  • Conformational change during chain propagation of alanine oligomer was investigated by quantum chemical calculation(QCC) using 2~5mers(${\times}=2{\sim}5$) models. For estimation of the end group effects, two types of end group. "amide type" ($CH_3CONH-and-CONHCH_3$) and "methyl type" ($CH_3CONH-and-CONHCH_3$), were prepared as both ends(N-and-C). Conformers optimized for 5-mer converged to three types of ${\Phi}/{\Psi}$ : ${\alpha}$-helix(g+/g+, or g-/g-), PPII-like(extended helix-like, g+/g-, or g-/g+), and ${\beta}$-extended (t+/t-, or t-/t+), in the order of lower energy, and the energies of left- and right- handed conformers were the same (5-mer. amide type ${\Delta}E=-1.05$, right type ${\Delta}E=-1.62$). Energies of the monomer unit(${\Delta}E$) of ${\alpha}$-helix decreased with increases of monomer.

  • We have investigated binding between wild-type and mutant Heat Shock Factor (HSF) DNA binding domains (DBDs) with 17-bp HSE containing a central 5'-NGAAN-3' element by equilibrium analytical ultracentrifugation using multi-wavelength technique. Our results indicate that R102 plays critical role in HSE recognition and the interactions are characterized by substantial negative changes of enthalpy (${\Delta}H^0_{\theta}=-9.90{\pm}1.13kcal\;mol^{-1}$) and entropy (${\Delta}S^0_{\theta}=-12.46{\pm}3.77cal\;mol^{-1}K^{-1}$) with free energy change, ${\Delta}G^0_{\theta}$ of $-6.15{\pm}0.03kcal\;mol^{-1}$. N105 plays minor role in the HSE interactions with ${\Delta}H^0_{\theta}$ of $-2.54{\pm}1.65kcal\;mol^{-1}$, ${\Delta}S^0_{\theta}$ of $19.28{\pm}5.50cal\;mol^{-1}K^{-1}$ and ${\Delta}G^0_{\theta}$ of $-8.35{\pm}0.05kcal\;mol^{-1}$, which are similar to those observed for wild-type DBD:HSE interactions (${\Delta}H^0_{\theta}=-3.31{\pm}1.86kcal\;mol^{-1}$, ${\Delta}S^0_{\theta}=17.38{\pm}6.20cal\;mol^{-1}K^{-1}$ and ${\Delta}G^0_{\theta}=-8.55{\pm}0.06kcal\;mol^{-1}$) indicating higher entropy contribution for both wild-type and N105A DBD bindings to the HSE.

  • The item and structure of current detector depends on the current in conductors. The Hall current detector of these detectors is to use the variation of Hall voltage to conductor's current and it is very difficult for the conventional type to detect small current. In this paper we study experimented-method that detect AC current by using the magnetic modulation method the current, 0[mA]~100[mA]. The experiments results in 5 percent against the conventional, 20 percent in linear error, 0.12[.DELTA.mV/.DELTA.mA] to conventional type, 50[.DELTA.mV/.DELTA.mA] in sensitivity. • The paper is devoted to the study of fractional integration and differentiation on a finite interval [a, b] of the real axis in the frame of Hadamard setting. The constructions under consideration generalize the modified integration $\int_{a}^{x}(t/x)^{\mu}f(t)dt/t$ and the modified differentiation ${\delta}+{\mu}({\delta}=xD,D=d/dx)$ with real $\mu$, being taken n times. Conditions are given for such a Hadamard-type fractional integration operator to be bounded in the space $X^{p}_{c}$(a, b) of Lebesgue measurable functions f on $R_{+}=(0,{\infty})$ such that for c${\in}R=(-{\infty}{\infty})$, in particular in the space $L^{p}(0,{\infty})\;(1{\le}{\le}{\infty})$. The existence almost every where is established for the coorresponding Hadamard-type fractional derivative for a function g(x) such that $x^{p}$g(x) have $\delta$ derivatives up to order n-1 on [a, b] and ${\delta}^{n-1}[x^{\mu}$g(x)] is absolutely continuous on [a, b]. Semigroup and reciprocal properties for the above operators are proved.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of dental erosion by three different types of commercial fermented milk on the enamel surface of bovine teeth. Methods: Forty bovine teeth (four groups of 10) were immersed in fermented milk (experimental groups: liquid type, condense-stirred type and condense-drink type) or mineral water (control group) for 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. Enamel surface microhardness was measured before and after treatment with a microhardness tester, and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was used to assess the enamel surface morphology. Results:Changes in enamel surface microhardness (before-after treatment; ${\Delta}VHN$) were significantly different among the four groups (p<0.05). ${\Delta}VHN$ was highest in the liquid type group, followed by the condense-stirred type, condense-drink type, and control groups. The ${\Delta}VHNs$ of three types of fermented milk groups were higher than that of the control group (p<0.05). The liquid type group showed higher ${\Delta}VHN$ than the other two types of condense fermented milk groups (p<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in ${\Delta}VHN$ between the two types of condense fermented milk (p>0.05). The results of SEM observation have shown the most severe surface damage in bovine teeth immersed in the liquid type of fermented milk. Conclusions: In this study, it appears that liquid type fermented milk causes greater development of dental erosion. The physical properties and pH of fermented milk types must be considered for prevention of dental erosion associated with ingestion of fermented milk.

  • In this study, it induced to a conclusion below by experiment consideration to regarding an effective supercooling ends method of the flow cooling water in a tube of continuous ice making method and the static cooling water in a tube of continuous ice making method which used magneticfluid in a dynamic type ice storage system. Continuous ice making in a tube of the flow cooling water was shortened about 12 minutes until supercooling ends that case which gave vertical eccentricity rotation magnetic field 120rpm than did not provide magnetic field by experimental result that was tested to supercooling ends effect from shape control of magneticfluid. Continuous ice making method in a tube of the static cooling water compared with and reviewed the case that was not provided with the magnetic field and exposed cooling surface instantaneously by magnetic field. It confirmed that supercooling degree $\Delta$ $T_{c}$, $\Delta$ $T_{s}$, and $\Delta$ $T_{w}$ became lower because of heat transfering increasing by the occurrence of natural convection between after cooling starting progress time 1∼3 minutes if it did not give a magnetic field, and peformed the supercooling ends when natural convection occurred confirmed that refrigerating capacity was better. That relation $\Delta$ $T_{c}$, and $t_{e}$/($\Delta$ $T_{c}$-$\Delta$ $T_{s}$) after convection occurred, was not depended on $T_{b}$ and initial temperature if the depth of water and thickness of magneticfluid were regular and it was possible to verify conjecture of tp from $\Delta$ $T_{s}$ and $\Delta$ $T_{c}$.lar and it was possible to verify conjecture of tp from $\Delta$ $T_{s}$ and $\Delta$ $T_{c}$.c}$.>.

  • ${\Delta}-moves$ are closely related with a Vassiliev invariant of degree 2. For classical knots, M. Okada showed that the second coefficients of the Conway polynomials of two knots differ by 1 if the two knots are related by a single ${\Delta}-move$. The first author extended the Okada's result for virtual knots by using a Vassiliev invariant of virtual knots of type 2 which is induced from the Kauffman polynomial of a virtual knot. The arrow polynomial is a generalization of the Kauffman polynomial. We will generalize this result by using Vassiliev invariants of type 2 induced from the arrow polynomial of a virtual knot and give a lower bound for the number of ${\Delta}-moves$ transforming $K_1$ to $K_2$ if two virtual knots $K_1$ and $K_2$ are related by a finite sequence of ${\Delta}-moves$.
