The number of international tourists is noticeably recovering in many parts of the world, with the number of Vietnamese tourists growing significantly. Consequently, this study aims to identify the factors influencing the image of Vietnam's tourist destinations among international tourists interested in visiting the country. Additionally, the study examines whether the perception formed in this manner subsequently affects their intention to visit. The findings reveal that cultural attractions and eWOM (Electronic Word of Mouth) positively influence the development of a tourism destination image. However, film tourism did not have a significant effect on the destination image. Moreover, it was observed that the destination image indeed influences the intention to visit.

The study aims to assess the impact of destination image, satisfaction and loyalty of tourists at mountain destinations in Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam. The study involves questionnaire surveys and multivariate data analysis methods (Cronbach Alpha test, EFA, CFA, SEM). Research results from 500 tourists in the mountain destinations of Thanh Hoa province demonstrate that all factors have imposed a positive impact on tourist satisfaction, specifically: The most influential factor is Natural features, followed by Human factors while the least influential factor is Infrastructure; On the other hand, research results also demonstrate that satisfaction has a substantial impact on tourist loyalty. Based on the research results, we also proposed some key solutions to enhance the destination image, thereby contributing to increased satisfaction and loyalty of tourists, including: (i) Promoting Natural Tourism Resources. (ii) Raising Awareness of Environmental Protection. (iii) Building Local Cultural Identity. (iv) Building Exclusive Tourist Products. (5) Strengthening the Support of Local Authorities for Tourism Activities. (vi) Developing a Price Policy.
This study investigated Seoul's image as a tourism destination that Chinese tourists perceived, taking advantage of Chinese Social Media "Renren". The study used visual method (V-method) to collect images and analyzed them in terms of convergent disciplinary approach. It searched Chinese word, "首爾", in Renren social network. 526 Seoul's photos were collected from 129 users' mini-homepage. Destination planners and marketers should understand how the Chinese tourists perceive the Seoul's image and recognize the contribution factors to representations of the city. It is recommended that more cultural experience should be offered to Chinese tourists.
This study is to analyse which tourism marketing communication influences on the tourism destination brand equity. Three factors of advertising, publicity, and the words of mouth of tourism destinations were set as tourism marketing communication in order to understand effects of tourism marketing communication on tourism destination brand equity, and tourism destination brand equity was deducted as three factors of brand awareness, brand image, and brand loyalty in order to understand each influential relationship. As a result of empirical analysis, advertising and publicity of tourism destination have positive influence on brand image and words of mouth about tourism destination has positive influence on all brand awareness and brand image. Brand awareness and brand image both have significant effect on brand loyalty, and it was verified that words of mouth about tourism destination among factors of tourism marketing communication has the highest influence.

Promotional videos have been increasingly adopted in social media marketing. Given that video production incurs high costs, evaluating the effectiveness of promotional videos is necessary. This research examines the effect of promotional video on visit intention through affective and cognitive destination images, respectively. Furthermore, grounded in the theoretical reasoning of social ties and persuasive intent, the effects of promotional videos disseminated by different sources (i.e., unknown users, friends, and marketers) are compared. Two experimental studies were carried out with 200 participants in Study 1 and 243 participants in Study 2. Study 1 revealed that the presence of promotional video induces visit intention through affective and cognitive destination images. Study 2 found that promotional videos disseminated by friends (versus unknown users) are more effective to induce visit intention because of positive cognitive destination image, while the video effects are indifferent between marketers and users. Meaningful implications are provided for destination marketers.
Purpose - As a leading source of foreign exchange and investment, tourism has grown in importance as a component of international trade. Accordingly, in recent decades much attention has been directed toward attracting foreign tourists and, in turn, positively affecting the recommendation intentions of foreign tourists. Despite such interests, there remains a dearth of empirical research on this issue. Moreover, prior research has focused primarily on the simple main effect of a certain factor on recommendation intentions. Therefore, the present study aims to (1) investigate the effect of overall satisfaction on the recommendation intentions of foreign tourists, and (2) examine the potential moderating effects of personal factors (i.e., age and destination image) on the association between overall satisfaction and recommendation intention. Design/methodology - Using a moderated moderation analysis of the data drawn from the 2018 International Visitor Survey conducted by the Korea Tourism Organization, this study proposes the three-way interaction effects of overall satisfaction, age, and destination image on recommendation intention. Findings - The findings of the study indicate that overall satisfaction is positively associated with recommendation intention and this relationship becomes stronger among younger tourists. The findings further indicate that the moderating effect of age on the relationship between overall satisfaction and recommendation intention depends on changes in the image of the destination. Specifically, the destination image exerts a positive moderating impact on the influence of age that moderates the overall satisfaction and recommendation intention relationship. Originality/value - Considering that the tourism economy has been severely affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic, this study contributes to a more accurate understanding of the factors affecting the recommendation intention, especially in times of crisis.
This study investigated what type of destination image on Facebook increases positive attitude towards the destination and desire to travel. More specifically, we hypothesized that Facebook user's public self-consciousness will moderate the advertising effect, so we tested the difference in attitude towards the destination and willingness to visit and recommend based on the type of destination image (presence/absence of a tourist in the image) and user's public self-consciousness (high/low). As a result, when a tourist was present in the photo, positive attitude toward destination was higher than when absent. In addition, the high public self-consciousness group showed greater attitude toward destination and higher willingness to visit and recommend than low public self-consciousness group when a tourist was present in the image. However, the low public self-consciousness group showed no difference depending on the presence of a tourist. This research not only is academically significant as it experimentally tested advertising effect depending on type of destination image and Facebook user's public self-consciousness, but also holds practical significance as it suggests advertisement method to consider consumer's predisposition.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Brand Personality to Marine Tourism Destination Images and Intention to Recommend. For this purpose, factor analysis was applied to 42 of J.Aaker's Brand Personality Scale and 5 personality dimensions were extracted. This analysis was also applied for cognitive and affective images and two of cognitive images and three of affective images were extracted. Multiple regression was done to estimate the relative effects of Brand Personality to both cognitive and affective images and intention to recommend. The results indicated brand personality influenced on both cognitive and affective images and intention to recommend directly and also found affective images was influenced by cognitive images. The results also suggested useful insight for future study. The Brand Personality Scale which developed for the product by Aaker might not be suitable for measuring the marine tourism destination brand personality and necessary to develop the new scale suitable for marine tourism destination personality, and be needed to study together with other moderating variance such as satisfaction and congruency with image to verifying the exact effect between different variables.

Global(mega) event has increased throughout the 1990s, with the biggest surge occurring in the Asia-Pacific region. Along with this upward trend, competition for more desirable tourists is also surging, so destinations cannot be complacent (Getz, 1997). Event is appearing as the powerful method in the fierce competition around the industry. International events like 99 Hanam Environment Expo have been held annually in Korea since 1991 in which the local government system started. The main roles of event are to enhance the image of communities and attract tourists (Kotler and Haider and Rein, 1993), to strengthen destination attractiveness as drawing power (Mill and Morrison, 1985), and so on. Focused on the destination image, the research (Sirakaya and Sheppard and McLellan, 1997) about the effect of perceived safety at a potential vacation destination showed that destination marketers, travel agents, and hospitality industry members should be concerned with improving their images when such images are negative with regard to safety. Event industry in Korea does not seriously recognize the importance of the safety management against accidents known for tarnishing the destination images. Moreover few safety standards or studies for event industry can be found. This paper investigated the safety factors considered by visitors of 99 Hanam Environment Expo and analyzed the correlation between the safety factors and the demographic characteristics of the visitors.
