An Experimental Study on the Pull-Out Behaviors of Headed GFRP Rebar in Mortar (정착판 GFRP 근(Rebar)의 모르타르 인발거동에 관한 시험연구)

  • This paper presents the pull-out behaviors of headed glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebar embedded in mortar under tension loading. Five specimens with headed GFRP rebars that were anchored in the center of mortar bases were constructed and the pull-out test was conducted. To verify the test results, the finite element analysis was conducted and the results were compared with the FE analysis using ANSYS software package. Based on the test results it was indicated that the CCD(concrete capacity design) failure theory should be adopted and not to use the 45o cone failure theory as the breakout capacity in the headed GFRP rebar embedded in mortar.

4S-Van: A Prototype Mobile Mapping System for GIS

  • The design of Graphic Information System(GIS) in various applications is suffering from the difficulty of data acquisition, which is labor-intensive and time consuming. In order to provide the spatial data rapidly and accurately, 4S-Van, a prototype mobile mapping system, has been developed. The 4S-Van consists of 1)Global Positioning System(GPS), Inertial Navigation System(INS) for estimating the geographic position and attitude of the moving van, i.e.,(x, y, z) and the direction of the Van, 2) Charge Coupled Device(CCD) camera and laser scanner for capturing images and for measuring depth from geographic objects, and 3) External Synchronization Device(ESD) and industrial PC for synchronizing data from GPS/INS/CCD camera and for storing the data. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of the proto-Dpe 4S-Van system for spatial data acquisition for various GIS applications.

  • The purpose of this paper is to perform the structural design of the small scale vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT) blade using a response surface method(RSM). First, the four design factors that have a strong influence on the structural response of blade were selected. Analysis conditions were calculated by using the central composite design(CCD), which is a typical design of experiment for the response surface method(RSM). Also, the significance of the central composite design(CCD) was verified using analysis of variance(ANOVA). The finite element analysis was performed for the selected analytical conditions for the application of response surface method(RSM). Finally, a optimization problem was solved with a objective function of blade weight and a constraint of allowable stress to achieve a optimal structural design of blade.

  • The influence of fluorescence, scattering, and absorbance in turbid material by light scattering was interpreted by the scattered fluorescence intensity and wavelength. The effect of optical property in scattering media was investigated. It is very important to study the charge coupled device(CCD) in spectrometry because we can use the molecular energy level, molecular structure, absorption or emission, intermolecular reaction, weakly bound molecular energy, photochemistry, fluorescence and photodynamic therapy. CCD is very essential to study the molecular structure and medical engineering combined laser spectroscopy in the modem physical and chemistry. Accordingly, this study has designed and manufactured the electromagnetic spectrometry with CCD, and has analyzed the hematoporphyrin derivative.

  • In these days, as it frequently happens that water level in the river exceeds the design floods due to irregular heavy rainfall, so it is required, first of an, to manage with railroad bridge safely. Because train control criterion under heavy rainfall is still not prepared and automatic flood monitoring system for railroad bridges is not used, worry over invisible economic loss due to train passage delay is in existence. Therefore, it is important to secure the safety and detect the risk like turnover or failure of railroad bridges through systematic disaster prevention system. And the transition from conventional monitoring method to real time monitoring method supported by sensors and communication system with high technology is rapidly needed. This research is on developing the real time flood monitoring system which prevents railroad disasters in advance by detecting continuously the water level of railroad bridge through CCD camera and water level gauge.

  • In this paper, we proposed to the inspection algorithm for cap, Electric fuse is an over current and circuit protection device which is occurred in electric & electronic appliance. Also the fuse are protection the second hazard at arc etc. Fuse are interest regarding a safety increased. Consequently, the fuse came to be very important. Cap inspection algorithm is designed for the cap of fuse. CCD camera is monitering the solder of cap distribution map. The conditioning of fuse cap; suming all searching data with non solder area. the area is bigger reference data then the cap is bad cap.

  • 중수로(CANDU) 형 월성 원자력발전소의 칼란드리아 압력관 전면부를 감시점검하기 위한 열영상 관측시스템을 설계/제작하였다. 중수로는 가동중에 핵연료를 교체한다. 칼란드리아 전면부에는 380 개의 압력관 채널이 위치하고 있다. 핵연료를 교체할 시에 핵연료 교체장비가 칼란드리아 압력관 채널의 ENDCAP을 열고 핵연료를 장전하는 과정에서 발생할 지도 모르는 중수누출, 핵연료교체장비의 이상상태를 점검하는데 목적이 있다. 열영상카메라는 상용 CCD 카메라에 비해 영상의 해상도가 떨어진다. CCD 카메라는 수증기 누출과 같은 육안검사에 활용하고, 열영상카메라는 압력관 채널의 온도변화 등을 점검하기 위해 CCD/열영상카메라의 융합구조로 설계/제작하였다.

Assessment of Fracture Behaviors for CIP Anchors Fastened to Cracked and Uncracked Concretes

  • This paper presents the crack effect on CIP anchors and prediction of tensile capacity, as governed by concrete cone failure. Single anchors where located at center of concrete specimen. Three different types of cracks such as crack width of 0.2 mm and 0.5 mm, crack depth of 10 cm and 20cm , and crack location of center and off-center point were simulated. Static tensile load was applied to 7/8-in. CIP anchors of 10 cm and 20 cm embedment length in concrete with compressive strength of 280 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$. Tested pullout capacities were compared to the values determined using current design methods (such as ACI 349-97, ACI 349 revision and CEB-FIP which is based on CCD Method). The comparison of CCD Method and ACI revision showed almost the same values in uncracked concrete specimen. In cracked concrete, CCD Method predicted conservative values. Three-dimensional non-linear FEM modeling also has been performed to determine the stresses distribution and crack inclination.

  • A fast and precise technique to measure 3-dimensional coordinates of an object is proposed. It is essential to take the 3-dimensional measurements of the object in design and inspection. Using this developed system a surface model of a complex shape can be constructed. 3-dimensional world coordinates are projected onto a camera plane by the perspective transformation, which plays an important role in this measurement system. According to the shape of the object two measuring methods are proposed. One is rotation of an object and the other is translation of measuring unit. Measuring speed depending on image processing time is obtained as 200 points per second. Measurement resolution i sexperimented by two parameters among others; the angle between the laser beam plane and the camera, and the distance between the camera and the object. As a result of these experiments, it was found that measurement resolution ranges from 0.3mm to 1.0mm. This constructed surface model could be used in manufacturing tools such as rapid prototyping machine.

  • SONY corporation preoccupies $80\%$ of a market of the CCD used in a CCTV system. The CCD of SONY have high duality which can not follow the progress of capability. But there are some problems which differ the clock frequency used in CCD from the frequency used in common video encoder. To get the result by using common video encoder, the system needs a scaler that could adjust image size and PLL that synchronizes CCD's with encoder's clock So, this paper proposes the video encoder that is activated at equal clock used in CCD without scaler and PLL. The encoder converts ITU-R BT.601 4:2:2 or ITU-R BT.656 inputs from various video sources into NTSC or PAL signals in CVBS. Due to variable clock, property of filters used in the encoder is automatically changed by clock and filters adopt multiplier-free structures to reduce hardware complexity. The hardware bit width of programmable digital filters for luminance and chrominance signals, along with other operating blocks, are carefully determined to produce hish-quality digital video signals of ${\pm}1$ LSB error or less. The proposed encoder is experimentally demonstrated by using the Altera Stratix EP1S80B953C6ES device.
