USP can be made, a supportive environment for new local businesses, new employment opportunities, enhanced tourist experience and an overall raised standard of living for locals. Considering all factors, it leads to a highly competitive tourism destination. All tourism destinations located in the Himalayan mountains show somewhat the same tourism challenges as Himachal Pradesh, India. Therefore, this paper brightens the path of destination planners towards the development agenda of smart tourism destinations and shows how smart tourism infrastructure can be deployed for better management of tourism destinations.

Results - According to the analysis result of spa destination image similarity, the stress level was 0.16453 and the level of the stress was good. Moreover, the coefficient of determination (RSQ) was, which had a description of each aspect of the spa destination, 0.79908. According to the results of attribute recognition, the stress value of 0.11805 represents a degree of conformity, and the coefficient of determination(RSQ) appeared at 0.98665. Therefore, the results of this analysis are that the similarities between spa destinations and the attribute recognition of the spa destinations is a suitable model that is properly expressed in two dimensions. Conclusions - First, according to the analysis result of image similarity, Deoksan & Dogo spa revealed similar images, as well as the Dongrae and Yuseong spa, while on the contrary Asan, Bomun, Suanbo spa has different images from the rest. • The purpose of this research is to investigate the impacts of gen-Z's perception of consumer-generated content on social media on their travel intention with the mediating role of travel motivation push and pull. An online questionnaire survey of a total of 369 samples was conducted with the participation of gen Z in the most important cities across Vietnam. The model was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS program 22 to investigate model relationships and all hypotheses are significant. The findings indicated that gen Z values the usefulness of social media and they use social media for knowledge-seeking (push factor), and this leads to their intention to visit a destination. SEM analysis also reveals that gen Z tends to use social media to find accessibility to any destinations and they are motivated highly with destinations that have clear and easy access, for example, no visa requirement or neighboring destinations. As the result, they have better intentions to visit these destinations. This research will help marketers, especially marketing specialists to gain a better understanding of gen Z, thus implement better marketing techniques to target gen Z.

  • Recently, medical tourism is recognized as a high value-added industry because of its longer period of stay and higher expenditure than general tourism. In particular, although the number of medical tourists visiting Korea is increasing, the perception of Korean medical services is low. The purpose of this paper is to develop the app which, based on medical tourism type, recommends tourism destinations. Additionally, this proposed app can expand general tourism as well. It can provide tourists with medical information easily by sorting types tourists. Besides, as medical tourists normally stay long, we can take the advantage of post-treatment time. This app collects medical information data and tourist destination data, and categorizes the types of medical tourists into four categories: disease medical tourism, traditional medical tourism, cosmetic medical tourism, and recreational medical tourism. It provides medical information according to each type and recommends customized tourist destinations. User-based collaborative filtering is applied for tourist destination recommendations.

  • Smart tourism research and development have mainly focused on the benefits of smart tourism technologies to certain stakeholders with transactional relationships in destinations. However, smart technologies in destinations could also cause several negative outcomes, leading to social, ethical, and moral issues. Such issues arise from the power imbalance between different stakeholders of smart tourism development. To mitigate the adverse effects of smart technologies, destinations need to enunciate the essential moral and ethical principles when developing smart tourism. Therefore, adopting descriptive and normative approaches to stakeholder theory, this paper proposes a framework to showcase several methods to address the issues.

  • The purpose of this paper is to devise a user management plan for tourism destinations in parts of park and open green spaces to prevent resource damage through depreciative behavior by tourists. Also, the possibility of the introduction of user management has been considered in order to complement this in these kinds of park and open green spaces. As explained in prior results, tourists have had the opportunity of taking part in many experiences which furnish cultural and historical information, but have never had experiences which furnish information in utilization and management such as prohibited behavior at tourism destinations, responsibility for damage, etc. The furnishing of information on utilization and management plays an important role in understanding responsibility in resource damage. For example, groups who have been given information on utilization and management appear to be much more responsible toward resources and environmental damage. For this reason, this must be a very important element for preventing damaging behavior at tourism destinations. Tourists can be made to understand that tourism destinations can be very seriously damaged by users. In order to control these damaging behaviors which occur from other users and to meet the needs of the tourism destinations being visited, it is necessary to establish a user management plan.
