Rotifer culture fed on five types of artificial microparticle diets were evaluated to substitute the natural diets such as Chlorella or w-yeast. These microparticle diets including solidified blood using squid oil (SBSO), solidified blood using soybean oil (SBSB), nylon protein walled particle (NPW) simple coacervation oil capsule (SCO), complex coacervation oil capsule(CCO), were tested for the evaluation of feeding efficiency. The prepared micro particle diets had diameters ranging from 3 to 30 Jim. Rotifer culturing experiments were carried out in 3-liter beakers for 13-16 days. The initial inoculum density of rotifers was 10 ind./ml. The rotifers fed on Chlorella or $\omega-yeast$ showed maximal densities of 2,000 ind./ml in 9 days or 500 ind./ml in 7 days, respectively. Those fed on SBSO, SBSB or NPW showed maximal densities of 1568 ind./ml, 586 ind./ml or 503 ind./ml, respectively and the reproductive rates for those diets were equivalent to or better than w-yeast. However, the coacervated oil capsule showed lower maximal densities of 400 ind./ml for SCO and less than 100 ind./ml for CCO due to the unbalanced diet formulation and indigestibility.

Radiological properties of newly introduced and existing 3-dimensional (3D) printing materials were evaluated by measuring their Hounsfield units (HUs) at varying infill densities. The six materials for 3D printing which consisted of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), a unique ABS plastic blend manufactured by Zortrax (ULTRAT), high impact polystyrene (HIPS), polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG), polylactic acid (PLA), and a thermoplastic polyester elastomer manufactured by Zortrax (FLEX) were used. We used computed tomography (CT) imaging to determine the HU values of each material, and thus assess its suitability for various applications in radiation oncology. We found that several material and infill density combinations resembled the HU values of fat, soft tissues, and lungs; however, none of the tested materials exhibited HU values similar to that of bone. These results will help researchers and clinicians develop more appropriate instruments for improving the quality of radiation therapy. Using optimized infill densities will help improve the quality of radiation therapy by producing customized instruments for each field of radiation therapy.
It was examined carefully that the bacterial die-off between Chlorella vulgaris and E. coli. W3110 was tested through adding TOC (total organic carbon) with the lab-scaled continuous river water flow system (CRWFS). Artificial synthetic wastewater was applied at two levels of organic carbon concentration; 1,335 mg/l in treatment type 1 and 267 mg/l in type 2. In both types, the population densities of Chlorella vulgaris were similar in a maximum 8.25 ${\times}$ 10$\^$6/ cells/ml (type 1) and 6.925 ${\times}$ 10$\^$6/ cells/ml (type 2). The maximum densities of E. coli. W3110 were 2.0 ${\times}$ 10$\^$8/ colony forming unit (CFU)/ml in type 1 and 3.9 ${\times}$ 10$\^$8/ CFU/ml in type 2. The densities increased for 11 days in type 1 and 4 days in type 2, then decreased rapidly till the 35th day, then slightly increased again. This trend was prominent in type 2. It implied that a wider range of nutrients was required in the growth of heterotrophic bacteria in type 2 than in type 1. We could not expect successful bacterial die-off if the wastewater retention time was not furnished sufficiently.

Dependence of radical and ion densities on Plasma Parameters is theoretically investigated in $Cl_2$/Ar plasma discharges. Firstly, a set of reliable rate coefficients is obtained by direct calculations with cross section data set and by comparing them with previously reported values. Then, some global discharge simulations are performed for ICP(inductively coupled plasma) discharges and the results are compared with experimental results. Finally, the validated data set is used to analyze the dependence of radical and ion densities, which are usually not easy to be measured, on electron density arid temperature.

