This study is a descriptive survey research to investigate the effect of parental bring-up attitude on child abuse awareness among college students. Data were collected using structured questionnaires about parental acceptance-rejection questionnaire, child abuse awareness and child abuse knowledge tool from 272 students attending one university located in A city from April 16 to 30, 2019, and were analyzed using t-test, One-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple regression. The results of the study are as follows. First, child abuse awareness of the subjects were found that there was a significant difference according to gender, grade, number of siblings, level of knowledge about child abuse. Second, parental indifference/neglect attitude showed a negative correlation with child abuse awareness. Third, in relation to child abuse awareness, the explanatory power of gender, grade, number of siblings, knowledge level about child abuse, and parental bring-up attitude was 14.3%, and grade, number of siblings, knowledge level about child abuse, and parental indifference/neglect attitude were significant factors. The results of this study can be used as a major intervention strategy in the development of programs to improve child abuse awareness for college students through systematic and practical understanding.
This study is a descriptive research designed to determine the effects of nurses' image and major satisfaction on nursing students' career identity. For this purpose, the study made a questionnaire survey of 117 nursing students attending at K college located B city. Data collected from the survey were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, participants showed significant differences in nursing students' career identity on grade and motivation of entrance. Second, there were correlations between nurses' image and nursing students' career identity and also between their major satisfaction and career identity. Third, nursing students' career identity was influenced by their relationship satisfaction between professors and students, which are sub-factors of major satisfaction, but nurses' image did not influenced their career identity. Therefore it is needed to provide nursing students with educational and interventive programs that help their better their relationship satisfaction between professors and students, continuous attention and guidance are necessary to facilitate communication and career guidance between professors and students.
This descriptive research is to find communication ability, general and social self-efficacy, and academic achievement in peer collaboration subject of nursing freshmen. The data were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 19.0. The communication ability was higher in the extroverts and high discussion preference ones(p=.01), females' social self-efficacy were higher than males'(p=.03), the general and social self-efficacy of the 'introverted' and 'middle' groups were higher than the extroverts'(p=.01). The social self-efficacy on the 'middle high', 'middle' and 'middle low' of self-evaluated school grades groups were higher than 'high' one's, even the academic achievement of 'high' group was the most(p=.01). There were negative correlations between communication ability and self-efficacy, and between social self-efficacy and academic achievement. And social self-efficacy affected on the academic achievement in peer collaboration subject($R^2=0.058$, p<.05). These results can be used as a basis for developing guidelines of nursing freshmen who have to complete a lot of theoretical and practical courses in university.
Purpose : This study aimed to present the incidence of pressure ulcers and identify different associated factors according to the time of occurrence of pressure ulcers in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Methods : The participants were 313 patients who reported pressure ulcers among 2,908 patients in ICUs at a large tertiary hospital in Gyeonggi-do. Among them, 220 patients (70.3%) had a pressure ulcer before admission, and 93 patients (29.7%) reported newly developed pressure ulcers after admission to the ICU. Data were collected between August 2018 and April 2019. Along with the time of occurrence and characteristics of pressure ulcers, diverse associated factors were gathered through electronic medical records. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, and 𝑥2-tests. Results : Different risk factors associated with pressure ulcers in ICU patients according to the time of occurrence were main diagnosis, score of acute physiology and chronic health evaluation, score of Richmond agitation sedation scale, level of consciousness, administered sedatives, use of a ventilator, insertion of a feeding tube, and the duration of fasting period. Conclusion : Based on the results of this study, healthcare providers, especially ICU nurses, should try to detect early signs and symptoms of pressure ulcers, taking into account the derived factors associated with pressure ulcers in ICU patients. Practical intervention programs and strategies considering the factors associated with pressure ulcers must be developed to prevent and alleviate such ulcers in ICU patients in the future.
In this study, the actual condition of ultrasound examination was conducted for radiological technologist working across the country. The measuring tool of the study was a questionnaire, and it was targeted to radiological technologist engaged in ultrasound examination at medical institutions located across the country from February 01 to July 31, 2021. In consideration of the COVID-19 situation, 431 questionnaires suitable for research were analyzed using the SPSS/PC Ver 18.0 program using email and SNS in a non-face-to-face manner. The general characteristics of study subjects, ultrasound examination job characteristics, and job satisfaction factors were analyzed using descriptive statistics. As a result of analyzing the job characteristics of radiological technologist who perform ultrasound examination as overall job satisfaction, the overall job satisfaction was 3.30 ± 0.56. The job satisfaction level of radiological technologist performing ultrasound examinations was higher than the average of 3.0 points, indicating a higher job satisfaction level than the average. Since insurance coverage for ultrasound examinations started, many radiological technologists have been very interested in ultrasound examination work. Therefore, the Korean radiological technologists of Association and radiological technolgists engaged in ultrasound examination more attention and effort should be put into strengthening professionalism.
