DMI Display implemented as single layout based on ERTMS specification for Integrated Onboard Signaling System (통합 열차제어 신호시스템을 위한 단일 레이아웃의 ERTMS 기반 DMI 화면의 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of the DMI display based on ERTMS specification for the Integrated Onboard Signaling System (IOSS). IOSS is consists of ATS, ATC, and ATP based on ERTMS/ETCS Level 1. We propose an improved DMI display design which has single layout concept for the IOSS. When a train is in the ATS, ATC, or ATP railway section, it is protected by the ATS, ATC, or ATP equipment, respectively. Therefore, DMI should display the different information according to the each signaling system. We design DMI display implemented as single layout for ATP, ATS and ATC information. This single layout display has a well integrated look and feel using the ERTMS specification and layout. This is for the driver to perceive the information easily and not to experience inconvenience resulting from the sense of difference when the train crossed into the different signaling section. Finally, we show the implementation result following this concept.

Analytical study on safety factor of concrete pole installed in sloped ground (콘크리트 전주의 경사지 전도 안전율에 관한 해석 연구)

  • We analyzed the sloped ground safety factor, which is not presented in the design specification, using a computational analysis program L-Pile Plus 13.8. To achieve this we chose a required parameter set and a level ground safety factor presented in the design specification, and then determined its values comparing with the change of the safety factor according to the parameter. Using these parameters, we estimated the sloped ground safety factor for the slope of 35 degrees considering the improvement value of the slope presented in the design specification. As a result of this analysis, we obtained the smaller safety factor by about 0.7 times than the case of the level ground and verified that a number of concrete poles fail to assure 1 degree of the safety factor. We, therefore, concluded that an adjustment of the embedment depth is required in the case of the sloped ground.

  • In the bi-directional pile load test (BD PLT) for pile load test of Mega foundation, loading capacity specification were not specified exactly. Therefore there are so many confusions and variations of maximum 2 times in loading capacity are come out. In this study, specifications of bi-directional pile load test (BD PLT) were considered. Based on cases of the bi-directional pile load test performed in domestic areas, maximum equivalent test load, test load increasing ratio and sufficiency ratio of design load were analyzed. It can be known that the loading capacity specification of bi-directional pile load test must be defined as 1-directional test load that is established as more than 2 times of design load.

  • In this paper, we present simplified fault set which is made by analyzing fault relation to design specification in CMOS operational amplifier. The hard fault is easily modeled because an effect of hard fault is out of all design specification. However, the soft fault is not easily modeled because an effect of soft fault on design specification is varied according to position and depth of fault. We simulated hard and soft fault by HSPICE, varying threshold voltage and W/L ratio from 90% increase to 90% decrease. The decrease of test time and the production of high reliability mixed-mode IC are possible by the proposed fault set.

  • In this paper, we propose a software design method that will track the effects of modifications in a component to the rest of the components in the design phase. The prediction of the effects due to the design modifications before coding can be a valuable aid for the complex and large software development. Within the method, the target system is represented by the structured I/O system level specification which is one of the system representation level defined by the system theory. Then it is abstracted to the I/O system level. The DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) model is constructed based on tile I/O system level specification. Finally, the DEVS model is simulated to generate the behavior of the software by the abstract simulator in DEVS simulation environment. As an application, the graphic user interface system of a metal grating production scheduling system is presented.

  • This paper proposes a new design specification-based band fault modelling technique that can test design specification in a time domain. The band fault model is defined and the conditions of band fault model are gained as normal operation regions are defined. And the conditions of band fault model are used in a 5.25GHz low noise amplifier, then 9 band fault models that can detect hard and parametric faults of active and passive devices are obtained.

  • The architectural drawing, construction project specification, etc. are included in the contract of a documents. However, construction project specification, for being documentation, is not utilized to such an extent. The reason is that specification information is difficult in collecting information in relation to the architectural drawing, material finishing list and other architectural information. Therefore, an integrated model, which can be associated with other architectural information, is needed, and a DB based on this integrated model must be established in order for it to be utilized in design, construction, and management. The DB, which is established through this process, must be updated according to modification in design, and construction. Furthermore the specification must be in document on the web for reference. Consequently in this research, the structure of integrated model has been introduced, and it has made the search and preparation of the integrated model on the Internet, using the specification information DB established for the mutual reference of DB, possible. The improvements of construction project specification standards are expected by this system. Also, it will bring about Improvements upon claim prevention, and design, construction, management qualities. Furthermore, it will make the use of information more convenient in practical business such as order agency, design service and building site.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a design method for standardization of weapon information exchange between a weapon control computer of guided missile system and a high echelon command and control system. Because the weapon control computer based on diverse combat platforms is operated with several kinds of a high echelon system, it is necessary to provide a standardized design method for weapon information exchange between mutual system. In fact, it is possible to standardize a interface design specification of weapon information message because weapon information message is closely related to standard tactical data link message. It is essential that the interface design specification of weapon information is submitted to that of tactical data link information. It seems that this interface design specification is very useful in development process of the future weapon system.

  • Two-dimensional (2-D) digital filters are widely useful inn image processing and other 2-D digital signal processing fields, but designing 2-D filters is much more difficult than designing one-dimensional (1-D) ones. This paper provides a new insight into the existing singular value decomposition (SVD)-based design approach in the sense that the SVD-based design can be performed more efficiently by exploiting the symmetries of the given 2-D magnitude specifications. By using the specification symmetries. only half of the 1-D filters (sub-filters) need to be designed. which significantly simplifies the design process and reduces the computer storage required for 1-D sub-filter coefficients. Another novel point of this paper si that an objective criterion is proposed for selecting appropriate sub-filter orders in order to reduce the hardware implementation cost. A design example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the SVD-based design approach by exploiting specification symmetry and new order-selecting criterion.

  • In this study nonlinear FEM analysis for steel pylon base of a cable supported bridge is performed in order to compare the results of Akashi-Kaikyo bridge's design specification established in 1970. Due to convenience of its application, the Akashi grand bridge's design specification has been applied to the base design of cable stayed bridges. It has been using linear spring in order to model prestressed high tensioned bars between steel pylon bottom plates and the base concrete. However, the results of nonlinear FEM analysis revealed that the Akashi-Kaikyo bridge's design specification has various problems in the analysis of the steel pylon base. And the steel pylon base has various complex members connecting with each other, and it is main member to resist against the wind load or the earthquake load. Therefore, the nonlinear FEM analysis has to be conducted in order to predict the behavior of steel pylon base exactly. Also, the nonlinear FEM analysis is more reasonable for the load and resistant factor design.
