The purpose of this study is to investigate domestic and foreign fashion sock design trends and suggest a proposal for competitive fashion sock design developments. The methods of this study are undertaken by literature review and design trend analysis. For the design trend analysis, in the case of domestic cases, 209 pictures from 7 brands, and in the case of foreign cases, 870 pictures from 10 brands are being chosen. In terms of analysis criteria, the colors, patterns, lengths and images of both the domestic and foreign socks are being compared. As a result, among the fashion foreign socks, more than 4 colors are the most common, and dark & dark grayish, strong & deep color tones are the most popular. Also, the stylized, geometrical patterns, and casual, cute and unique images are generally used. In the case of domestic fashion socks, 2 colors are the most common with vivid, strong & deep color tones as the most popular. Furthermore the patterns are limited to geometric patterns, and the images of socks are inclined to be too casual. To enhance the competitiveness of Korean sock designs, the variety of patterns and images are essential.

The aim of the study was to grasp the current trends and to predict the future trends of space composition characteristics by analyzing floorplans drawn by housewives as their ideal apartments. The content analysis method was used for this study. This research used data from a competition held in 1993 by a housing construction company. Among 3,102 floorplans collected 12,232 were selected by Proportional Stratified Sampling Method. The major findings are as follows; 1) Some major features were interpreted as current trends; respondents wanted new rooms that could accomodate various functions separated the private spaces from public trends; they wanted to expand the verandah both visually and actually put importance on the number of bathrooms and have the space for outdoor living and leisure activities.

This study deals with the technological trends in the automobile recycling technologies. It first discusses the importance and current situation of automobile recycling. And then it discusses the technological trends in automobile recycling industry classifying the technologies into three groups: disassemblying, recycling, and design. It deals with recycling of major parts of automobiles and the design of automobile for recyclability. This study also contains a patent analysis of the technologies. Different patterns in the trend of patents among various conn-tries are discussed with the context of legal and industrial situation of each country And finally it discusses the forecasting for the future technological and legislative trends.

Hair styles which independently coexist by transcending the time and space under the environment of highly developed information and communication technology of recent years, were analyzed. Moreover the concerned trends of art which influenced on these styles were introduced in this study. Through IT based information exchange produced new hair styles which have the technological images. The characteristics of these hair styles are investigated also. For the examination of yearly trends, hair styles in fashion collections of Yves Saint Larent during 1962 to 1999 were examined and classified. The results show that time variated trends are appeared in this period. For the analysis of the trends of hair styles featuring technological images, hair styles in fashion collection of Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel in the early 2000s are quoted.

special subjects, from basic data-building to applied design itself, and from how-why studies to theory building research. It seems that the research concerns are mainly the explanation of the processes of design projects rather than the application and expression of design theory and conceptual work itself. The articles do not show a clear trend or design concerns that would lead landscape architecture firms or its market. A few articles deal with aesthetical theory and with design criticism that could be one of landscape design's fundamental theories. It is not enough to regard the Journal of the Korean Institute of Landscape Architecture as the main stream of contemporary Korean landscape design trends. More research in the field of landscape design need to focus on pre-research work rather than on post-work reports. More research work in the field of landscape aesthetics is also required. The format of the journal needs to be reformed to include more design research papers that are of a free-presentation style in nature.

In this article, recent trends of technology in design of CNC system for machine tools which has increased in number and applications by needs for FA(Factory Automation), save of labor in various industries, are described. These technology improvements in CNC system take place especially in the field of performance, reliability, compactness, price, etc. From these technology improvements, the theme of "performance improvements of CNC system" are selected and mostly described in this article. Also, the major features of a CNC system product of our company and its characteristics in system design are briefly described.described.

자유경제가 기반이 된 생산체제 하에서 트랜드의 다양한 욕구충족을 위해 만들어진 현대 소비재의 변화는 사회, 문화 전반에 걸쳐서 여러 양상으로 전개되고 있다. 이 현상은 학문적으로나 기타 이론으로 규명하기 힘들 정도로 빠른 속도로 또한 다양하게 진행되고 있다. 이것은 과학과 정보통신의 발달에 기인한 인간 생활의 다원화된 가치관의 형성과 유관하다고 볼 수 있다. 현대인의 가치관의 다원화현상은 여러 다른 학문분야처럼 디자인에서도 다각도로 연구되어지고 있는데 그 중 개념적으로는 '포스트모더니즘 적이다'라고 하며 이때 포스트모더니즘이 시사하는 바는 기존의 개념(모더니즘)을 다원화 시켜 해체시킨 것을 의미하고 있다. 즉, 디자인분야에 나타나는 복합적이고 개념적인 결과물을 비롯하여 다양한 트랜드를 반영한 제품에 이르기까지 기존의 형태와 전혀 다른 상품들을 말하고 있는 것이다. 이와 같이 시대성을 적극적으로 반영하는 패키지디자인 분야는 다양한 기능을 활용할 수 있는 다기능의 형태로 기존의 특정한 디자인 분야라고 암묵적으로 정해 놓은 영역을 자유롭게 넘나드는 것이 현실이며 다른 분야 역시 그러하다고 사료되는데 흔히 '팬시제품'이라고 일컬어지는 분야에서 현저하게 나타난다. 어떠한 경우는 패키지디자인을 '패러디'하여 '제품화'시키는 예도 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 '현상'을 제품 디자인과 패키지디자인 영역간의 탈경계 현상이라고 보고 그러한 것을 실례를 중심으로 고찰하여 유추된 개념과 의미를 토대로 보다 폭 넓게 시대성을 반영한 패키지디자인으로 재조명되어야 한다.

The Korean government plans to introduce the building energy performance standard which regulates the annual energy consumption of buildings. This paper aimed to set up the reference building from database based on the building design trends for non-residential buildings. We surveyed the design data of 435 non-residential buildings which were granted building permission from 2007 to 2011. And we conducted estimation on the heating & cooling load and the energy consumption of the reference building using ECO2 program. From results, the reference building of non-residential buildings was office building which had a total 7 floors and $20,838m^2$ gross floor area. And it suggests the design reference data of building envelope, HAVC, heat source equipment and lighting system for the reference building. The total annual energy use of the reference building was $151.9kWh/m^2yr$.

This study is intended to understand the architectural characteristics and trends of general hospitals in Europe. The Observations, interviewes with the staff, and analyses of related materials were executed through the study-visits of sample hospitals. Some results of the study could be summarized as follows : (1) The architectural characteristics of sample hospitals could be described as the realization of horizontal design concept, application of urban design method, specialization of service departments, intergration of facility design, and planning for the emergency & disaster. (2) The architectural trends of sample hospitals could be suggested as the decentralization of functions, promotion of building standard, enhancement of interior space, consideration of environment, and autonomous management & operation of facilities. (3) The humanistic and environmental approaches from european hospitals would be preferably applicable rather than the popular concept of automation, ultra-modernization and mega-structure in Korea. First of all, the bed-center and proper facilities for disaster should be considered.