The purpose of this study was to determine the hierarchical linear relationship among receptivity to organizational change, individual variables of professors and organizational variables in junior colleges. The population for this study was 12,920 professors in 139 junior colleges. Using random sampling method considering subject, 800 professors in 40 colleges were sampled for this study. The data were collected from May 26 to June 13. A total of 445 out of 800 questionnaires were returned of which 441 of 40 junior colleges were used for analysis after data cleaning. These data were analyzed by both descriptive statistics and One-way ANOVA with Random Effects, Ranmdom-Coefficients Regression Model, and Intercepts-and Slopes-as-Outcomes Model of hierarchical linear model(HLM). All data analysis was accomplished using the SPSS 20.0 for windows program and the HLM 6.0 for windows program. An alpha level of 0.05 was established priori for determining the significance. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the level of receptivity to organizational change of professions in junior college was 3.94. Second, 56.5% of total variance in receptivity to organizational change was individual level variance. 43.5% of total variance in receptivity to organizational change was organizational level variance. Third, personal valence about organizational change, psychological ownership, experience of assignment, years of service and job security had positive effects on receptivity to organizational change while years of service had negative effects on receptivity to organizational change. The effect of personal valence about organizational change was highest, and the effect of job security was lowest. Fourth, degree of organizational change, participative decision-making, group culture and accessibility of information related to organizational change had positive effects on receptivity to organizational change. The effect of degree of organizational change was highest, and the effect of accessibility of information related to organizational change was lowest.

This study was conducted to provide basic data for prevention of osteoporosis by examining the factors affecting bone mineral density in pregnant mothers. This investigation was a descriptive research study that analyzed a total of 137 medical records. Differences in T-score between general and obstetric characteristics were assessed by independent t-tests and one way ANOVA followed by Scheffe's post-hoc test. The mean age of the subjects was 32.4 years and the mean T-score was 0.34. The BMI measured at 4 weeks after delivery was significantly higher in the underweight group than in the normal group and the overweight group (F=11.935, p<.001). The BMD was significantly higher in subjects with sufficient vitamin D than in subjects with insufficient vitamin D, in subjects with insufficient vitamin D than in subjects with deficiency vitamin D (F=4.906, P=0.009). BMD was significantly higher in cases without experience of abortion than those with more than one experience of abortion (t=4.264, p<.001), and the normal delivery was significantly higher than that of cesarean section (t= 2.019, p=.046). Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to actively prevent the factors affecting BMD during pregnancy and delivery. The findings presented herein can be used as basic data for the management of osteoporosis.

This study was conducted to determine the impacts of perceived stress and empathy ability on altruistic behavior of freshman nursing students. Data were collected from 160 freshman nursing students between 24 November and 9 December 2016. A total of 154 questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Stepwise multiple regression. The results showed that perceived stress had significant negative correlations with altruistic behavior (r=-0.178, p=0.028) as did positive perception, a subfactor of perceived stress (r=-0.347, p<0.001). However, empathy ability was significantly positively correlated with altruistic behavior (r=0.607, p<0.001). The factors influencing altruistic behavior included emotional empathy, cognitive empathy and positive perception, with emotional empathy being the most influential factor (${\beta}=0.320$), followed by cognitive empathy (${\beta}=0.312$), which together had an explanatory power of 41.6%. Moreover, there was a mediating effect of empathy ability in the relationship between positive perception and altruistic behavior. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the management of curricula for nursing college students should search for ways to reduce their perceived stress as well as increase their empathy ability in order to improve their altruistic behavior.
The purpose of this study was to identify the emotional and stress factors of the stroke victims living in the community and to investigate the effect of these factors on the level of social participation. Data collection collected data on the level of emotional awareness, stress, and social participation in welfare centers, public health centers, and stroke disabled people using community services. The level of social participation according to general characteristics was analyzed by descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA. Emotional factors, stress factors, and social participation levels were analyzed by pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. As a result, there were no statistically significant factors in the sub-domains of emotional factors that affect social participation performance and satisfaction. In the sub-areas of stress factors, personal internal stress and interpersonal stress were statistically significant variables. The explanatory power showed social participation accomplishment was 34% and satisfaction was 33%. Therefore, various approaches should be made considering stressful factors to achieve rehabilitation into the local community, and additional research is needed to identify psychosocial variables that affect social participation.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Youth is the crucial stage between childhood and adulthood during which an individual acquires new behavior and practices including dietary habits, that may be influenced by his peers, social circle, nutrition knowledge level and other factors. The increase in awareness of young adults is of special importance from the perspective of health and prevention of obesity related chronic diseases. To measure the nutrition literacy level of university students using the Turkish version of Adolescent Nutrition Literacy Scale (ANLS). We evaluated their food habits using the Adolescent Food Habit Checklist (AFHC) tool and analysed it, if the eating habits were affected by nutrition literacy level. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on randomly selected 276 students studying in the Faculty of Health Sciences of Istanbul Aydin University, Turkey. Data was collected by means of ANLS and AFHC tools by face to face interview method. SPSS statistical sofware (IBM SPSS Statistics 19) was used to analyse the obtained data. RESULTS: Participants comprised of 47.1% males and 52.9% females with mean age of $20.0{\pm}1.60years$. Mean body mass index (BMI) was determined as $22.4{\pm}3.76$ ($23.6{\pm}3.63$ males $21.3{\pm}3.57$ females). Functional, interactive and critical nutritional literacy scores for male participants were $22.49{\pm}5.71$, $17.45{\pm}4.84$, and $28.28{\pm}7.13$ respectively (total $64.98{\pm}10.15$). For females the values were $24.66{\pm}5.13$, $20.17{\pm}4.28$, and $32.20{\pm}5.65$ (total $69.72{\pm}8.59$) respectively. For all the three sub-categories of nutrition literacy, the scores acquired by females were significantly higher than males (P < 0.001). In the AFHC tool, the mean score acquired by males were $9.26{\pm}4.18$ whereas for females it was $10.37{\pm}3.40$ significantly higher as compared to males (P = 0.007). CONCLUSION: The food habits of female participants were better than males; in accordance with their nutrition literacy status. It may be concluded that food habits are influenced by nutrition literacy and therefore stress much be given to increase the nutrition awareness among children youth as well as adults.