Numerical analysis was carried out to investigate the effect of GDL (Gas diffusion layer) porosity on the performance of PEMFC (proton exchange membrane fuel cell). A complete three-dimensional model was chosen for single straight channel geometry including cooling channel. Main emphasis is placed on the heat and mass transfer through the GDL with different porosity. The present numerical results show that at high current densities, the cell voltage is influenced by the GDL porosity while the cell performance is nearly the same at low current densities. At high current densities, low value of GDL porosity results in decrease of the fuel cell performance since the diffusion of reactant gas through GDL becomes slow with decreasing porosity. On the other hand, for high GDL porosity, the effective thermal conductivity becomes low and the heat generated in the cell is not removed rapidly. This causes the temperature of fuel cell to increase and gives rise to dehydration of the membrane, and ultimately increase of the ohmic loss.
This study examines 74 pieces of textiles of Daegaya found in the Jeesan-dong Tomb and Saeng-cho Tomb, and analyzes their characteristics and weaving techniques. Dagaya is known to have produced ramie and hemp from bast fibers. The hemp textiles were all woven in plain weave, and the ramie textiles were woven either in plain weave or plain braid. The ramie textiles were slightly more dense compared to the hemp textiles, however, both had average densities between 0.92 to 0.93, showing that they are balanced plain weave textiles. It was also found that S twist threads were used in the production of the hemp and ramie textiles. The dyed textiles on iron remains were found to be the oldest textiles to use dying techniques for patterns. Silk textiles were woven in plain weave, twill weave, and leno weave. All of the silk were made with non-twisted thread. The densities were between 30 to 58.3 and the the density rates were 1.0 to 2.5 for plain weave silk, this showed that varieties of plain weaver created by different densities of warp and well. The average density of cho was $53.4{\times}22.5/cm^2$ the density rate was about 2.40, therefore warp was woven more dense compared to the weft. There were degummed and raw silk used in silk textiles, but most of them were found to be degummed thread.
We investigated the association of Chlorella vulgaris and E. coli W9110 in removal of total organic carbon with the lab-scaled continuous river water flow system (CRWFS). Artificial wastewater was applied at two levels of organic carbon concentration; 1,335 $mg{\cdot}l^{-1}$ in the treatment (T)-1 and 267 $mg{\cdot}l^{-1}$ in T-2. The highest densities of C. vulgaris were $8.3{\times10^6\;cells{\cdot}ml^{-1}$ in T-1 and $6.9{\times}10^6\;cells{\cdot}ml^{-1}$ in T-2. The maximum densities of E. coli W3110 were $2.0{\times}10^8$ clony forming unit (CFU)${\cdot}ml^{-1}$ in T-1 and $3.9{\times}10^8\;CFU{\cdot}ml^{-1}$ in T-2. The densities increased during the first 11 days in T-q and 4 days in T-2, and decreased rapidly till 35th day, then increased slightly afterwards. This trend was prominent in T-2. It was inplied that wider range of nutrients was required in the growth of heterotrophic bacteria in T-2 than in T-1. The algal biomass should be increased effectively for the successful removal of organic carbon.
Chloroprene is a chlorine substituent of 1,3-butadiene. Butadiene rubber (BR) and chloroprene rubber (CR) composites were thermally aged at 60, 70, 80, and $90^{\circ}C$ for 2 - 185 days in a convection oven and changes of the crosslink densities by the accelerated thermal aging were investigated. The crosslink densities increased as the aging time elapsed and as the aging temperature became higher. Degrees of the crosslink density changes of the BR composite were on the whole larger than those of the CR one except the short-term thermal aging at 60 and $70^{\circ}C$. The crosslink densities abnormally increased after themal aging at high temperatures for a long time. Activation energies for the crosslink density changes of the rubber composites tended to increase with increase of the aging time and the variation showed a local minimum. The activation energies of the CR composite were lower than those of the BR one. The experimental results were explained with a role of ligand of chlorine atom of CR in a zinc complex, steric hindrance by chlorine atom of CR, and oxidation of rubber chain.
In recent years, flux switching machines (FSMs) have been an attractive research topic owing to their tremendous advantages of robust rotor structure, high torque, and high power capability suitable for intensive applications. However, most of the investigations are focusing on the inner-rotor structure, which is incongruous for direct drive applications. In this study, high torque and power densities of a new 12S-14P outer-rotor permanent magnet (PM) FSM with a DC excitation coil was investigated based on two-dimensional finite element analysis for in-wheel direct drive electric vehicle (EV). Based on some design restrictions and specifications, design refinements were conducted on the original design machine by using the deterministic optimization approach. With only 1.0 kg PM, the final design machine achieved the maximum torque and power densities of 12.4 Nm/kg and 5.93 kW/kg, respectively, slightly better than the inner-rotor HEFSM and interior PM synchronous machine design for EV.
Infestations of Aphis gossypii per leaf in greenhouse cultivation of cucumbers were investigated to develop binomial sampling plans. An empirical $P_T-m$ model, $ln(m)={\alpha}+{\beta}ln[-ln(1-P_T)]$, was used to evaluate relationship between the proportion of infested leaves with ${\leq}$ T aphids per leaf ($P_T$) and mean aphid density (m). Tally thresholds (T) were set to 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 aphids per leaf to find appropriate T in greenhouse cultivation of cucumbers. Increasing sample size had little effect on the precision of the binomial sampling plan. However, the precision increased with tally threshold. The binomial model with T = 5 provided appropriate predictions of the mean densities of A. gossypii in the greenhouse cultivation of cucumbers. Using a binomial model with T = 5 (sample size = 200), a wide range of densities (1.2 - 222.8 aphids per leaf) could be estimated with precision levels of 0.346 - 0.380 for $P_T$ values between 0.15 and 0.96. Binomial models were validated at T = 5 and 7 using 12 independent data sets. Both binomial models were robust and adequately described aphid densities; most of the independent sampling data fell within 95% confidence intervals around the prediction model.
